I also liked the storage room sneak peek! Would love to see a tour of their workplace. They just have to have so many different parts stored, how do they keep track??
@RestorishOfficial i was thinking of it as soon as you brought out the eraser, I said clear matte model spray to myself. Really glad you thought of it too. It came out great. Way better than those black scuffs
Great results in the spirit of Restorish. It looks much better than before, which for me is often enough to renew my enjoyment. Also loved a sneak peak of behind the scenes!
I use a gum and tar remover on a cotton swab to get rid of scuff marks. I go very lightly. Test it on a old piece of plastic before using it on consoles.
I honestly thought you were going to leave it after those buffing solutions. Really glad to see you went the extra step and did an amazing paint job! I couldn’t see the mark at all with the very end results!
I saw this on eBay and thought to myself that I should buy it, but I don’t have the funds to just throw into a console that I won’t resell. I buy consoles to fix and resell them for profit. They paid $399 for this, which being that it is a prototype, I think it was a good price
I enjoy watching your videos. I really appreciate the testing of other methods and the candidness of the results whether good or bad. You should try a product called Release. I’ve had some positive results using it on a number of different applications. It’s designed for cleaning many soil types and surface types without damaging them. Maybe it would help future cleaning needs without the Magic Eraser. 😃👍🏻
Good idea to sand the plastic with 1500 and hit it with a matt lacquer but I can’t understand why you didn’t do that to the whole case to give a uniform finish.
Great video! I like to keep my consoles in pristine condition and with my black Series X, something fell onto it and transferred some white paint onto it, I couldn't get it off for the life of me, and bc I used something a bit too abbrasive, it left a real shiny mark compared to the matt finish, it's only minor, but really bugs me lol. Especially when I'm always so careful to not damage my things
I have a PS3 Slim that has a shiny spot where I definitely left the heat gun too long when trying to remove the warranty sticker haha. Thanks for the idea with the matte finish spray.
Sugar or salt are as good as anything for a cheap natural light abrasive with washing up soap ...works wonders put a splash of lemmon juice in for a bit more zing if needed..again cheap and natural..
I wonder how good that matte spray would look on a black surface. I have tried to restore a few retro consoles myself and it is easy to get the zebra effect when working with a black finish.
Another great video! But why are you not covering the rest of the Xbox when you are clear coating it? There is 100% gonna be overspray all over. Just cover it with newspaper or plastic and the finished product will be even better, just saying.
@@RestorishOfficial yeah thanks. Btw I bought a quest 2 a few days ago with deep scratches on top and a broken side arm which was fixed already. I bought for like $100. So I used sandpaper from 1000-7000 grit to get rid of the scratches and now it looks so good and and functionality wise it's like a 10/10 and also I just might buy the clear matte spray cause after sanding with 7000 grit sandpaper and then polishing it, it has become way to smooth compared to rest of the device. Visually you can't tell the difference
Steve is like the Stan Lee of Restorish with that Cameo. Also, Bravo on that restore, I think it looks amazing.
Nice cameo Steve!
I liked the end result of the ish-restore. 😉

Great outside the box ideas there. It was awesome to see Steve appeared in your video. Keep it up bro!
Very nice end result. Good shout on the clear matte spray! Wouldn't have considered that myself 👍🏻✨
Thanks! 😊

You have a real careful and delicate hand when you clean. Good stuff.
Good one, liked the flow and the voiceover!
Great job on this one Robert! I was glued to the screen to see how you would handle this one

Sometimes I use nail polish remover to get shiny surfaces matt. But it can be very hit or miss, depending on the kind of plastic and its texture.
For those unaware, nail polish remover is generally just acetone
Thank you for the entertaining videos and for also accidentally letting me know I needed to clean my computer monitor

I will add that those surface restoration kits - work via abrasion.
Welp you did exactly what I thought you would do with that matte coat! Seems to have worked.

Ill be curious if that works for you :)
Nice job cleaning other rare console.
Hi dude nice video
Ready to be used as a doorstop again.

Prototype all digital series x. Got it
gran video amigo saludos desde españa
Good job
Have you tried denture cleaners as a non-abrasive way to remove stains?
Just a thought but did you consider using the magic eraser on the whole front side to make the appearance more even?
I wonder how good that matte spray would look on a black surface. I have tried to restore a few retro consoles myself and it is easy to get the zebra effect when working with a black finish.
I haven't tried it yet, but I will
I never knew that magic eraser was a sandpaper

0:30 what would you like to call your move
Try g35 car plastic removal/polish
Are there fr ethical or religious reasons for not using magic eraser or was that a joke?
It was a joke
@@RestorishOfficial Oh got it. Btw my tone wasn't like a Karen tone. I just genuinely had a question and thanks for clearing that up.
No worries! I thought about it when I made the joke that it might not be clear. I'm glad you gave me a chance to clarify at least in the comments :)

A lower grit paper to start the sanding process would have got you a perfect result.
