      Well and isn't a huge part of it already here ??? Man, I cant believe ! I do a very fucking hard effort to give to many people some rare and important images of surfing history and some people like you even complain ... I spent money to be able to publish so many images and I am from a time when YT was extremely limited, technically speaking. Some of my videos are here since 2005 ... 2008 ... and this one, 2012 ... etc ... it was a hard effort, full with love for surfing to bring to surfers and surfing afficionados some nice images ( despite the tracking problems ) of surfing History.

    was this filmed with a potato?

    • @surfskatevideos1
      @surfskatevideos1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have a potato in your eyes instead of regular eye lenses ???
      It's called a tracking problem. Vhs tapes sometimes used to present it.
      It's called knowledge. You can read about it. Eating some potatoes while you do that.

    If you're going to rip off Bennett Productions coverage of this event - at least capture it cleanly. I was the water cameraman for this event, and I'm appalled you even posted such a crappy transfer onto TH-cam.

    • @surfskatevideos1
      @surfskatevideos1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What you call as `` rip off ``, first I would say : did YOU post this event ?? I posted a lot of rare surf footages because I am COMPLETELY inside the surfing environment, it's part of my history since 1983 when I was 11. I worked HARD to transfer many files from very old vhs tapes to dvds and also to TH-cam formats ====
      Second thing : have you ever heard that YT, in the past, was extremely more limited than nowadays when we talk about files resolution / sizes and limits of what is going to be uploaded ?? This video was posted almost 10 years ago ... YT was more limited. Files would be accepted only as Wmv formats and extremely low sizes ( there was a time when even a limit of 10 min to each video was imposed to brazilian channels )
      AND my old vhs tape was dirt, BUT I paid someone to try to clean it and this is the best result. We have a lot of images around TH-cam with different qualities, but you should had considered ( before your so rude and full of prejjudice with a lack of at least one question about the problem with quality - which is more intelligent to do before acusing and criticizing ) some aspects before concluding as you concluded.
      All that I did for years was publishing rare footages to surfing lovers with some epic and important moments of surfing history.
      From a surfer, to surfers.
      Got it ?
      You're welcome ...

    no aerial,... and what's a 're-entry'?,... I just saw an off the top slash, and a floater
    Those auto-generated captions are hilarious, such as @3:12: "... that spread her legs drag..."

    • @surfskatevideos1
      @surfskatevideos1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      `` Re-entry `` was an expression comonly used in the 80's ( maybe in the 90's too ) to a maneuver that in Brasil we used to call `` batida `` . But, yes, the guy who is talking ( not Shaun ) sometimes says some weird and funny things. It was not an aerial, you can say that almost was not a floater ( or, if it was, it was very very short ).

      @surfskatevideos1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sprint-jj3fe Yes, at that time many guys from the tv channels knew nothing or very few about surfing. He is talking about one single comentary, he should have lived in Brasil at that time ... Surfing was almost completely ignored by the Media ( there was only one very BRAVE program called Realce ) and the comentaries were much, much more pathetic than this guy's/ ThX

    Potter’s surfboard looked off point. Hard to imagine he lost all his hair now.
    His last competition with Brad at Trestles a couple years back he totally sucked vs Gerlach’s radical surfing.

    • @surfskatevideos1
      @surfskatevideos1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ok, you're talking about one single competition. But please don't compare Pottz to Gerlach ... Gerlach is an excelent surfer, with a very personal style, he has a name in the history of surfing, he was a very good competidor too ... but man ... POTTZ is POTTZ. Martin Potter is a `` monster `` in Surfing History, an innovator.

    Pathetic film quality!

    • @surfskatevideos1
      @surfskatevideos1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree but you should consider some aspects. It comes from a VHS tape that I tried to recover. Dirt, with some tracking problems in the image. I think that the importance of it, in terms of Surfing History, is much bigger than a `` perfect quality ``. And we have Potter talking with Shaun as a guy that used to make comentaries in a tv channel and some good moments of the heat where we can see both. Sometimes the image gets cleaner, a little bit ... I hope someone has a better version than mine, I tried to make the image be the best that I could but you know ... Vhs tapes sometimes are hard to recover. Thx
