Thank you for sharing. I hope you have a good experience with HRT. HRT has been life-changing for me in the best way.

I feel you on most of these issues - I have found days where at the end I just need to be by myself with headphones on. I care deeply about my family, but I had nothing left to give. I once told my husband "we can't both be crazy at the same time." That is the truth, I just didn't realize my turn would keep getting skipped : (

Depression and anxiety come with menopause. I had 10 years of not being taken seriously by doctors. Either they wouldn't give me hrt or they would tell me it causes clots, causes heart disease, causes strokes, causes cancer.... the list of fearmongering reasons was lengthy and most of them completely untrue. I had to do my own research and have bought estrogen and progesterone creams. I've also bought dhea cream and just started that so we'll see how it goes. Literally day one of starting estrogen (I'm doing cyclic hormones so I only take progesterone for 14 days in every 28 day cycle) the difference was unreal. No hot flashes and I slept like a baby for the first time in 10 years. Are you not on progesterone? You really should be because otherwise you could suffer from estrogen dominance. I used to think that if you had no uterus you didn't need progesterone but that's untrue. You need progesterone to protect your breasts and also to shed senescent cells.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I too had a child at an older age and am now going through the menopause. It's hard and we need to keep talking about it as it is life changing. ❤
