- I'm doing a mini-series of different parts of the NCW and how I do them.
In this video, I go over how I do the flap hardware. I realized after editing that I forgot to mention the reason! (I've got flu brain, forgive me!) Many people have issues with getting nice even topstitching around where the snap is due to the snap placement. This video is intended to show how I wait until after I have stitched it and topstitched it to put in the hardware so that I don't have to worry about keeping my topstitching where it is meant to be.

Hi! Just found your channel and I love your NCW tips. In this video you mentioned a little about how you make sure your snaps are lined up perfectly. I have made a few of these wallets and that is the part that I have trouble with the most. I go to fold it together and the snaps don't always line up! So frustrating! I thought you said you were going to make a video showing how you do a "practice" fold of the wallet before installing the female part of the snap, but I don't see one. Would you mind sharing how you do it? I think you said something about putting chalk on the male portion of the snap, but not sure. Thank you again for sharing your creativity!
Hi Pcampbell! Life kind of got in the way of creating, both at the machine and video content.
I basically do a test fold and put a bit of disappearing ink on the male portion of the snap, once I'm sure it's lined up just right and then press it into the fabric to mark where the female portion will go.
