I’ve got it all down except for the strumming lol. After watching you, I understand I need to PRACTICE not play

Awesome work as usual Shane. That instrumental breakdown at the end is second to none. You always break it down to look so easy. Sign of a expert. Thank you for sharing.

Love, your stuff Shane. However, you've flipped the 2 intro chords here. The Fmaj7 is actually first and the Em7 is second. Also the Fmaj7 is played adding the C bass note, A string third fret, while also playing the low E and letting them all ring out. I just picked that out a few months ago and have been playing it for decades, so no worries man, keep up the great work....

Well done Shane, as usual. Try a Bbmaj7 instead of the too bright Bb, sounds more in line with the tune.

Great tutorial! I was wondering about the strumming pattern of the Fminor and C in the chorus. Should they also follow the BUDU pattern?

  • @rrobillard932

You mention the strum pattern being at the bottom of page 1. I do not see it there. Love your work!

Sorry Real Robillard - and thanks for that. There is a separate sheet entirely with the strumming pattern. Hope you found it. Cheers,

May I ask what your Taylor is? Is it a 1 2 or 3 series? I am looking to upgrade to a Taylor and I like the sound of yours. By the way love your channel thank you very much for sll the effort you put in.

Man I'm digging you lessons the songs and everything and am planning on a patron membership. I like your training style. You also have a great radio voice. However, the work sheet is confusing concerning the rhythm.
The d u d dd d u d dd doesn't reflect what your are speaking... or am I just confused?

just learned this song and then came hear. all good but. I am weary of the absolute. This because there is only one Bowie who was not nesessarily one to follow rules. For example I chose a regular D as opposed to D7/F# . the latter is most harmonic but if you sing you can take the ear where it needs to go. As well I like to think of the moveable chords with open ringing notes which is what you can see Bowie do when he was known to play along. lastly , you can play for the camp fire or the fully coloured stage . ‘far above the moon … ‘

With the intro being that Fmaj7...Bowie still plays the lower E open. When the lyrics start, it's C/G...the bass notes make a difference: C/G ..Em...Am...Am/G...D/F#...try it...it sounds better.

    • @lukas6610
