  • It's that time of year!!! It's hopper day today. Some of the funnest dry fly fishing of the year is right now. Walking the banks of the river will prove that the hoppers have arrived and will be here for a while. In this video it's hopper day and Curtis is going to test out a few new hoppers to see if the brown trout and cutthroat trout will eat them. Which hoppers will they eat? What are some of you favorite hopper patterns?

    Lance's Bionic Hopper is an excellent pattern especially with a Thread Frenchie tied in the correct color and correct color of bead.

    I found this video to be incredibly helpful and informative. Seeing your decision to switch up patterns/colors helps me to be confident in making my own decision to switch up when I am not getting any action. Thanks!

    I appreciate this content. I like how you walked us through your thought process. Also surprised that moose didn’t take the hopper.

    Thanks so much for not showing or telling us where you were fishing! The last thing we need is everyone in Utah on those small streams.
    (I really want to know though). Haha

    Thanks for sharing this super helpful video! I hadn’t fished hoppers all that much until this summer and was determined to stick with it - little to no dropper - and it has been a blast. Even a good follow can be exciting! Appreciate the insight. 🙏🏻🎣

    Great video @FlyFishFood ! Nice work, Curtis! It's amazing watching other anglers sometimes as many do not keep switching patterns, even while fishing the same run. So cool to see the fish move on the flies, almost like I was making those casts. Super video...now I'm getting stoked to get off the main and into some smaller tribs this week. Thanks folks!! 🦗🎣

      Try it. You’ll never go back. Even in tight situations and especially small streams. And if you’re used to using a 10’ rod, it’s pretty natural

    I will stick with my Whits and Daves hoppers, along with weighted Joes hoppers. Rubber flies have no appeal to me.

    • @FlyFishFood
      @FlyFishFood  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Agreed! We don't like rubber flies either. They don't float like we want them to.
