Patience and time in the water. Most of the time blue water spearfishing is very slow, takes time and patience to see or make the fish approach. Got to keep focused even if you are not seeing any fish. And most important; don't take "miracle" shots! Only shoot if you are certain you can land a solid shot. If not, let the fish go and wait for a better opportunity. Good luck!!!
Nice job Francisco ! I am a beginner very passionate about diving I am planning at the end of the month to dive of the Florida Miami east coast. I go up 2 to 3 times a year to see my papa and catch for the family lobster hunting and fishing. I am shopping for a intermediate to advance gun 52'' to 60''. I am looking at wood guns told that they are quieter? I think you are using carbon grafite Cressi gun very strong light guns I was looking in to that also but not sure what to go with? I am all hears from an expert like you. Take care & safe dives! Peace
+UniversalLuv I have always used euro style guns, i believe they are enough to land any fish. Carbon are too light and wooden are only for very big guns with 7.5mm+ shafts. Get a Cressi Pacifica or a Geronimo and you will be fine. Good luck f
+UniversalLuv railguns are just as silent as long as you use dyneema wishbones most of the noise made by a regular speargun is due to the articulated steel wishbone hitting back the tube once you've pulled the trigger
I wonder how people would feel if the was a world cup of bear, deer or African game hunting, where ever competitor went out to shoot as many game animals as possible? Why is it ok to kill stacks of fish for the sake of a competition where it is absolutely not fine to kill a whole bunch of fury animals.
We see sharks there once in a while, but nothing that bothers our spearfishing. Don't know of any w.shark siting. I think they are more frequent in the Pacific side of Baja
