    Clad my last 2 houses in hardie plank. Used gecko gauges, an absolute must! Also screwed every plank with SS screws. Use a thin porcelain tile blade on an angle grinder. Yes lots of dust but a nice clean crisp cut when you’re joining boards. Took longer but I had the time. Great work guys. Enjoy your videos. 👍🏻

      Use a guillotine when cutting the boards and fiberboard blade fitted to circular saw for better results. Also best to nail rather than screw as the screws can break out the board

    Another fan of the Gecko clamps here. Get the bottom board level, then use Geckos all the way up

    Cut it with a guillotine specially made for this product, clean cuts and no dust, also malco make some shears to fit to a cordless drill for notches and rips

    Nice job. Is that a 30mm overlap? Looks less but I like it

    1st fix paslode works fine, may just need to adjust the depth in which the nail goes.

    I’ve just clad my house in Cornwall in a product called Trespa Pura in a colour called Romantic Walnut. I can highly recommend if anyone is looking for something different.

    I keep hearing about this rule on non-combustible materials for walls within 1m, but can't seem to pin down a proper knowledgable answer to what it is, some say clad non-combustable, others say it has to be brick! please, we need some vids on the rules by someone who realy knows, not just keyboard warriors with their interpretation of something they've watched on youtube, or read in a blog.

    • @rottenbot
      @rottenbot 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no specific law laid out for what it requires... it's down to the interpretation of your local building control officers, so you need to get an answer from them
