The funny thing is, public transit companies all are like "oh we have electric buses, it's clean green energy", but the lithium required to make the batteries for these electric buses is arguably worse for the environment then gas powered buses.
That's not true, the break even point for a car battery's production emissions is around 20k miles, so in less than a year of use it's already better than gas. The same logic can be applied to buses, which would require a bigger battery but also produce more carbon
@@AllenIverson-to5uy it's called diesel. Also, the point I was making is that the carbon emissions per passenger in a bus are way less than those in cars.

The subway provides them with a safe space to sleep: 1. It’s enclosed. 2. Warmer since it’s not out in the elements. 3. They can sleep off the ground since the seats are one long flat seat. 4. I live in Switzerland. Public transportation is on time, clean and safe. There's no reason not to use it. Living in a city there's a tram even during the night on certain lines now (introduced last year) . Nobody would think of this being unsafe - even if you would be alone, no problem at all. I really can't relate at all. Of course after a concert or a sports event like soccer tournament the train is full with drunken people. But even they are harmless. Drug addicts are cared for in Switzerland. They will not annoy you in a bus or train. There are not that many homeless in Switzerland.
Swiss public transportation is amazing! The US barely funds their public transportation (the stuff they do have) and I think Switzerland is an example the US should follow in public transportation.
Not every public transport is that bad. I live in New York where all the shit goes down, but I've seen other transport networks like London, and I found it ok.
Czech person here using public transit daily for 20 years. I see max of 3 crackheads in a year a bit more schizo people but they are harmless. 99% of rides are completely chill and uneventful. Czech Republic has some of the best public transport I've seen. Operating 60+ year old trams in regular public service whilst keeping them fresh is quite the achievement.
As a poor person who's environmentally conscious as I can be, what separates this debate are folks who take public transport because they want to vs people who take it because they have to. For poor people, being "sustainable" is just everyday life.

but some country are rather lax in tackling these issues, or even ignore if it came from certain community. Is it any surprise that it ruins public space and in turn public transportation too? You dont get these problems in civilized location.
7:26 Boys this is what defunding the police gets you
That was in Canada, they have never defunded their police.
Yep
How tf would extra police funding prevent that? Do u want a cop stationed on every bus and train?
@@Invalourrr-vb3xo Yes, or have cops be allowed to arrest these people seeing as they're probably not hard to find because people record them
@@TakenWasTakenYT would it not be far cheaper and less intrusive to just solve the problem that's leading to crack heads on a subway? Because sure you could station a cop on every train, but 9 times outta 10 that guy is just sitting there doing fuck all

Lets be honest public transportation is for broke people with no other choose like me💀
If i or everyone else had the money for a car or motorcycle mf i am buying that sht
The torronto guy getting chased by the knife, bro that is insane how nobody did shit, except when he was getting stabbed, and while hes getting stabbed, still aint no one helping him, they going to the other side of the commute
If you live in the USA, just ignore the people who say that you should use public transportation
The funny thing is, public transit companies all are like "oh we have electric buses, it's clean green energy", but the lithium required to make the batteries for these electric buses is arguably worse for the environment then gas powered buses.
Your grasping at straws bro, busses don't even need to be electric and they are still more than 10 times greener than a car.
@@Simqer What do they use of not electric or gas?
That's not true, the break even point for a car battery's production emissions is around 20k miles, so in less than a year of use it's already better than gas. The same logic can be applied to buses, which would require a bigger battery but also produce more carbon
@@AllenIverson-to5uy it's called diesel.
Also, the point I was making is that the carbon emissions per passenger in a bus are way less than those in cars.
@@Simqer I was talking about the vehicle itself, although for a bus to be 'green' it would require people to ride it who would otherwise use cars, but the people who ride the bus would just walk or ride a bike, because they don't have cars, buses are also inconvenient because they don't come on the dime and they don't stop exactly where you need to be
I ain't breathing till ibz makes clown girl vid public again😔😔😔
It's not about public transport. It's always about some
dumb mfers. If you're on the bus, train whatever, the one
thing that can get you are the other passengers.
But yeah these examples be wilding. I'd refuse public
transport as well if it were like that here.

The problem is that cities in the Americas are almost completely unwalkable. It can't be fixed cause the cities were built rapidly. It's like trying to fix forced Industrialization. The best that can happen is cities that are mostly walkable with good public transport and cars working together
I'm European and the US public transport looks like Arkham Asylum.
public transport in canada is amazing but ya know
well vancover, idk about other cities
Lots of Vancouver’s public transit is full of tweakers (I live here and transit near east side)

In Vancouver it's okay. But you do NOT want to be caught lacking😂
this is why I'm glad here in Oklahoma there is no traffic and you can just drive anywhere you want. Don't get injured though the closest hospital is like 30 minutes away.
Berlin: *sips tea*
Tokyo: Should we tell him?
Hong Kong: I think we should tell him..

Madrid: Pathetic.
Paris: Indeed.
Holy ass fan fic😭
Y’all Can afford that bs because Americans front your defense bill to protect y’all from scary Ivan 😂
As someone who takes public transportation in Philly I can tell you it's terrible. trash , drug addicts , wannabe gangster's , losers who got nothing better to do , & overcrowded
the crackheads are not a feature, they are biome specific to the USA
public transport is good if done well, the USA is NOT a good example of public transportation
Public transport only works in places with ethnic homogeny, its pretty nice in eastern europe, which is ironic because those countries are shitholes overall.
The US was not built for the car, it was bulldozed for the car.
yeah wtf goes on in america 😭 i live in europe and ive seen like 3 tweakers in my entire life
Japan has segregated train carriages because men keep groping and raping women. Public Transport is always shit no matter where you go.
@@lol56434 i live in bucharest and crackheads are more at malls other than the bus
self driving taxi service would be like public transport cranked up to 100, people would get up to the nastiest things in the car and theres no one there to stop them
Where I live, you don't even need a car since public transport is literally faster than going places with a car. And It has older folks instead of crack smokers.
The subway provides them with a safe space to sleep:
1. It’s enclosed.
2. Warmer since it’s not out in the elements.
3. They can sleep off the ground since the seats are one long flat seat.
4. There are many people around so you don’t have to worry about being attacked in your sleep unless there are other fellow crackheads like you.
5. Society can not avoid you while there, so you get to feel normal again.
yeah but we dont want homeless people just sitting there permanently taking up space since they dont wanna get out
I wouldnt wanna go on public transit with you ibz either
As a European we dont get tweakers on our public transportation but its fun making fun out of that yeah plus forgot to mention i never really saw that many tweakers

This shit's going on in Austria (EU) as well. After like 7pm the homeless and drug abusers spawn in and around public transport just to see if they can scream louder than the toddlers that went before 7pm.
"I'm from Chicago".
There's the issue
When People ask why doesn't anyone help the person getting stabbed or beat up on the subway or bus? bro I'm not putting my life in danger for some random stranger, Life is too short to be the fucking hero. call me a coward all you want but self preservation is key.
If i had a weapon i would help. If i don't. Then there's nothing i can do.
Yeah but not everyone lives in Switzerland
>Public Transport is TERRIBLE

im canadian, and every morning when i turn on the news prepping for school i ALWAYS see a story of a ttc assault
As someone from LA the most people I ever saw on the subway was 7 people across 3 different trips.
Its probably not gonna get better for a while either, people just tired from work and don't wanna deal with the situation 😭

They just need to start playing classical music on the bus and public transportation will be usable.

American public transportation is shit, I agree.
us public transport (and us car infrastructure) is something the european mind can not comphrehend
UK transport is also shite
Nah man I love it, every time I get on it there’s like a vibe. You can feel it bro.
Not every public transport is that bad. I live in New York where all the shit goes down, but I've seen other transport networks like London, and I found it ok.
10:29 that's a fuckin skinwalker
Pros of Public Transportation: Anybody with a bit of money can access it.
Cons of Public Transportation: Anybody with a bit of money can access it.
Czech person here using public transit daily for 20 years. I see max of 3 crackheads in a year a bit more schizo people but they are harmless. 99% of rides are completely chill and uneventful. This ain't a public transport issue chief its a people issue and when public transport is treated as a thing for only the poor and downtrodden instead of it being for everyone it will look like in the video
As a newyorker the subway is so known for ha ING crazy I started to see a sign saying "don't be someone else train story" sign while on the train 😂😭
What's worse? driving on the road with these guys or being confined with them in a giant moving coffin...

Wait a minute, this will sound stupid on me, but do you have to pay for public transportation in those places? because it is hard to believe that people like those can afford money to pay to take public transportation.
The barriers are very shoddy
New Yorker here, crackheads just jump over the barrier
@tosokk here in Puerto Rico no one dares to do that, not even me.
The dude on the bus smokin was hearin sada baby 😂😂😂
Ibz isn't ready for how political these comments are going to be.
