    Heal from Home is amazing! It helped me restore and extend my voice from damage from poor choices and autoimmune issues. Worth the money at four times the cost.

    I had a surgery 6 years ago and I've been unable to sing since. I lost my identity. I sing all the time. Musical theater, voice coach... I never thought about warming up my vocal chords and retraining it. This is a life saver. Thank you. I feel myself again.

    2. hold breathe so less air passing so chords can put moisture back on own. lay 9:05-10:35
    3. lahh vowel, keep sound bright no breathy 11:20-13:10
    4. lip trill/hum 14:30-17:10
    5. louder lip trill 17:40-18:45
    6. lah louder from belly 19:28-21:12
    causes. blew it out, cold flu, acid reflux, post nasal drip causes hoarseness
    exercises puts resilience and stretch back in cords
    glutathione, collagen supplements for (vocal cords, skin, nails, hair etc)
    drink room temp water,
    snorting, clearing coughing exacerbates cords
    humidifier or shower
    turmeric black pepper reduce inflammation in chords

    Lost my upper register and most of my head voice after I caught Covid and the thought of never being able to sing like I used to gets me way down, so hopefully doing what Ken suggests can get me on the right track to healing. 😊

      Had the same issue dudes, been tryin a bunch of different stuff, I’m pretty good with the exercises but bein a smoker (I’m tryna quit), I wanna find extra ways to keep my voice healthy so hopefully this works

      @near5839 Still haven't gotten my old head voice/falsetto back, but my chest voice is getting better and my upper register is sloooooowly getting back to where it was. 🤙🏽 Though I've also been doing vocalises and other stuff in addition to this. Is your vocal loss also covid related?

    Finally somebody has the foresight to address this issue that all vocalists encounter at some point and perhaps even more frequently than the audience was aware of.
    Now I never sounded very good to begin with. So sometimes when Im struggling, cracking, and lowering my range, people think I'm improving.
    But guys like Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson and so many others seemed to have this super natural ability to never have a cold or phlegm or stretched vocal cord etc. Even while doing 2 hour shows night after night in all kinds of weather.
    I always knew there was a secret and it sure as hell wasn't a joint and a beer before the opener.

    4:35 exercise ee all are glottal compression and small velocity, starting w smallest vowels first
    7:40 aye vowel 9:05
    11:43 ah vowel -13:11
    14:30 lip drill -17:11
    Just follow his steps, even tho lip is usually first
    17:42 lip drill
    Scale 2😊
    19:25 now last Ah vowel scale
    Can lean more into sound if able to
    ----
    18:50 this is fraction of heal from home course
    19:20 can actually do all vowels if want (vowels jot here like aa, oo etc)

    I have to say, I follow many different vocal coaches here on TH-cam. Ken Tamplin is the only one that talks about vocal rehab! That’s why he’s the world’s best vocal coach, in my opinion.

    Thank you. I'm already, let's say, about 90-95% healed. My vocal folds is closing now and I can vocalize on the high pitch without the hoarseness.

    I used to be a coloratura, and singing brought me SO MUCH joy!! but then I developed chronic sinus issues and nasal polyps that went undiagnosed for a couple years (not for a lack of trying 🙄), and then asthma became intense that I couldn’t easily control so for over 2 years straight I was coughing almost daily. Like intense uncontrollable coughing. My range is TINY now and even that is super weak, raspy and breaks 😭

    My voice is broken from overuse and I would say the loss of collagen with the arrival of menopause. I am hopeful that I might be able to heal after listening to your video.

      I blow my voice quite alot and believe some of it is down to overuse and medication which is giving me throat problems.

    I watched this about 6 weeks ago and started the collagen you recommended. I've been taking 1 scoop each day and just finished my first container. I have noticed significant improvement in my vocal flexibility. Thank you.

    After bootcamp and covid, I lost my voice. It came back after a long time, but it is not the same, and it is much more limited, and gets inflamed quickly. It really brings me down, and even makes me consider doing something horrible to myself, because I feel like I am no longer capable of my lifelong dream of making and performing music as a rock singer. I really hope this helps. I have the vocal repair course, as well as ktva 2.0, and I intend on seeing an ENT as soon as I can. I know I'm not alone in this, but sometimes I really just lose all hope. I won't let it win though. It is encouraging to hear you say that the voice is a muscle, and can be repaired just like any other.

    Thank you for the wake up! There isn't much online about Extreme situations of vocal burnout, I Shit the bed last year when I burned out my vocal chords by getting drunk and sleepwalking hardcore. I was screaming in my dream at someone attacking me . I apparently woke up with no voice and holes in the wall. I lost my voice for about 4 months. It's still all whispery and I lost my motivation in life. It's the second time its happened in my life. I will be contacting you when I get some money saved up

    mrcabassa here, climbing out of one more vocal valley. Picked up your vocal repair a few years ago. As always thanks, and it works if you work it. I had an awesome head voice in the 80's and sang the all the high harmonies to the female lead in the band at the time. it's coming back!

    OMG IT REALLY HELPED. I got hit to the throat and my voice immediately changed into hoarse, which used to be really high pitch, i thought my dream of becoming a singer is crashed. But those exercises actually helped regain power and range. I'll be practicing daily with those videos.

    Ken, I really loved this video where you are in your control room and I can see the recording studio behind you, I really miss the days where I played with my band at motorcycle rally's where all you saw was a crowd and no real faces. I was only the Bassist and did a little backing voices. I need to do my best to raise the money to attend some of your courses. The problem is I live in South Africa and you are in USA but WHEN I can I would also like to visit my Mother an Oldest Sister in North Alaska, I think she said Cohagin, It's a little Island where NASA launch their satalites from. My brother-in-law and his son are computer geniouses and are both employed by NASA.

    I've been wanting to try your exercises out for years, today's the day to do so :) My voice breaks & does that "wavy" sound often, even while talking. I sound a lot older than what I am. It even has that wavy sound with simple humming. I thought it was from anxiety but perhaps it's partially from the lack of collagen. Here's to some improvements in 2025 :)

    7:30 chose small vowel for less air
    Now use aye/ aa vowel to open up sound a little more
    8:30 glutathione
    If buy a supplant then liposomal for better absorption and retention
    For immune but also has studies for helping w vocal cords
    10:30 if feel like cords drying out…
    Step back, can take 2-3/ even 5m but you CAN come back
    can also do water
    Don’t take lozenges
    11:11 ah vowel but make sure glottal compression cut back air and very bright
    13:11 humidifier or steamy shower
    Get moisture in air to breathe it in
    Pausing this here after doing this stretching and doing this moisturizing
    will now put moisturize back in chords and swelling will go down (stretch and moisturize I guess)
    14:11 as going through this(I guess he means while steaming?) he likes to do lip drill and lots of it
    17:11 by now prob notice getting voice and resonance back
    - And how often to do it
    - And also may notice can lean into sound kore
    17:40 lip drill v2
    18:55 more in-depth in course
    19:00 some people do it as precursor / warmup to singing course (which is also a warmup to singing the song and training lol)
    19:18 last is Ah vowel most open sound for air flow

      Ken, I have run into an issue. My voice has been excellent up until I recently had some sort of illness. It felt like the flu for about 24 hours. The aftermath was an extremely hoarse voice.. As the hoarseness began to get better, I noticed I'm not able to sing falsetto or really anything above the lower registers. It really has me worried. My throat does feel irritated and sore, but it has been almost a month with little improvement. Any suggestions?

    This is very important stuff for everyone, especially if you often give speeches, do teaching or use your voice s lot in phone - actually if you have hearing difficulty and therefore use your voice in a bad way. Very good walk through, Ken! 😁👍

    My vocal strained last month due to an improper scream. Almost 15 days later, my voice healed, but i rushed and tried to sing Again, with very high note and it feels off again. I can talk without hoarseness but singing is tough for me. I have breathing problems. Have a show in 10 days.

    I had a parathyroidectomy 3 days ago and I was so worried I wouldn't be able to sing again. The first thing I did when I woke up in recovery was test a little humming. LOL I wanted to start vocal rehab this week and your video is just perfect! Thank you for making it and for your suggestions on supplements to help moisten the vocal chords. xoxoxo

    This is so helpful, thank you!! I’ve been suffering vocal injury (I’m an elementary music teacher so using my voice loudly ALL day, plus getting sick frequently). My background is classical voice and I’m wondering if I should worry about my soft pallet and larynx when doing these exercises? Especially on the bright “ee”

    Hey Ken! I lost my voice after singing back to back days while I was sick a little over a month ago. Since then any time I talk a lot or even attempt to sing I feel my voice go out very quickly. I also Coach basketball so it is hard to really rest my voice a lot. I am wondering if I should do these exercises when my voice is fading? Should try to rest my voice for a full day? Been avoiding singing but I feel like my voice should be back by now since it’s been a month so just curious if you might have any advice? Thanks!

    hi there, i was a young shy lass but my singing teacher pulled me up and offered me a place in her choir then i found i just came alive but never solo, only while alone id ever actually sing, then i went silent, music wise, until i was with my own children, i began to yodel and explore my own range, then i had a breakdown and id screamed myself almost mute, a week later id argued and roared in rage while still almost silently horse, at this point i felt an actual agony in my throat deep, then i took a year to speak without constantly having to cough a little to clear my voice after 5 or so words, i am a very verbal chatty person and had smoked for years, roll on 5 years, i was happier than ever, healthy etc but, when i wanted to sing it was just emotionally difficult as well because id taken my voice for granted and neglected it, now i am blessed with 3 musical and beautiful voiced kids and have no range at all, i didnt even know there could be any hope until recently with my daughter using tiktok and youtube, so here i am, i still actually try to sing and everyone is used to my lack of range especially with power ballads lol,
    now i have no self consiousness or embarrassment id loved to do small local stage plays with local kids, ill keep going but any extra advice and opinion would be very encouraging, thankyou very much B

    Been doing these exercises -almost every day- since you published the clip 'Quickstart Vocal Warm Up For Guys' about a year ago. Still hating the lip-roll exercise though (pressing my chicks to do it), but definitively the three exercises work like a charm... if one does them correctly.

    Awesome video! Best advice I've got for healing my voice! I also found that pineapple juice has bromelain in it which is really good for the voice too. These tips were amazing

    Play vocal cords are so fried I can hardly even do any of this exercise, although I just surprised myself when doing voice to text put the fact that I can actually understand myself as I speak

    Piano player, I began siging along some covers 2 years ago. I thought I was mediocre but I discovered I got good pitch. But my vocal chords not always respond the same. I am a coffee drinker, does it make my voice worse or not ? A warm glass of water is new to me and I'm gonna try it...thanks Ken...I have to choose the best register voice to suite mine , for instance, with Billy Joel no problem, with Lennon no problem but McCartney it's more difficult. When I play and sign Small town Boy, I just can't reach the higher notes. I saw you perform More than a feeling, and I was very impressed. Is it possible for a nobody like me to reach those notes, I'm 62 of age.

      Brad Delp's vocals are a high bar for goal-setting, but you might be amazed at the results you could achieve if you set your mind and body into motion in that direction. We're all somebody.     I took this years Christmas chicken and made bone broth of the leftovers. That is supposed to contain a lot of collagen as well. Need to cook for a long time though. Not 20-30 min, rather 10-20 hours or even more. I also take hydrolyzed beef collagen type 1, 2 and 3. Every day.
    Just back from practise and all went well tonight. 12 months in the course and now I'm starting to learn how to pace myself for recording. You learn as you go.
    I noticed the headvoice is really crazy after months of training. There is like a block altitude between C5 and C6 where I can do pretty much anything with it.
    The program gives you a lot of strength! If you're on the fence I can tell you it will bring results given that you put the necessary time into it.
    I also noticed during the stamina workouts that my use of air has gone down significantly. I didn't even aim specifically for that. It has done that automatically after months of practise. Fantastic!

    I lost my voice after covid even 3 years later my voice stills weak & shallow. I used to have very strong & powerful voice. I have a leader, soothing &persuasive voice & good looking. Covid took away all those

      A lot of tough viruses have been going around for the past few years. Some settle in the vocal cords, and last a long time. It's important to do some gentle vocal exercises to try to rehabilitate the cords upon recovery from the longer-term ailments. In many cases, the voice can be nursed back to health.

    I think my big problem is confidence. I have had my voice put down so much when I sing with my favorites that now I am terrified at the thought my neighbors will hear me practicing and put me down.
    Ken, or any of you out there, how do I get over those put downs and try.

    Dang Ken, this is awesome. I didn't realize you had the separate course. After c19 2 years ago my doc theorized that I had vagus nerve damage effecting my vocal chords. My voice hasn't improved in 2 years but I haven't really done anything specific - and just kind of accepted this outcome I guess.
    Edit: I should read your course emails more closely, I assumed it was the course I had already bought. That's on me!

    I've had a bad laryngitis a month ago due to infection (my dad passed it to me). Never had such a thing. I lost my voice completely for two days and had to talk to my mum with Google translate. I then started speaking again but the voice was so hoarse and rusty. I was FULL of mucus and have been for three weeks. Thick, green, disgusting and never-ending stuff all coming from my throat. After the soar throat, bronchitis joined the club and I couldn't even sleep because of the coughing. After two weeks I could sing again but things that were effortless to me before, now were incredibly hard and I could only sing for 10 minutes. Now a month has gone by and luckily I have gained back complete control of my chest voice but when it comes to the head voice... ugh. I can't hit the high notes of the volume 3 exercises anymore, they come out almost completely airy and after that my throat starts itching and I have to stop. So frustrating. Before this I could easily hit those notes, practice ktva for 3 hours and then proceed to sing other stuff without ever feeling tired. I'll try to rest some more without pushing and wait... it's so hard though.

    Hey Ken thanks for these Videos! I feel these exercises working! I did however “loose” most of my falsetto/reinforced falsetto and I don’t want to push in my mix to hit the top notes of my range ( around F#5- C6 or so ) ! Would it be beneficial to do all of these exercises in my falsetto to get it back to being healthy and strong or should I do something else! Thanks 🙏🏼

    A couple questions regarding the information here, as well as in you Heal from Home course.
    I lost my voice about a month ago after a cold. I've mostly recovered, but I'm still experiencing a few issues, including:
    - Light hissing sound when singing, especially in head voice.
    - I can sing a note softly in head voice on a closed vowel, but when I shift into an open vowel, or try for more cord closure for a wider mixed voice sound, my voice won't allow it.
    This region of the voice in particular used to feel pretty flexible and versatile, but now it just feels stiff and dry.
    Is it common for issues in this region of the voice to persist the longest?
    Is this something your Heal from Home helps to remedy specifically?
    I'll certainly be looking into your course, and any advice or tips you can offer in the meantime would be much appreciated.

    I had a endoscopy almsot a year ago before having my gallbladder removed. Ever since then i haven't been able to hit any type of rougher/growl notes without it hurting my throat. I've never had any formal vocal training but have always felt I'm a decent singer. Any recommendations?

      It’s best to get professional advice from a doctor. Based on what they say, you may have some options to get back into singing well.

    I have summer holidays right now and legally can't contact my vocal coach when in holidays because im under 16 (something about the German law idk), I tried a new vocal routine yesterday and I did tons of exercises going down and up my range and also pushing myself beyond it. But it just feels bad now so I probably overppushed myself I just dont understand how your voice is physically improve itself if you dont push it yk so I gotta ask my teacher that once the holidays end!

    I was wondering if possible?You can answer a question for me.I consider myself a very good singer.But I am getting up there in age I am 54, but my question is if I quit smoking within 3 months, would I gain strength and range? And yes, I've been smoking for a long time.
    But i'm hoping if I quit smoking within three months that I can get some better vocal chords back if that makes sense, i would appreciate your thought thank you

      Smoking irritates and dries out the vocal cords. Quitting smoking should result in a noticeable improvement in range, clarity, smoothness and stamina not to mention the health benefits to your lungs and heart. If your voice sounds worse at first stick with it, you'll hear improvement.

    Hey Ken, thanks for the video, really useful stuff!
    Would you mind also giving some tips for healing from poor cord closure? (as in - not nodules or polyps or swollen cords - just cords not coming together all the way as a result of incorrect singing)?
    It's quite difficult to find some healing exercises for the case when there is no swelling in the cords and no nodules and such either but the cords still don't come together properly. Or will these exercises you recommended here also do the job?
