Versus Hero Xpulse 200 4v? | Suzuki V-Strom FAQ #12

  • Three things to choose between the Hero Xpulse 200 4v and the Suzuki V-Strom
    1. The XPulse is a great little off-road machine even before you add the rally kit and quite a bit less expensive than the Suzuki to boot. It's a decent city bike -- Suzuki better -- and a just about decent highway bike -- Suzuki's far better.
    2. Recent reports from forums and comments and our extended friends' circle says not only is the Xpulse less reliable than we thought, there are many reports of hero service failing to provide decent hassle-free service as well. Great bike, but it has caveats. Suzuki should be reliable but their service quality is known to vary a bit too... not as much as Xpulse's though.
    3. In terms of quality, features, how well it comes together, the Suzuki is slightly better overall, and quite a bit more expensive but these are both solid machines.

    Well, Xpulse is not just an off roader... I have Xpulse since a year... And there's no issues with bike... Bike's suspension is unbeatable... Mileage is better... Only issues with the Xpulse are Headlights are still a pain in the ass and Engine need upgrade... From which Headlight issue was solved by Maddog Aux lights...
    Parts availability problem is not at all a problem because they can make it available in 3-4 days... Which is okay... As Xpulses are sold less than other bikes... Then why would they keep everything in the service centre for no reason?

      @@sreejiththekkummuri1547on an average gixxer 250 can go upto 135 kms without any vibration.. The minimum cruising speed on 5th gear is 70-80 and 80-110 kms on 6th. As the SX is using the same engine of the gixxer...I would say the performance is miles ahead compared to the Xpulse200.

    Got some 1500kms on my x pulse (latest one). Key takeaways pretty tall, light but centre of gravity is pretty high (not super easy to handle), seat isn't the most comfortable, acceleration is pretty good, headlight upgrade is good, not the fastest bike, off-roading is so much fun, i look for bad roads to go through basically, can break through speed bumps effortlessly, it's cheap enough for you to use it ruggedly and simple enough to fix things that break easily. For me personally riding is about freedom, take it anywhere and not be too worried that it'll ruin the machine forever. In that sense it's pretty reliable and a beautiful machine. I am loving this purchase and thinking of doing some modifications

    I agree with the point that the ability to solve technical issues, its a problem actually with the hero. Although I never had major issues with my xpulse.. ! I completed around 7k kms on it. The engine cuts off whenever you start at first 5min, I got used to it and solved it by maintaining some idle time.. I reported the same to the service people... They werent able to rectify that..!
    There used to be jerking issue in the lower rpms, in the 2nd 3rd gear.. It got solved with an ecu update😂.
    Just writing this here..! so that if you are getting new one! you will know the issues!

    Ive got a xpulse last week, and just done 300 odd kms on it. The value is incredible. Yes it has a bit rpm issues on lower speeds. But the feel of the bike is incredible. It feels like a proper dual sport and is pretty much fun. The only issue is however what awaits me in the long run. I don’t intend to do trails and neither I’m into off-roads. Im just a big fan of its lightweight nature, dual sport looks, comfortable riding stance and ability to glide through bad roads like a boss.

Yet when i was walking out i noticed an xpulse rider having come up for service. But when I went for test ride for suzuki it's engine felt sooo smooth and its ability to to not knock down in low rpm higher gear(helps a lot in traffic/city), which the KTM and Bajaj I didn't like at all switch gears regularly in traffic.
    I went for suzuki at the end and boi oh boi , long rides are absolute pleasure . It's just a no nonsense bike at easy 100kmph cruise , no heating issue even after being oil cooled (suzuki is pioneer of oil cooling).

    2) vstrom 250 sx ?

    As a vstrom sx owner i got to say it's too expensive at 2.7 lakhs but with that the ride is very good in city in Bangalore patchy road never felt tired or jerks on body and with that returning a milage of 35-40 its great it can easily cruise at around 100-110 in highways. I was easily able to do Bangalore kochi with minimal breaks. But as an adv it's suspension i feel is not that posh as compared to something like gs310 from which i downgraded from.

    Hi guys, let me first congratulate you on a very well done automotive channel.
    I had a 2018 Dominar that I took to places like “slopes of hell” and back. You know just backyard off-roading. I know it is not a good off roader.
    I think I have graduated to get myself a really good off-roading bike and I was thinking v storm 650 or a second hand tiger.
    Which do you think is better off roader with some adventure touring capabilities

    • @motorinc
      @motorinc  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you, Anup!
      With regards to your question, the Tiger is the better off-road bike. It has the better ground clearance, suspension etc to make life off-road much easier. The question you must ask yourself is are you willing to ride a big, heavy bike off-road and is yes, how often will you do so? If you are going to stick mainly to the tarmac the V-Strom 650 is a sweet motorcycle. It can handle mild trails as well so Ladakh will not be much of an issue. Take test rides, extensive ones at that, before deciding.

    Think 100 time before buying a hero motorcycles, I have sold my xpulse 200 2v just becoz the service centre couldn't fix my bike, I had ridden total 26000 kms only after that my engine got seized, I paid approx rs 20,000 to ship my bike to my from Siliguri to Kolkata and after that paid approx Rs 22,000 for engine rebuild, and after bike got delivered to me after 18 days I rode only 800km and my bike started giving headache, over heating, Power loss, Miled kit kit kit sound was happening while crossing 4000 rpm and above and after complaining several times regarding issue they opend the clutch and inspected and found that the clutch pressure plate got burned and clutch center hub got deep scratch. Again and again they set the tappet but the kit kit sound was very annoying, This was my first touring motorcycle which I had bought in June 2019, and this was my secondary motorcycle and the total km on odo meter was spent on touring only there were many memories which were attached to my motorcycle but after the engine failure the service centre guys couldn't fix it and higher authorities also didn't gave any satisfactory reply to me, and after spending approx 42,000 I sold it for only 50,000.

      Motorcycles like Honda CRF and ktm SX are yet to come in India which are used strictly for motocross and rally and xpulse is the closest thing that serves this purpose and comparing it with a vstrom which is a subpar touring vehicle at best is weird, xpulse is not made for comfort of highway rides, it is made to be rough and rugged and uncomfortable and help you navigate on tough terrains and hardore offroading

    • @kinjalpalit9931
      @kinjalpalit9931 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am yet to see anyone in events like raid the Himalayas and sjoba rally or rally of chamba with a vstrom but if you say xpulse is that much unreliable then guess we gotta take your word

    • @motorinc
      @motorinc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah. Now we understand what you mean. So first, _we_ aren't comparing the two, we have a lot of questions from people comparing the two, so we believe this would help them. Second, we do have a lot of people... and not just on our comments... who have said that the XPulse, as lovely as it and as far off-road as it will go _before you add a rally kit, even_, has issues that end up taking it back to service, where Hero's people are either swamped (the commuters are sold in huge numbers) or don't have Xpulse parts in stock sometimes. In that sense, it's information -- the Vstrom is a better highway bike and the Xpulse has no rivals at the moment off-road. Both have service side issues (Vstrom has a detailed service FAQ vid of its own).

    I am very skeptical of Suzuki service I have an access 125 and have had the absolute worst service experience with it and I don't feel like I can trust the same company to do a good job with 3lac bike

      Yeah, we did mention in another short in this list that Suzuki's service rep isn't the greatest

      @RaghavCh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Simple, whichever sells more, had better support and spares avilability..ktm 250 it is.. Suzuki doesn't even come close

    • @motorinc

      KTM for service and spares for sure.

      @@RaghavCh but Suzuki has more ASC as well showrooms. Even that Engine of Suzuki beats Ktm 250 till 130 km/hr in one go.

    I was a loyal customer from 2016 till 2022. But after buying the latest one i have lost confidence on hero service. Spares are actually not available, service is not upto the standards, service persons dont know how to deal with issues.etc etc i would never buy another hero vehicle.

    If service is a problem with any of these superior machines, why bother buying them? 😢 When will this change?

    • @motorinc
      @motorinc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Service is a hard problem TBH. The standard of service, processes etc are set by the brand. Which then has to train, sometimes hundreds, of mechanics to work on a model. But these are employees of the dealer/service station in a low-paying job where they move around quite a bit. It's a complicated challenge for the brands to solve.

    Why the hate for hero ? ...may bcoz its a indian brand !! U guys didn't even take into consideration the real issues..
    Ya i can agree that xpulse has some issue like seat is pathetic specially pillion, and headlight piece of junk ...but other than that at this price the main thing like suspension is great, handling for this kind of bike is great...no issues with engine...ya may be some bikes have that all bike can have even a v strom...mind u its a mass production bike...and how can u say service centre has issues ? I come from non metro city the service is great they really care about the customers...i have a Honda too and they treat the customer like slave

    • @motorinc
      @motorinc  ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s no hate. See the comments’ streams on MotorInc and you will see that while Hero & Suzuki both have a few commenters that say their experience was good, a larger number say that their experience was not. The forums are also reporting 200 issues (not just Xpulse)… but a similar opinion for the VStrom is not there.
      Also. Since your dealer is clearly giving you a great experience… would you mind editing your comment and naming them? If they’re doing good work, then we believe credit and publicity is the least we can do for them
