    This is the exact model I currently own now. Such a nice pistol, best version of the 19 IMO. I’ve owned Gen 2s, 3s, and Gen 4 19s. This is my favorite Gen because no finger grooves and also the front slide serrations. All the upgrades and changes reminds me that Glock is the apple of the gun world.

    I work law enforcement and have come to love and trust Glocks. I love almost all firearms and own a lot of them. Out of all of the firearms that I own, several are Glocks. The department that I work for uses Glock 22 handguns with Glock factory night sights. A Glock 22, is chambered in .40 S&W. I have trained with them for 13 years and counting and some of our range Glocks have well over 50,000 rounds through them and are still on all of the original components that the firearms came with from the factory. Glocks are unbelievably reliable and durable. I have never had a Glock malfunction at all and I have trained with them in every environment and weather. Even in below zero temperatures. I’ve covered my Glocks with water, snow, sand, dirt and mud and they still function.
    With the Glock shown in this video, I have the virtually identical Glock 19. Mine in a blue label, Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS with the Ameriglo night sights from the factory. Mine also has front slide serrations and the half moon cutout gone. The only difference with mine from the one in this video is that mine is a MOS model. Or what is referred to as a Modular Optic System. Or what is more commonly known as a red dot optic sight that mounts in front of the rear sights.
    With a lot of people buying firearms right now due to the global pandemic, if anyone has any questions and has bought a firearm but doesn’t know how to handle them safely or are thinking about buying one and has questions, please feel free to reach out to me. I will be more than happy to help anyone out that has questions.

      Hey, thank you very much for your comment! Honestly, seeing people like you come through inspire me to make more videos regarding firearms. There's a lot of people in the gun community that are very caring and eager to help. I've seen some really cool people come through and sometimes even more than my gaming videos. I get tired of seeing some people in the media and the uneducated paint a different image of gun owners and those that support our 2A rights. And thank you for sharing your first hand, personal experience with Glock. I do get some keyboard warriors coming in on a regular that bash Glock and push other firearms. I don't think there's a one size fits all gun but Glocks check a lot of the boxes and i don't think you can go wrong with any modern Glock. It just does what it needs to do.

      Lil Rice Muncher Gaming, thank you! I have always loved firearms. I was born and raised in Southern California. I will always love and miss the “Home” that I grew up in. My family and I moved in 2003, because the State was passing so many unconstitutional laws and we finally had enough and left. It’s heartbreaking to see what the State has become now. And is getting a lot worse.
      I love the firearms community and love our freedoms, liberty, and rights. I love encouraging or helping others that either have that interest too, or simply want to learn. I also enjoy civilly debating others, that disagree with me on this subject, and/or who have believed the lies, false narrative and propaganda that comes primarily from the left.

    “You can’t go wrong with a Glock.” Generally true, but the grip angle took me a bit of getting used to (years ago).
    I recently ordered a G-19 Gen 5 Ameriglo as a companion for my Gen 3. I was unaware of the 5S update and was pleasantly surprised!
    I like front serrations for chamber checks and I’m glad they ditched the front-strap cutout. I like the G5 stock checkering but could do without the flared magwell. It adds thicknes and serves no real purpose on a gun with a tapered magazine. I like the finish, but I’m skeptical ANYTHING can hold up as well as the old tenifer. My G5 trigger is alright, but it stacks more than my G3; perhaps it’s just sample variation? The G5 mag release is just long enough and probably won’t need an extended replacement like the G3. The Ameriglos are great; front sight pickup is fast; I like them as well as TruGlos, but for different reasons.
    I never thought the Gen 4 differentiated itself from the Gen 3 in any meaningful way. The Gen 5 does.

    Has somebody who used to work in the military and i go on shooting competitions regularly i want to emphasize the importance of the front serrations. While racking the slide the front serrations shave half a second. I am only considering buying guns that have that feature however i do find that on most guns front serrations are way close to the muscle the perfect placement of those serrations is done on the CZ 75 sp01 shadow.

    Dude, get a good weaponlight for it! I highly recommend the Streamlight TLR-8. It fits flush with the muzzle of the 19, and it has a laser in addition to a 500 lumen light that also has a strobe function. It's a solid weapon light for the money, weighs almost nothing and it's quite bright.

I’m pretty excited about it. I would have bought a Gen5 19 back around the time they came out but that cutout made it a no-go for me. I’m so glad they got rid of that crap. I like the ability to make Gen 5 left or right handed, but I'm hoping for Gen 6 to be a truly ambidextrous firearm, not just one that you can swap parts around to make it left or right handed.
    The AmeriGlo bold sights are a very nice upgrade. I also like the high-visibility gunlock; some manufactures (Remington) include black gunlocks.
    I would like a more substantial cleaning rod; they could also include a "thug-plug" (dust cover/insert) for the hollow section of the grip, and maybe a high-visibility chamber flag.

      Good question!! From what I've seen the price difference between gen 4 and gen 5 models of the same gun is actually less than $100 but regardless, I would recommend the gen 5 at this point. When they first came out in 2017, I could understand the argument for gen 4 (because it was out for several years and has been proven reliable) over gen 5. But now, I think it's safe to say that gen 5 is a proven platform as well so that's what I would recommend unless of course you enjoyed a gen 4 feature of some sort (i.e. finger grooves). Quick question. I’m looking into buying my first firearm ever , and have decided on the Glock 19 Gen 5. I see that you listed three different models here, but there is also the MOS version. If I were to get the base model with the fixed sights, what would the process be on switching the sights on it? By fixed does it mean they are forged on ?

    • @lilricemuncher09
      @lilricemuncher09  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey, thank you for your question. The Glock 19 Gen 5 is a great pick and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Anyway, the MOS version is if you're interested in running an optic like a red dot sight. You would also have to get taller sights with this. Anyway as far as sight replacements go, The front sight post is actually very easy to remove and replace. You just need a little sight tool (maybe $5 to 10 bucks)to unscrew it and apply some loctite for your next sight that you screw in. The rear sight is more difficult to remove, meaning you probably need some tools. Ive seen people go the cheap route and get a little punch rod and hammer/beat it out. But the way to do it without any complication is to get a tool to "press" or push it out sideways. It's held in by friction. Haha it's hard to explain but I did this on my Glock 43 last year. There are also many, many shops that would probably replace the sights for you on the cheap as well. Lastly, IMO, if you KNOW you're going to swap sights and you like the Ameriglo sight model just buy the Glock with it already. This is undoubtedly the cheapest way to go instead of buying base model and adding a new set of sights - parts and labor.

    • @jesusflores9865
      @jesusflores9865 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lil Rice Muncher Gaming thanks for the quick reply! You see I’m in Arizona and I’m having trouble finding any shops with them in stock. I was considering going with the Ameriglo option you purchased but it runs at around $753+tax (using sportsman’s website for reference). I just thought paying roughly $800 for my first gun was a little out of my budget. That’s why I was trying to work around it by buying the cheaper option then looking into the aftermarket for the sights. However I didn’t realize changing the sights was such a hassle lol. If push comes to shove I’ll prob go with the more expensive option since I hear the factory fixed sights aren’t very good

    • @lilricemuncher09
      @lilricemuncher09  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Glocks are hard to come by right now because of the pandemic and the disaster preppers. I bought mine from GrabaGun here in Coppell. I am MEGA fortunate that I live literally 15 minutes from them. You wouldn't believe the price I got the G19 with ameriglo sights. $596.45 out the door. I've never seen it cheaper. Anyway, that price that you're seeing is a bit steep for a 1st gun but this one is going to last and be worth it. Honestly, the polymer football post sights on the base model Glocks are plenty accurate, easy to see, and get the job done. They're just not going to be good during the night and/or when there's very little lighting. Maybe another complaint is they aren't as durable but honestly you'd have to beat the shit out of them to do significant damage. I think it'll be okay for your first gun to get the base model. Hopefully, you'll get to try different sights and guns and get a feel for what you like. There are plenty of good sights with tritium that won't cost you an arm and a leg. I have trijicon HD's on my 43 that i installed myself and it was expensive. i think on sale for $125. Haha but good luck to you man. Let me know if you have any questions.

    They also have a new cerakote on the slide of the gen 5, the slide stop is ambidextrous, and now the mounting rail in front of the trigger guard for lights has a 1913-sized notch instead of a special Glock size. Noteworthy if you're mounting a light, because the adapter for the notch needs to be a standard 1913 picatinny size adapter instead of the Glock adapter.

      TheMeoled ,bolt action rifles,shotguns and handguns you can legally have if you are affiliated with the proper shooting club/organisation! It was only semi automatic rifles we lost the ability to own !!

    Front slide serrations for press checks or for people who use an optic and don’t wanna use the optic to run the slide.

    The front slide serrations are for the purpose of racking your slide while a mounted optic is equipped

    How much does the Glock 19 cost?

    • @lilricemuncher09
      @lilricemuncher09  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey, idk if you saw the scam comment earlier (i just deleted it), but you can expect to pay roughly $550 for the Glock 19 with base model sights. if you can get it around $500, I would consider that a really good deal. The prices have went up since the posting of this video. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    I like the front slide serrations, because I run an optic. I have the MOS version with Trijicon RMR and Trijicon tall sights as a backup.

    The front sight is taller? The standard front sight is .165" and it's .200 on this pistol. I shot low until I changed them. I could have changed my POA, but I thought it would mess me up shooting my other Glocks

    I like your review that you gave for the Glock 19 I know I wanted to get a Glock 19 for home defense and concealed carry part of the reason why I can't use the Glock 43 is because my hand size is too large that is the main issue and so Glock 19 would make a good in between I originally had a Glock 17 as my everyday carry but never truly concealed since it's so large and so in my opinion the Glock 19 even though I have yet to try and fire one that's the issue with me is I don't have the strength for a lot of things so a Glock pretty much has to be able to handle my less than able to use of strength I have extremely mild CPS so my only issue I have with Glock I will freely admit it is the strip down of the Glock and part of that is those two little switches in the front are difficult for me that's my downside I have used the basic sites on my Glock 17 and they were I believe I had Gen 4 at the time on my 17th but yes thank you very much you I loved your presentation for out of the box I did not know you could order with amerglow already on it.

    I’m interested in getting the Glock 19 5th generation pistol for a conceal and carry.
    Question: those sights looked different then the other Glock 19s I’ve seen.
    What were those called again ? And how do those sights help OR differentiate from other sights.
    Very curious-
