I come find one of your videos when I need to relax. They never disappoint. I was so, so burnt out before I watched this. I feel so restored now. Your videos are so incredibly beautiful and moving. Thank you and Nick for all the effort you put into making them!! We really appreciate getting to watch them. (And LOL, Nick at the end!)
The best thing about this video is that it clearly demonstrates you can get out, go car camping, and have a great time! All the solitude and quiet you want, all the exercise you need. Thanks for that.
Love your videos! I was wondering if you could do a video about camping in the rain. Specifically tips for meals to eat/make when it's pouring rain (family of 6 and I know it's bound to happen eventually)
Hi Amanda! Love your videos and quirkiness. You show how much fun you can have camping - even on solo trips. You had mentioned in a video a few years back to ask questions and I’m taking you up on that 😊 Is there a difference between a stashed bag and a reusable silicone bags from the dollar tree? How do you find dispersed camp sites? Also when you use the refillable propane tank for your stove is the hose to link them sold in Walmart or will I need to see a propane dealer or REI? I really appreciate your videos - I learn so much 👍🏼
I make the hamburger helper dish all the time but I never thought about using shell pasta! I love that idea! It creates almost a stuffed shell with the meat stuffed inside! Brilliant! I’ll have to try that next time!👍
I literallly could watch your content EVERY day...great info and Nick's photography and videography are on point! I have been wanting to learn how to knit as well, I'd say you have done very well! Safe travels!
How do you store the meat? How do you keep the meat the right temp for days in a row? How do you keep the fresh veggies fresh? How do you store your trash so that animals-like bears & mountain lion types-leave you alone..?
She has plenty of videos on her channel about food storage and the like. Highly recommend for you to check them out! I learned a lot from her videos when I was planning my first car camping trip back in the fall. 👍
You can organize your food by what you’re going to eat each day. Any meat or parishable items meant for day 2+ you freeze first and pack closer to the bottom so it stays colder longer. Having a separate smaller cooler for drinks also helps because then you don’t have to keep opening and closing the cooler meant to keep parishable items from going bad. Freeze waterbottles into solid blocks for the bottom of the cooler (as they melt, you can drink them!), fill the rest of the cooler with loose ice (put all your food in watertight packaging) then keep reusable ices packs and/or a wet towel over the top of your items before you close the cooler to help with evamporation. Hope these tips help!
Amanda, I'm loving your content ❤️ I love to camp. It's new to my husband and my daughter. I really enjoy finding ways to make food that they'll love while we are exploring. Thanks so much for making these videos and sharing goodies like the Notion app. Super happy!
Hi Amanda! I found you to up my camping game this summer and have watched several of your videos. I saw a couple knits here and there and wondered if you knitted them! I'm a knitter too and I'm just that much more excited to follow you knowing you're a camper AND a knitter! Your sweater is beautiful and I love the nature colors. Keep sharing!
Love the sweater and Nick's truck! We had an '88 and that thing wouldn't die! We finally donated it to a family in need when we had kids and our family outgrew it. But that thing was a BEAST!
Wow! I’m watching all your foodie videos as we are off caravanning for 3 weeksand just discovered you are an awesome knitter! That’s just doubly exciting. Thanks for the great inspiration… now to pack my knitting projects for the trip 😊
The snack bribe to get Nick out of the tent was hilarious! And all the mesh that new tents come with - ugh, drives me nuts in windy sandy environments! I am on the never ending search to find a tent with close-able mesh window and door sections - let me tell you, slim pickings out there. This was a GREAT video, by the way! Loved it!
Thanks for the Eureka suggestion! Very exciting to know there are some options out there! Exactly what I'm looking for, now if they would just make it in a 4 man size. 🤔 Dang! So close! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with such criteria for a tent. With all the super meshy options in the market, you'd think I was the only person looking for close-able mesh.
Great video, Amanda. I have found that I tend to over pack on the food and have a lot left over. I am learning that I dont eat as much when Im camping, so I'm going to try to pack less for the next trip, which is in April.
Love your videos, so many great ideas. Im an older backpacker doing more camping now so this helps. Love the fact you use mostly real foods opposed to prossesed. Thanks again.
That sweater is beautiful! As I watched this video, I am working on a pair of thick socks. Funny since it is 93° here in Tennessee. I love wearing DK socks when I’m done with my camping activities, I have a little homemade teardrop I built and I snuggle in and just love it. I am always knitting, and I am always camping!
That sweater is gorgeous!! Congratulations!! I make all of our camping dinners at home and freeze them so I am only reheating them at camp. Easier for me!
Great video, beautiful scenery! I’d love to know how you choose your yarn and what properties of the wool make it durable enough for camping and hiking
This was such an enjoyable video between the hiking and the cooking and the eating and the goofing around! Also, I am very impressed with your knitting skills, something I would never have the patience for. Big thumbs up. 👍🏻
Love all your content. All your tips and advice have been extremely helpful in my adventures-Thank you! BTW: mind if ask where did you get your green jacket from?
Heck yes Toyota!! So cool over 300k I believe it! Amanda, you have the best ideas for meals and your videos are just so professional and inspire me to really take my camping meals up a notch this year and get excited for the rest of the year, headed to Redwoods..thank you from Oregon!
Totally cool! Can you possibly post a map overlay screenshot with a locator pin of your adventures? The geology views are amazing but where are they? Tks!
Hi! Loved this video and all the funnies throughout! The pristine sand dune looked gorgeous and reminded me of Watkins Glen State Park in upstate New York. I'm planning on camping there in the fall. Once again, your videos of land and food never disappoints and I have already decided that the camper hamburger helper recipe will be my dinner when I get back out tent camping next month!
Yes Nick was using the Hest pillow and I was using a Klymit Drift pillow. Both are great! We have Exped Megamats and love them for car camping. They are so comfortable!
3 hundred an 12 thousand on that truck. That’s epic. I done even know how to write that number. Nick is awesome. Great content. Great sweater. Blueberry pancakes, I’m in.
Your… husband ? The man you are with 😂, could be my brother in law’s younger twin! Wow, he looks more like BIL than my hubs does! It’s weirding me out! I only discovered your channel a few days ago, i’m really enjoying it. The cooking is attainable for the average person. The scenery is amazing! Your jumper is gorgeous! Sadly, i’m a hopeless knitter, but i can see the skill there and the design is beautiful.
I like your videos…. But in this video it was actually humorous to me…your husband in this video seem was opposite of you…..dry and like he didn’t want to be there…🤣🤣🤣

The sweater is beautiful. I love the camping + knitting mashup.
I love the reality camping - the good, the bad and the windy. Gorgeous sweater! I love that we are getting to see more of Nick's personality.
The best thing about this video is that it clearly demonstrates you can get out, go car camping, and have a great time! All the solitude and quiet you want, all the exercise you need. Thanks for that.
Wait, has anyone ever said that you can't have a great time going car camping or get exercise while doing so?

Man, you guys have a great time and a great life. Do you regret doing TH-cam full time and quitting your job. I would love to live your life I think.

I love this video, it's great to see a mix of what you do as well as what you eat in a vlog type video!
Another great video! I would love to see how you do dishes while primitive camping.

How do you clean your cast iron pan while camping so they don't rust?
Great video! What jacket does Nick have? Thanks.

Was that a Hest pillow I spotted? And what were the camping pads you’re using? Love your content! My favorite outdoor channel by far.
Yes Nick was using the Hest pillow and I was using a Klymit Drift pillow. Both are great! We have Exped Megamats and love them for car camping. They are so comfortable!

He has the new Fujifilm X100vi and he loves it!
There’s nothing like a good pair of Sunclouds! Can’t beat the quality for $60 bucks

Why is your kitchen station so far away from your tent??
To help keep critters away from the tent. ✌🏼
Despite being in the desert… those famous hiking sandals did not make an appearance in this video!
Very nice

It’s all about car camping these days.
Flat bread and salsa and you roll it like a joint then eat it
Twisted at both ends? 😂
