@@micheletrainor1601 Thanks. Like I said, I've only seen the full movie once a few years back. I was also unaware of the pink triangle. This definitely makes his character motivation a bit more obvious.
@@micheletrainor1601 Yeah , I’m surprised too people don’t pick up on the subtle gestures between the two. Freddie also kinda appears feminine? I guess like the swimming pool scene. It’s also not common for an officer and his orderly to be so close and goofy , so that gives it away too . Captain k too I’d say purposely got injured too. A eye injury is more believable than a foot or leg where it cause suspicion if it was deliberate. He also didn’t believe in the Reich either with his monotone voice at the start and how subtly glad he was the war is ending. “Not much Hope for us.” Which doubling down the moral would not be acceptable. Hitler and Nazis are sensitive topics in America, not as bad as in Germany, but still a problem. If you consider that, you will see that Taika Waititi did an AMAZING job in his acting and directing, but especially in the writing, to walk this tight rope between comedy and brutality. I've watched this movie a few times, and also tons of reactions. Being European, I think you have a better historical perspective than most Americans since we rarely study history, and definitely not European history (all to our own detriment). I think that view might have given you a little more of a standoff-ish experience of the movie. That's fine, but you might think about it more from how we think of it here. It's definitely a cultural thing. My country (Central, not Eastern Europe; BTW this film was made here) was occupied by the Nazis, and we've weaponized dark humour as our coping mechanism. We have a saying, "there must be laughs, even if they were hanging your father (and your mother was next in line)." I'm assuming you're an American? You guys tend to be too squeamish about the subject; we lived through it 🙂The best way to deal with any authoritarian is to laugh at them. @@BissFlix I hope you find a movie that will make you laugh a lot. There is one for everybody 😊
This is one of the odder reactions to this movie I've seen. Most reactors display more cringe at the Nazi stuff, especially the light touch Waititi uses on the subject matter. Might be cultural, but this isnt the first eastern European reaction ive seen.
Hope you enjoyed the reaction
It's definitely a cultural thing. My country (Central, not Eastern Europe; BTW this film was made here) was occupied by the Nazis, and we've weaponized dark humour as our coping mechanism.
We have a saying, "there must be laughs, even if they were hanging your father (and your mother was next in line)." I'm assuming you're an American? You guys tend to be too squeamish about the subject; we lived through it 🙂The best way to deal with any authoritarian is to laugh at them.
The following clip was part of our anti-neo-nazi campaign some 20 years ago, "be kind to your local Nazi", it was very popular, enjoy (it should have English audio): /watch?v=EI6mfwLMwdc
Фильм и действительно хорош,только с одним но,он очередной где показывают что нацисты не такие уж и плохие что вовсе не так,много доказательств этому в истории .
