That's a poor tune. Too much fuel after closing the throttle. It should settle back down to idle without the rpm dip. If it hasn't been properly tuned by now, it likely will be in the future. Not sure who the mail order tuner was, but Frost seems to get things fairly dialed in without the rpm dips.

I had a older version of this. 228/228 .588 .588 on 112LSA. This was back in 2009 on a 2001 firebird formula.
This 228R sounds more aggressive than the standard ones...LSA of 110, perhaps?

I ran that same 228/228/112 years ago as well. 2003 to 2007. Great mild cam. With WCCH stage 2 #241 heads and BBK shorties and 4.10 gear my M6 C5 made 391/379 at the wheels on A&A Corvettes dyno. It was about 45rwhp bump over stock with that cam and another 45rwhp with the heads.

Fantastic sound, music to my ears! Just ordered a Texas Speed and Performance Cam kit for my 2001 C5. It should arrive this week and plan to install it next Saturday with my friend who is a Mechanic. My C5 already has long tube headers. I can hardly wait!

I’ve always seen more C6 model and C7 model Corvettes with a cam, interesting enough they’ve already experimented with the new C8 platform as well. I’ve never seen ANY C5 model videos showing the cams sound so awesomely played at full volume!! This was a great clip! And it did all the convincing to me to most likely buy one (for the current best market price)!

Now this is the kind of sound I'm looking for if I get a vette. More of a C6 myself. Not just loud for the sake of loud but sounds like a proper beast .

My dream car
I have come to think the C5 is still the best looking Corvette of all. I love watching other people drive mine just to see it from an onlooker's perspective. I'm shopping for a C6 or C7, but not because theyre better looking.
I bought my c5 because first saw it on 2 fast 2 furious . Everyone told me to get a c6 but I didn’t listed I got what I wanted got the c5 and love every bit of it !

Damn right on a base model alll you need is fuel upgrades, headers a tune and a A&A supercharger your over 550 whp. If you have a z06 c5 all you need is e85 fuel upgrades and a super Charger to make 600 wheel that’s 720 crank. Hellcat numbers for 15-20k in upgrades or less if you do it yourself.
I just got my speed engineering long tube headers and x pipe. I have to get a custom to the sound difference now.

I’m curious as to how the SE headers are holding up over time. They definitely flow well for the money.
Anyway, This is a really good cam for stock displacement LS1/6 cars. We’ve made excellent power for people on this general profile while keeping cars streetable and still returning decent fuel mileage while cruising. Add to that a fantastic exhaust note and you have a definite win.
