    Scion had all you'd ever need. Their mistake was failure to market, and making the iA and iQ. If the customer just came in and you showed them a red FRS, a silver tC, and a black xB and told them to pick one... Scion would still be alive.

    • @FunkatronicDingus
      @FunkatronicDingus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Ehh the iA/xD weren't bad, I still see both on the road. Both were basically smaller cars (based on the older Yaris I think?) with the base Corolla engine. With gas prices as they are now, they're solid for whoever still owns them.

      @@FunkatronicDingus yeah but consider the target audience that Scion/Toyota were trying to hit
      Bring a teenager to the lot. I’m sure with nothing else to consider most would pick an frs over an iq any day.
      Unless practicality is something you’d consider. Most teens/young adults don’t

      No sir, horse power is the reason. If the xB had the 2.5 180hp tC 210hp xD 130hp if that was the case Scion would still be around and selling.

    I love my tc! It was my first major purchase and got me through college. Now I'm married with a family and couldn't bare the thought of parting with it when I had my son. Surprisingly enough it wasn't too bad fitting a car seat back there (I'm a petite 5'0 female). I'm absolutely thinking about modifying it and giving it a refresh. My husband has begged to buy me a new car, which I told him he can but I will never sell my tc lol. (My dad was a drag racer 🤷🏼‍♀️ it must be Genetic)

    Fun fact scion was not Toyotas first time trying to market to the younger crowd. back in the late 90s Toyota tried to group 3 cars together and called it project Genesis which consisted of the Toyota echo (later yaris), Toyota MR2 spyder and the final Toyota Celica

    I can't believe Toyota thought 29 and 39 were young ages. And were happy with that. Car manufacturers don't understand that new cars are super unaffordable for young people and then throw insurance on top of it.
    Also I'm looking into a tC. I love the looks of them and the fact the back is big and it's a hatch. It's been a pain to find one. I don't want a boring color and I really want foglights but such a pain as so few were sold.

    Not a tC but instead I'm the owner of a 2006 xA 5spd. It's depressing how many xA's I see neglected and treated like trash because of how it lived in the shadow of the xB (also a great car, one of Scion's best). I love my little xA; it's such fun, reliable, easy to drive car. Almost 180,000 miles and it's still going as strong as ever. It's also quite the workhorse, considering 300+ lbs of drum and music shit travels in it very often. Despite the wear and tear, I'll continue to keep it running strong, especially in light of the gas prices nowadays.

    Plus, this 6 speed automatic transmission was probably from the Camry SE, those got the 6 speed automatic transmission regardless of engine. The other models got the 6 speed if you got it with the V6.

    Your gripes about the feel of the temp and direction knobs isn't normal. I have the same bodystyle tC, just a 2013, and all of my knows for my climate control are clicky and tactile.
    I think you just ended up with an example that isnt a very good one. Especially being fitted with that slow sloppy automatic. The manual in this car is excellent, but a bit fragile.
