I have created a podcast from my book “Beyond the Algorithm” with NotebookLM. I must say the result is quite impressive. The tool seems to be a game changer.
Thanks for this. Works very well. The one thing they need to do is either produce a stereo file with each speaker in their own channel or two files with one speaker per file. That would make the audio much easier to use for projects.
I was intrigued by your title which says the podcasts are better, but you never said how. Apart from the transcript, it seems the same to me. I can add custom instructions in LM and upload PDF's too. One thing I would like though is some way to use British accents, for those of us in the UK.
Transcribe podcast in google lm by uploading the audio and transcribing it, then use tts like F5 or voice changer like RVC to convert to someone with a British accent
It’s still very limited because it only works with that one data base unfortunately so notebook Lm is still better in my opinion but this has lots of potential as well. Good video video and I agree it’s great for teachers.
You'd need to i) Get a text transcript of the recording and isolate one of the speakers text ii) Convert it with a TTS/ clone of your voice or record your own voice iii) Then edit that new audio back in. Tbh I think it might be quite tricky on the timings, and it would prob lose some of the flow/ cadence of the original.

If you've earned yourself an audience stay true to them and keep actually doing your podcasts!! :)
@@High-Tech-Geek NotebookLM podcasts are always "cute" and created from one point of view, the general public. As a teacher, I experimented with training modules intended for students, but the podcasts totally missed the intended context. I'm waiting for the ability to guide or direct the creation of the podcasts.
Having tried Illuminate now, I'll pass. Snoresville! NotebookLM is so much more engaging. Both products probably use the same voice model but the output is so different. It goes to show it's not just about the technology, it's about... how you use the technology. How do you make information more interesting to the listener? That's the million dollar question, isn't it?
Google illuminate still doesn't allow me to use it because you need to wait in a stupid qu... I mean it Google notebook LMS more usable than illuminate because illuminate you need to wait in a user selection thing and wait for it to email you and then you will be able to maybe use it.

Hace 9 día no se podía customizar la conversación. Por eso es que el video dice que e smejor. En ese momento lo era.

This video has been a game changer for my understanding!
Waitlist only 😥 (in the EU)
not here in Germany.
In Malta there's a waitlist @@johnwheatley231
Ditto Spain. But it seems to be basically the same as NotebookML, with fewer data upload options.
sounds really good , on waitlist hope get access soon
Great find! Thanks for sharing. Just need to be patient now as there is a waiting list 😅
very useful video. weldone sir. very informative.
Do they stop using the word "exactly" all the time on Illuminate? ;)
That's a good question, I know what you mean.
@ShockingTrueCrimeChronicles absolutely
Not exactly.
100%
Exactly
Can you upload your own voice to the podcast as one of the voices? My audience would be confused to hear an unfamiliar voice.

Thanks. I was disappointed with the NotebookLM podcasts as they were not in context with the text and intended audience.
Can you elaborate? What do you mean? Were they too dumbed down?

So in the future when you can use your own data to generate a podcast this might be useful? Thank you.
You can already do that in NotebookLM.
Great, can we create podcasts in german also?
Thanks for your video! I can only join the waitlist here in Germany. Maybe it is not open for eu countries.
Hi How do I contact you?
Are you able to edit the transcript of the podcast like Descript?
Interesting, but I either need the API, or I need Sonnet 3.5 computer use to be able to automate creation.
how do you access it? there isnt a link in your description
If illuminate makes a better podcast, then why google replicates in notebook lm ? Why the redundancy
each are different products sharing some components. Google doesn't know which of these products will end up in their graveyard.
I think they are experimenting which one will be subscription based and will be high-end product.
Because they love replication. And redundancy, too!
Illuminate
They always do that so they end up shutting it down after a few years of desperate marketing 😂
I am getting to know this. I will try it out
Thank you 👍
Good day sir. Thanks.
You're welcome!
Can we make the illuminate similar to notebook LM where two characters talk with specific directions given to each character ?

How can I get the audio in other language different than Emglish?
Why do I have to be “ on cue” to use and experiment Illuminate? That is not an illuminating app. I’m sticking with LM
what the defference then btw both them ?
But how is that better than notebook on, you cannot even use your own data!
Tell text to speech voice-over free and very natural type
Help please. In NotebookLM the audio generate option is NOT showing up for me. How do I convert a doc into a podcast. Thx
Go to your web browser settings and zoom in to see the audio generate option
Is there a way of creating a single voice podcast?
For some reason Illuminate it is not available and asks me to register to be on the waitlist !!!! Why is that?
How is this better than NotebookLM? The only thing I saw was you can see the transcript. I was hoping to customize the voices.
Google illuminate still doesn't allow me to use it because you need to wait in a stupid qu... I mean it Google notebook LMS more usable than illuminate because illuminate you need to wait in a user selection thing and wait for it to email you and then you will be able to maybe use it.
The domains allowed is still limited.
Can there be a one person podcast... Not the two person version
I haven't seen that option.
Nice
No really! Did you even try it?
Will teachers even exist in the future. Elon now have assistant robots. Education by AI is very easy to implement.
Don't underestimate the value of the human connection.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
