I love that you bring up footwork first. Most styles just block and counter. They just don’t seem to move the line. Keep up the awesome vids please!!
wonderful video. Started with Kali in 1990 and although have moved from it being the only thing I train I have taken what I have learned over the last 40 years and mixed it all into a system that works great for me. Now my Kali, BJJ, MMA and Aikido has become Zenshin Aiki a life long study that I hope will never end.

Hey Guro, this is Harun Abdul-Ali from CMHA PD in Cleveland, OH. For the past 11 years, Dumog techniques has abled me to control subjects who were resisting arrest. Being a smaller guy at 5"8 170 lbs, Dumog, Arnis and Panantukan has equalize the size disadvantage with bigger, stronger subjects. Using explosive speed while utilizing the techniques, rocked the bigger subjects world, where they couldn't respond. I would love for you to put more Dumog and Panantukan videos on TH-cam!
Keep up the good work Guro, your videos are an inspiration, and tutorial for me!!!!
+Harun Abdul-Ali Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos! I'm glad to hear that Dumog and the Kali Empty-Hands has done good things for your career. That's fantastic! I have more videos coming up on Dumog techniques as well as Panantukan stuff both at my Online School and here on the TH-cam Channel :)

Great stuff 👍.... It's a shame more Kali teachers don't spend much time on the dumog aspect..... again......great stuff 👍🏼all the more reason why Kali is such a beautiful art
Its not for art or for sports...filipino kali is for killing.
I was in Chinese qi na, but I started practice Kali, and dumong expecially. I love this discipline.
Nice flow and want to learn Philippines martial arts. Been learning Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Cheers.
Wow!! Very nice techniques!! Love these!
Amazing execution on the technique, ty for the channel!
Reminds me a bit of Kuntao, another art I am interested in.

hello, do you have knife drill with partner?
This is wonderful and useful 👌👍
Very Nice!!! Kali!!!!
Thank you!
Hi Paul the technique is great.
Can you show the techniques where the guy snaps back the jab full speed.
Or does the jab and cross full speed please thank you bro.
Kali forever!
+Ismael Fraser Yes, All of our tactics & techniques get applied against real resistance! ;)
+Ismael Fraser yes the technique is great but this is not a filipino wrestling
This is Dumog. There are many styles of Filipino Martial Arts and per area.
its only a take down not a wrestling so this is not considered to be Dumog.
+Ismael Fraser by the way I like the way you teach and explain the techniques to your students
My teacher taught me the same, but instead of throwing the enemy to the ground, we continue the technique with a rear naked choke.
That is another great option! :)
In Kuntao that takedown is used more as a strike to the throat. It's brutal.
That's amazing! :) Its just sad that its not well promoted in the Phils. such a pity :(
Matt Lav it's very true!
Just LOVELY!! ☺️🤓🙏🏼
The founder of Balintawak Escrima killed his would be assassin, while being stabbed in the street, by breaking his attacker's spine (dumog-grappling) with empty hand techniques...which earned him a criminal conviction and prison sentence for manslaughter which is documented (unlike the claims of other FMA grandmasters) for using Escrima empty hand methods to kill the man that stabbed him with the knife. So it's evident that Balintawak Escrima had effective empty hand defense methods, even if some schools don't teach them or prefer to mix boxing, karate or jiujitsu with Escrima/Kali to fill the gap for empty hand combat defense.
GM Bacon is just an small man but he can easily break your spine.
Paul I think you explain things very well. I have done some kali as well as twelve other disciplines in forty years. I have to ask you this question. besides mock choreography or pre arranged defensive moves to pre arranged attacks. Have you ever seen any training in kali with stress? I have not. I live in CT. and even in NY. I haven't seen any kali training with stress. Have you?
elixon lopez We do at my school. Some Pekiti Tirsia also trains under a tremendous amount of stress. It just depends on the school. I have seen many schools that never pressure test. Our "Flow" gets very stressful especially when we flow with the live blades.
+Kali Center nice
Irimi nage.
what if he throws the punch but doesnt step fordward with the right leg? i mean, thowing the right leg upfront is an unusual move, most of the times people tend to leave the right leg behind when punching with the right arm, also that's the first thing they teach you in any boxing/muaytai/kickbox/etc academy... so, do you think you can catch the neck if the oponent stays in the right stance? or is it too risky to get that close and get a left swing?
It creates a different take down. Lower the intent to the neck to disrupt and kick/sweep the leg in question. I've used this a number of times.
haw can I take down a guy way taller than me ??????
next time watch for the audio pls :) i can hear you talk on ear and the music on the other which isnt very comfortable but nether the less. nice video
Manni Nguyen We have that fixed in our newer videos! Thanks! :)
Just saw your recent videos and noticed it!
That clothesline with your arm behind you won’t work, he will throw you that way. Try to keep your throwing arm in from of you.
nice application but that dance at the end was .....confusing to say the least
It threw me for a loop too! :)
so ein quatsch
