@@ExternusArmy unfortunatelly, mr Peter Rosenthal's revoews are the only thing left of this channel. Those tik toks are not up to Onion standard at all.

Ah! A contradiction in the Rosenverse! In the review for “Fifty Shades Freed”, Peter reveals he has been trapped in the studio for his entire life. So how could he have a wife? You thought you could fool us, but we fans of the Film Standard will not be swindled so easily. I expect a corrected version of this review by next Friday.
The first time I watched this was in interpersonal communications class in college and the teacher didn’t explain it was a Hollywood movie and I just assumed it was a really well produced educational film.
This review from Peter Rosenthal was trite, overstated, and passionless. At least, that's what all my friends are saying. I thought it was one of his best reviews so far and was touched by his dedication to his wife, but you didn't hear it from me, capisce?
Okay I understand it's just a satire of the review genre as a whole, But it's sort of also a breath of fresh air this. I mean, it's honest as a joke, honesty, a thing you'd hope for in a review, but not many film critiques can really say truthfully all the time. most get payed off to give a good review, or some know how big a fanbase is, and if they don't conform, they're out of a job. The fact this man actually didn't care about the movie, but knew his wife did so still gave it a shot? good for him. I hope his wife understands his judgement and will be happy with him he truly tried for her. He doesn't care at all about the movie but he still tried, and I feel that honesty, is a breath of fresh air. But what do I know, "Honesty" coming from an actor, acting out a part of a critique who's wife loves the thing he's reviewing. how is it honesty if he's acting. Well of course he just did a really great job acting, but also. the story they portrayed was just that darn believable. The Onion is a lovely source of entertainment, and the actor should get a raise, for his performance, brought me so close to biting the onion.

Reiner’s directing is actually almost perfect for the job, exactly because he never gets in the way of the story he’s trying to tell. That’s why he delivered 5 universally acclaimed classics of different genres in that era (stand by me, the princess bride, when harry met sally, misery, a few good men) that many people don’t even associate with him.
I’m just so happy to see Peter K. Rosenthal return to the Onion. His movie reviews are always so poignant. Having him back brings me such joy. Thank you!!!
“The wrong thing to say here is I’m a professional film critic with 40 years of experience and she’s a fucking high school guidance councilor..but, I’m not going to say that.” - passive aggressive film analysis at its best. Bless you, Peter 🙏
Well, I'm sold. I'll definitely be adding this to the list of films I'll watch with my wife. If only to help reassure her that her opinions are valued, and that movies like The Seven Samurai or Unforgiven are remnants of a bygone era, where male audiences would feign their glee and enraptured hearts that profess to swell at the ebbs of intense dialog and ache with nuance of character complexities entwined with plot devices that call into question the essence of humanity. Nay, these were but men who had forgotten their tender nature. Men who really wanted to see the hero and villan come to terms with their differences, and realize that even broken men might change their dark hearts. Or, I just don't get to chose the fucking movie anymore. I can't remember...

I'd vote for him second, after voting for the first guy.
