    So… AI agents are generic machine learning programs (GMLPs) that work in compartmentalized areas. (Like making plane reservations or opening a service ticket on a help desk.)
    This will allow programmers to quickly create an application that can answer the phone, take a flight reservation or open a service ticket for lost baggage.
    Different companies will provide competing GMLPs (agents) with patches and improvements, just like apps in the Apple Store.
    Agents are premade adaptive ML modules that you can put together quickly in creative ways to accomplish tasks that would take years to create from scratch, allowing you to prototype or implement hundreds of possible applications in the time and resources to do one today. Neat.

      Not correct. The AI agents will spin off of a small AI when needed. Imagine an AI that say runs Southwest Airlines. The Main AI spins off a ticket seller AI when a client Ai asks for a ticket. Developers won't be needed nor coders.

    AI agent, as it is explained here reminds me of the executive function in the brain the way both of these have explained to me and snd seem to be from my understanding. I am on the neurodivergent spectrum and one of the traits I have is a deregulated executive function. That has caused a lot of unnecessary stress and unintentional misunderstandings in my life. The AI agents do not take offence to my lack of eye contact, my persona preference for text over voice, video or in person communication, my obliviousness to social cues. They will actually answer my questions and no assume my question of "I don't understand, please help?" to an instructor while in a course to learn what i'm asking about. Although, in some subjects I still hit the limit of human understanding and am presented with "it is true because we say it is true and you are not allowed ask about it and I'm not going to tell you because we also assume everyone knows and that it is impossible to be unaware of this obvious and intuitive property of reality"

      I think we'll be rapidly shifting away from capitalism, now, since the growing wealth divide will increase exponentially from leveraging this technology. Early adapters will probably become super rich, but they'll leave everyone else in the dust.
      But it's hard to build alternatives to capitalism if we're busy using AI to create exponential businesses. Once everyone is doing that the apparent labor savings will turn into mandatory overhead on our work lives and everyone will need to be using lots of AI to how to keep a job. So we need alternatives to money powered economics.
      I also recognize the huge potential of AI as a labor saving device if we do manage to interrupt the capitalist paradigm. I just hope I'm the meantime the people getting super rich stay looking out for all the people they're outpacing and stepping over. You can't just inject AI into the economy and expect everyone to keep up, it's like giving the economy meth. I hope the competitive economic system gives way soon. I'm focusing on distributing resources without money instead of focusing on making more money, I talk about it on my channel.

    AI Is all fun and games until we give it hands (agents). Then it's fun and games and the possibility of massive calamity. For example, when the military gives AI agency to decide when and who to shoot. Remember, the word "Agent" is what we call something that has "Agency." Agency is full permission to do something. Buy airline tickets for me, book hotels for me. So we are in for interesting times when AI does something with its agency that we don't understand and, perhaps don't even desire. Agency is the part of the AI revolution where I wish people would take their feet off the accelerator.

    Jeremy Rifkin wrote a book in 1996 called ‘The End of Work’. Technological unemployment was a term first coined by Keynes in 1930. The impact of this tech coming on line will put millions of people out of work. They won’t all become entrepreneurs opening coffee shops or running hot yoga classes! If we don’t change our global economic model this will be yet another blind leap forward into the unknown! We need to shift from a market/scarcity system to an access/abundance system. If we don’t, millions will suffer.

      @ I had an interesting chat with GPT a couple of days ago. And was encouraged by the response to my question - ‘What we are seeing in our world are the tools to enable a post scarcity economy coming on line. A UBI would only function as a transitional measure. Until key governments sit together and discuss the now clear and present opportunity to create a world only few of us can even contemplate, we’re just rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic!’

    • @Graveltongue
      @Graveltongue 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      An unconditional Universal Basic Income (UBI) is the only practical short term solution to a high output/low employment economy. A ‘solution’ that will paper over the cracks of the challenges, and opportunities, we face as a species. Gene Roddenberry (Star Trek), Jacques Fresco, Buckminster Fuller et al, envisioned a future without money and material possessions. A sort of Marxism with robots! If those free market acolytes don’t let go of the reins soon they’re going to pull us all over the edge with them!
