Hi Jess, I love your tutorials! Just released my first bag pattern, but I wouldn’t have been confident making what I do if it weren’t for your tutorials!

I think the reason the sides were short was how much you sewed the center when you attached the zipper pocket. Instead of 1/4" you did 1/2 on both sides - just what I think.

I made my vertical cards slots using a file folder for a template. I used the directions on the pattern, but the second row card slot, came up to far, I thought, so I made the fold come a half inch below the first outside fold. It looks better and the cards are stair stepped. I also just want to say, thank you. I have watched so many videos and none of them get into the details of the construction, as well as you do. So appreciate it. I’m working on my third mini wallet and do enjoy it, but this last one has been such a pain. About ready to throw it across the room. Lol. Outside is thin vinyl and this stuff does not want to be sewed. I used vinyl with thick backing and my Juki TL 2010 Q wine through all those layers like butter. Now with this one, the machine is skipping stitches and just not sewing it right. I tried used my industrial Brother and it broke a needle. What a mess! I’ll figure it out. Thanks

Thank you for another great video! 🤗 You mentioned tension with bobbin winding and different thread weights in the beginning. Would you be open to making a video about tension for the machine when sewing and the bobbins ?(and whatever other tension things that're important). I loved your informational video on interfacing, and as a superrr beginner sewer I would love to soak up more of your wisdom. Thanks again for all that you do!!🤗

I loved this video so much! You were doing some of the same things I do and even though no one else can see the problem, I see it and I drive myself nuts so I have to walk away🤪 I think you're a wonderful teacher and your super power is your energy and humor. Take care and keep makin' these videos!👛♥

I’ve made at least 20 of these and love them! As always, I learned a couple of new things from your video . A couple of shortcuts I do - I make the card slots double wide then cut them in half. Saves a little time. I also insert the decovil in the flap after I topstitch. Since I’m using a domestic, I find it easier.

Thanks so much for your videos. I love this pattern as well. I’ve made a change in the way I make these. I have included a zip pocket on the outside back of the wallet.

Have you considered using a tailor's clapper to hold it down to cool? They absorb the heat and make things cool down super flat

  • @asheryl1966

Thank you for the video. I just tried to make one and had the worst time trying to sew the zipper pocket to the sides. I too kept having to remove stitches and start over. I finally managed to catch 3 areas but never could catch one of the sides with the zipper so I hand stitched back and forth in one spot to secure it.

Oh TY!!! I’ve made 4 or 5 of the large but have 3 of the mini’s (for production sewing) & have them in the “time out” bin since the week the Mini came out!! I just strongly disliked (aka hated) how the pattern kept referring me back to the original pattern!!
It was just SO confusing going back & forth between the (paper) patterns when I never really read the original pattern since I just watched your video instead of reading the pattern!! Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!!!!

I have tried to make both sizes. And my sewing machine just can’t sew through the flaps or the sides of the wallet 😢 man it just gets me down ever time. So I’m saving for a industrial. Than I’m going to sew 100 of these. I’m not going to sleep or eat. Just NCW 😅🎉
