Amanda, I just wanted to say I’ve been watching you for years now. I usually don’t comment on videos, but this one really excited me. I am a solo female camper/overlander. I quite often sleep in my truck, but I do use my tent quite a bit. I was shocked to see how you meal prep. It’s pretty much the same way that I do. I had such a big smile on my face when I saw all of your lists, they are pretty much mirror image of mine. I keep a notebook with all of my meal preps and I start prepping about two weeks before a trip with my lists. You are such an inspiration for me. I love every style of video that you make. I love that you show your meal prep and recipes at home, I love to see the gear that you use, and I love to see you out enjoying this beautiful world we live in. My only complaint is that there is not more videos from you, but I totally understand that you can only do so much. Not really a complaint but more greed from me. lol I get so excited when I see that you have a new video out. I know I’m going to love it immediately. Keep up the great work. Cheers, Amanda. ❤
Just a comment to send my appreciation for your channel. By far my favorite TH-cam presence. Your videos are so practical, useful and beautiful, but not in an annoying “aesthetic” sense. My favorite part about your videos is that you don’t have that you-tube energy or vibe though. You are authentic in a very refreshing way. Thank you for what you’re contributing to this weird place.
Very solid advice. We are doing about the same system. I find myself making leftovers just for camp meals. For example if I’m planning Cuban sandwiches I will make up some pork to use on the trip. Also when making my 10 min camp chili I will cook up the ground beef before hand and vacuum seal and freeze so I just have to warm up at the campsite and not have to worry about dealing with the grease.
Hi can you do a tutorial on notion please ! I’m currently trying to create the same list as yourself and I’m struggling to create it. I can do one with tags as a table but then I can’t figure out how to do the drop down option or get the separate lists for each tag
Cooking and eating while camping are my favorite activities. You always give me great new ideas. (I like to impress the neighbors with the culinary delights we are eating.)
Love this and all of your videos. I have been watching your videos for a couple of years and you are my favorite youtuber. I love to cook too and was excited to see this new video from you. My husband and I are coming to Utah finally to camp in your beautiful state. We are coming in September and are really excited about it. We will be doing a cross country driving/camping trip. I was just rewatching some of your older cooking videos for inspiration, and this video popped up. Yea! Well, thanks for all you do and all the inspiration you give people to get out there and enjoy nature. We are both now retired and have the time to start enjoying it! Thanks again, hugs from Virginia.🥰
That's going to be an awesome trip!! I hope you love Utah. It's such a cool place to explore. Nick is actually from Virginia and we're heading there soon to visit family. Looking forward to the Spring weather out there!
We always do a list similar to you... with the days and meals needed, then I go shopping, prep as much at home as possible. We'll be doing more tent camping this year so wish us luck!
I like the idea of using Notion. I'm not familiar with it, but it looks like a great tool for meal planning! I plan meals similar to you for camping, but I don't assign them to a day. I just count how many breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks I need and make a list of each. Then I decide in camp what meal to make based on time, weather, mood, etc.
Awww your cutie face in the sunshine makes me excited for this summer! I really want to get away from dehydrated meals this year because they do my migraines no favors. ❤
Incorporating the prep at home step has been suuuch a game changer! I personally hate dealing with raw meat at the campsite and I learned I can marinate or even cook them ahead of time. I also love keeping canned chili, corn, pancake mix, and other veggies in my food box, just in case. Great tip for the Notion lists - can't wait to try!
We often go on multi week outback trips. I do a similar list setup, after a darling friend showed me how she did it. Such a game changer! One extra thing i do is cross off the meal after we’ve eaten it. It’s such a no-brainer, lol, but it makes such a difference to know what we _don’t_ have anymore. Occasionally i’ll even go one step further and make a note of how many times we would have liked to eat ‘that thing’ again. So next time i can pack it for more meals. (And invariably didn’t want it at all next time 😂)
Ma’am I found your channel today & as soon as you said “Notion” I was so in lol (okay, I was already in, but that got me WAY excited!!) 😂🫶🏻 loving your videos!
Always such great advice Amanda! Be sure to check out Amanda’s granola recipe too! It’s our new ‘go-to’ from last year’s camping season!! So yummy!! 🏕️
Such great advice! And as a non-curry person, this recipe made me want to give it a try. Loved how you all went from snowy and gray to your beautiful sunny desert location.
Thank you so much for this and all your videos!!! I am a new subscriber and camper and every questioned I googled, your video came up😊 So appreciate your wisdom
I used to plan, like you, and it would give me so much anxiety because I would think I am going to forget something. I know! It doesn’t make sense. Now I just make sure that there is always coffee in my kitchen, I have bottles for milk & creamer. And anything else is exceeding expectations. If I’m missing something, there is always a grocery store close by. Always have mac-n-cheese as Plan B.
Recently found your channel and have really enjoyed catching up. The way you showed meal prep and planning from start to finish was excellent in this one. Hope you all had a great trip!
Wonderful video Amanda! The info on Notion really got my wife's attention. Up to now she's been an ardent paper lister! Thanks to you and Nick! Happy travels!
I love good old paper and pen, but I spent so much time learning how to use Notion that I figured I might as well start using it for camping meal planning too! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yay! I missed your camping videos! Another great video, thank you for your hard work. The sweater came out really nice. I commend you for the patience to hand knit those! The campgrounds near me in NJ opens up for season next month. Looking forward to it.
I'm happy with how the sweater turned out, especially for my first design! More camping videos coming soon now that things are starting to warm up here in Utah 🤗 Thank you for commenting!
This video is awesome! Where is Virgo in your astrology chart? haha Also, this layout for organizing - in general - inspired within me how "to my roots" camping brings me; maybe you and others can relate. Choosing to temporarily or even long term live outdoors stokes my fire in ways that living in a city or in a box just can't do. And as a woman from the Midwest (that's lived and camped all over the country) it's so enlivening to watch this, just like it is to say the word "fart" xD hahaha You rock, girl! I appreciate this video.

That sweater, though! Great ideas, too.

You did amazing on your sweater! Love your videos

I do this...really makes things easier. You really dont require much, to make delicious, easy camp food

Great video! I really liked the idea to have some back-up meals.
My favorite meal when camping has always been breakfast!
Breakfast at camp is the best!!
Ma’am I found your channel today & as soon as you said “Notion” I was so in lol (okay, I was already in, but that got me WAY excited!!) 😂🫶🏻 loving your videos!
I'm new to car camping so this is very helpful--thanks so much!

This was super helpful! Loved seeing how you plan everything out, and create flavorful meals that aren’t overwhelming to make while camping!
your meals always amaze me, for me for 3 night i'm looking at a rib eye steak, a pack of hot dogs and buns and some oatmeal lol
It was so much fun for me to go on this trip with you guys at 8:30 in the morning with my coffee. Love that area as well!

Hello Amanda Nice to Meet You and I Love Your Videos
Recently found your channel and have really enjoyed catching up. The way you showed meal prep and planning from start to finish was excellent in this one. Hope you all had a great trip!
Was already a great video and then you introduced me to notion. Never heard of it but now very excited to try it out. Thank you!!
You're welcome! It took me a little while to learn Notion, but I'm so glad I did because I use it everyday! I watched so many TH-cam videos haha

This was so great thank you!!
Neat video. I do look forward to watching you camp and cook 🤓 it’s like watching a cooking show. ❤❤❤
I loved watching cooking shows as a kid, so I do feel like my dreams have come true getting to make cooking videos on TH-cam! 😄
Great video. See you finished knitting your sweater. It's fantastic.
Thank you! I'm going to talk about it more in my next video!
Thank you for your amazing tips! I'm looking forward to try them at camp soon! Cheers from Spain ♥

What stashed bags do you use
Love your videos but do not see a link to recipe lists you showed, divided into categories.
