Enjoying these Montenegro videos. Might actually be worth visiting one day, since prices in most countries in Europe have gone mad. Albania is also on my list.
Yes, the water from the taps at Rezevichi monastery is potable. Very good, cold water it should be. There are three churches in the monastery next to each other, the oldest dating back to 13th century. When I was visiting there was an old monk there in the little souvenir, candles and monastery honey shop. The beach down there from the Monastery downhill (c.two km by car, less on foot through the village) is spectacular and much less crowded than others.
Hi Gabriel, that was quite an amazing day and eye-opening. The castles are always amazing because people live in close quarters to protect each other. It will be interesting once you head over to Durmitor Mountains, which have an amazing 18 Glacial lakes as well as Tara Canyon. There's also an Incredible Forest Biogradska Gora National Park.
Love it when you rent a car and stop at random spots of interest. Enjoyed the castle ruins and the lake was beautiful with the mountains as a backdrop. Stari Bar was fantastic, so full of history with beautiful views as well. Thank you, Montenegro is shaping up to be very interesting.❤❤
There is one magical church in side of the mountain, not Ostrog, but it is on the border of Serbian and Monte Negro. It's in Serbia. It's called Crna Rijeka. It's hidden, nobody goes there, but it is out of this world. Untouched for 100's of years. Inside there is healing water that heals all problems. All the pictures of saints are on the rocks inside. Hidden from the world.
Crooked streets, old olive trees,an orchestra of cicadas,Stari Bar enchanted me!😊Awsome views of the surrounding mountains. And finally that beef goulash looked tempting.
The last frames in Old Bar showed the aquaduct down there. A minute before at the highest point, if you'd gone a few meters down to the railing, you'd've seen the river and the stone bridge deep down in the little gorge.
Gabriel, Montenegro is not a great place for a summer vacation, trust me, I've been there at least 10 times in my life. During July and August the beaches are super crowded, the sea is mostly dirty. The problem with Montenegro, as a tourist destination for vacations, is that the Montenegrin coastline is only a little more than 100 kilometers long, and during the summer season, the same number of tourists crowd into such a small area, as on all the Ionian islands in Greece. And it should be noted how many times longer the coast of Greek Ionian islands is compared to the Montenegrin one. All the Greek Ionian islands, starting from Corfu, all the way down to Zakynthos, have a coastline over 1000 kilometers long.
Montenegro is a wonderful country. I stayed in Tivat, visited Kotor, stayed in Bar, Ulcinj, Virpazar (Lake Skadar) Herceg Novi and Pracinj. Loved every minute. It is very hot, I was there mid May to end Jul. Bar old town was one of my favorite Montenegro old towns.
Interesting that it is another Žabljak, near Lake Skadar, with full name of Žabljak Crnojevića, even with so much historic importance as it served as the capital of old Zeta, nice exploring by you with that. The more touristically famous and bigger Montenegrin Žabljak is of course in north(west) of the country in the Durmitor region where the famous Savin Kuk Ski Resort (with chair lifts to the top to have amazing views on highest Montenegrin rocky mountains), Black Lake and Tara River Canyon (with famous Đurđevića Tara Bridge) are, so that Žabljak in north is known as Montenegrin mountain and winter capital.
I really hope you keep going south into Albania, I was just reading about retirement requirements, very easy to retire there and also inexpensive, it is becoming a hot spot for those fleeing England is what I've been reading. Shkodër, Durrës and Vlora all look like cool cities but all likely full of those on holiday over the summer.
Gabriel has been to Albania twice, saw nearly all of the country, although it can still be some new spots for him in the Accursed Mountains (Prokletije, Albanian Alps), he hasn't explored there yet. But he already said in the video that he has a flight from Podgorica on Friday (I assume that he goes to Turkey as he revealed his plans like a week ago).
Pity that it was such bad weather today but it looks much better tomorrow in afternoon and afterwards at least. Mount Lovćen with Njegoš Mausoleum is a must in my opinion in the Cetinje region but there are also some nice museums in the Cetinje Old Town, like King Nicholas Museum (Nicholas I of Montenegro is known as the father-in-law of the Europe in the 19th century, just like Christian IX of Denmark, as his daughters were married to many different countries like Serbia, Russia, Italy and some German states). Ostrog Monastery is on the path from Cetinje to Žabljak. Have a nice time and weather in Montenegro, Gabriel.
Was planning to visit Lovcen at the end of this video but too tired out. Hoping the weather is better tomorrow morning, because no point driving up to a viewpoint if it's raining. Definitely planning to stop at the Ostrog monastery tomorrow.

Your videos are terrific. Very well done, interesting, informative. For the last 13 yrs I've been trying to convince a American family member to come for a visit, so she can see for herself, how nice this country is, all it has to offer. Not interested. That's most Americans for ya!😊
How do you like living there? What convinced you to move there, specifically? I'm hearing this region of the world is becoming popular for Westerner's and I'm slowly realizing why, thanks to videos like these.
The complete opposite of most countries! The only bad thing I hear from some westerners, 'To slow paced, people don't jump/rush to do work, take their time, will only work if big money is involved, so can't make any big money here'. My response, 'Then stay where you are. Don't come here trying to make this wonderful place into what you left, escaped from. We will make your life miserable'.😊

Beautiful trails and ruins. The beach is dreadful... summer in Europe is extremely busy, everybody takes vacation and beaches and lakes are the spot, especially fleeing the scorching heat.
Hi Gabriel, I know this is a big ask, but can you please go back to Vikos Gorge and do the walk along it.? I know how much you love trecking and that way you will get away from the crowded beaches. Go well Gabriel and keep safe.
I like that you do not pretend to be a PHD in history or archeology unlike many other youtube travelers. Just sort of relay what you are finding and qualify your comments occasionally and observe as a normal traveler, although you do have a nice base of general knowledge, probably more so than the average. It drives me crazy when travelers google 3 seconds before then present info as if they wrote an authoritative treatise on the "second Sino-Japan war" or whatever and what they are saying is gospel truth.
I like the shirt. Global warming is real, was in Thailand, South Korea and Japan. Freaking hot as hell. It crossed over 100 degrees, combined with humidity in the upper 60 and 70%. It's crazy but there are far more people traveling everwhere no matter the season. 30yrs of traveling and my plan is go off the beaten path even more. I love Kyoto but there were far too many Chinese tourist it felt like a invasion.
Great video! I'm going to Montenegro in a few days. I'm renting a car as well. Would you recommend spending time in Budva or driving further down to Bar?
I visited Budva the last time, it's a super touristy scene, but that's the case with all the beach spots. It's hard for me to say which is best since I don't know them all that well, but here are my videos of the beach towns I went to back in 2017: th-cam.com/video/vwyrJRXP-XE/w-d-xo.html

Hi Gabriel, Which laptop would you recommend for traveling (manufacturer, size, weight, hardware)? Reliable, easy to carry and suitable for general purposes including video editing.
While it all looks nice, it definitely seems the wrong time of year to visit, at least for me. Id love to see how this place looks like in may, june or september outsie of the European summer holiday season. And what about the locals? I always like to you know, chat with some people from the place I am visiting. Do people speak English at all? Is it possible to, you know, just go to some local bar and talk to people? Is that even a thing? Because it seems rather uninviting for a solo traveler in that way. A country may be the most beautiful in the world, but if you cant connect with anyone, it still is a bit of a miserable experience. And unfortunately with mass tourism going strong, this is more often the case than not in these type of places. Seems great for families or couples though, who want to combine a beach holiday with enjoying a bit of culture and nice landscapes.
I saw it from the road while I was driving past it, pulled over to find out what it was and considered driving down there. But I was worn out for the day and decided to skip it. Maybe another time, it looked interesting.
Even tennis GOAT Novak Đoković married Jelena Ristić there in 2014, as an interesting fact. I haven't been there for a long time but it seems like in July 2023 this islet re-opened for visitors although entrance fee is 25 € per person, based on some articles.

Hello. I saw you didn’t like all the people at the beach and neither did I. After followed you for a long time, I think you are a beach lover. I also have seen you have visited Sardinia, one beach. Why didn’t you explore some of the 150 beaches around the island? I have been to approx 100 of them, very good experiences!
I had limited time when I went to Sardinia, because I was at the end of my 90 days in Europe. I only had a few days left and couldn't stay any longer. I'd like to go back and see more of the island sometime.
Your recent videos are actually inspiring me to travel less, which I’m already doing. I used to spend 6 months at a time on the road, but now I’m enjoying tranquility at home. The world is just becoming more and more crowded and less enjoyable.
I'm there too! Have been traveling, living off and on in different countries since 1977. Now, permanently living abroad, far away from the toxic U.S. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, nice people, cheap prices. I was getting tired of radiation treatments at airports, country regulations to visit, stay long term. The lockdowns, having to be jabbed, to travel was the final straw. Now, I see all the tourist crowds on the news, social media, madness in many countries, I know I made the right decision to stay put.
I hope, you are really enjoying Montenegro. The heat, thousands of tourists at the moment, are making it less fun. Most will be gone by the second week of Sept. Many of the locals can't wait for that to happen😊
Very affordable prices in Montenegro. Not expensive at all. It'd be great if you could mention the price of Gas per litter or gallon in these countries as well.

Beautiful trails and ruins. The beach is dreadful... summer in Europe is extremely busy, everybody takes vacation and beaches and lakes are the spot, especially fleeing the scorching heat.
Nice, reminds me on Kos )
very good 1
Yeah Budva is on the right(west) and the place straight down below is called Bečići.
Got it, good to know.
Gabe if you had to stay in one spot for the rest of your life where would it be? I’m currently looking for that one special place.
I imagine he would probably choose Greece. He always goes on about how much he loves it there.
Let me know if you find it, hopefully it isn't crowded.
@GabrielTravelerVideos a local barber shop.😊
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I feel ya
Hi Gabriel, I know this is a big ask, but can you please go back to Vikos Gorge and do the walk along it.? I know how much you love trecking and that way you will get away from the crowded beaches. Go well Gabriel and keep safe.
THAT BED LOOKED AS HARD AS A ROCK. AM I RIGHT GABE ? 😂 🤣 😂
Thank you for doing dailies again.
So This is Montenegro!

Trump says that this heat is fake 🤥
From where was the aqueduct fed?
Great video! I'm going to Montenegro in a few days. I'm renting a car as well. Would you recommend spending time in Budva or driving further down to Bar?
I visited Budva the last time, it's a super touristy scene, but that's the case with all the beach spots. It's hard for me to say which is best since I don't know them all that well, but here are my videos of the beach towns I went to back in 2017: th-cam.com/video/vwyrJRXP-XE/w-d-xo.html
This hotel room is so much nicer than that previous room with the mold on the walls. It really does look new and the price of US$50 is amazing, as you said. Enjoy your stay in Cetinje.
What part that wasn't mold you didn't get. He even replied to you that it was nothing on the wall.
I LIKE THE ROMAM MONASTERIES, TREMENDOUS PLACES . SALUDOS THANK YOU FOR TRANSPORTING ME THERE.
Hey bruh, I dig the Romans man. They created a pretty cool 😎 vibe throughout Europe and the Middle East. 😊👍

Hi Gabriel,
Which laptop would you recommend for traveling (manufacturer, size, weight, hardware)? Reliable, easy to carry and suitable for general purposes including video editing.
I'm on my third Lenovo Yoga, they do a good job.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Can you name the model you have?

🙏🏻👍👍👍❤️💚❤️👍👍👍🙏🏻
🙏🏻Thank you for a beautiful video🙏🏻

You should also visit Sveti Stefan, it's not far away from Budva :)
I saw it from the road while I was driving past it, pulled over to find out what it was and considered driving down there. But I was worn out for the day and decided to skip it. Maybe another time, it looked interesting.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos great, waiting for the next episode!
Even tennis GOAT Novak Đoković married Jelena Ristić there in 2014, as an interesting fact. I haven't been there for a long time but it seems like in July 2023 this islet re-opened for visitors although entrance fee is 25 € per person, based on some articles.
@@Ojstra Sveti Stefan is example of failed privatisation, first it was kind off crazy to give whole 700 year old fortress to private company who just lock whole town for years ,there were many protests in front of it and it will probably nationalized and opened again

Best “off piste” beaches of Europe!
Also he would need about 100+days only to Sardinia...
Your recent videos are actually inspiring me to travel less, which I’m already doing. I used to spend 6 months at a time on the road, but now I’m enjoying tranquility at home. The world is just becoming more and more crowded and less enjoyable.
You sound like great fun
@@AodhanP don't be like that, if you have nothing good to say
I'm there too! Have been traveling, living off and on in different countries since 1977. Now, permanently living abroad, far away from the toxic U.S. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, nice people, cheap prices. I was getting tired of radiation treatments at airports, country regulations to visit, stay long term. The lockdowns, having to be jabbed, to travel was the final straw. Now, I see all the tourist crowds on the news, social media, madness in many countries, I know I made the right decision to stay put.
My impression of this video is totally different. Everywhere he went - the ruins, castles, Roman mosaic, monastery - he was more or less alone.
I hope, you are really enjoying Montenegro. The heat, thousands of tourists at the moment, are making it less fun. Most will be gone by the second week of Sept. Many of the locals can't wait for that to happen😊
Yeha!
It looks like you went to the ghetto areas 😳😰
❤
The beach looks like a people zoo 😂
Very affordable prices in Montenegro. Not expensive at all. It'd be great if you could mention the price of Gas per litter or gallon in these countries as well.

Several people brought to your attention that a juvenile and racist comment was left in this thread yesterday, but for some reason you're ignoring it. I'm shocked. 😳
There are tons of inappropriate comments every day, which I delete and block people as necessary. I'm not sure which comment you're referring to.
