- Knitting a pair of the fingerless mitten is not hard if you know the basic. In this video, I use worsted weight yarn and a 5 mm circular needle. Knitting from the finger down so it is easy to try on anytime for the best fit.
- Pattern -
Cast on 30 stitches with a stretchy cast on or long tail cast on. Knit 1 x 1 ribbing for 5-6 rows and change to plain knitting until the thumb increase.
Increase 10 stitches with the backward-loop or knitted cast on methods.
Continue plain knitting for 3 rows before start decreasing.
Decrease the middle of the 10 stitches by knit 2 together. Decrease every other row for 5 stitches, then decrease every row for the last 5 stitches.
Knit 3 rows until the wrist (adjust the rows according to your hand size)
Start 1 x 1 ribbing. Knit the ribbing for 10 - 12 rows or as long as you like.
Bind off loosely or use any stretchy bind off.
Thumb ribbing
Pick up 14 stitches on the thumb hole and decrease 2 stitches to close any gap/hole. Knit the 1 x 1 ribbing for about 5 rows and bind off (stretchy bind off).

This is the best "how to" circular knitting for mittens I have found! Many many thanks !! 🥰
Thanks!
This is the best tutorial for these I’ve seen!
Great idea to start back and forth first!
Thank you! I've been looking for this pattern for a while now and nobody seems to have it. This helps a lot 😊💕
Thank you for an easy to understand pattern! Your ring is beautiful.
Thank you! It is a simple jade ring.
Thank you🥰
Great video. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the tutorial. I've never used the magic loop method ever. Can I confirm that I've to use the magic loop method all the way after the top ribbing, until the bottom of the mitten?
I’m confused with the decreasing... So we have to deacrease on on side and not on the other or decrease on round and not on the other??????
Where did the yarn end come from when you pick up the thumb stitches? There is no yarn end there.
You have to attach new yarn when picking up stitches for the thumb. Leave a longer yarn end when attaching the new yarn so you can use the yarn tail to sew up any hole/gap between the thumb and the index finger. Sorry, it is confusing.
@@CreativeTien Thanks, I did figure it out in the end. :D Love the pattern, I've made several pairs now. :)
@@CreativeTien a quick question is about the decrease..... since i did a k2tog in the ten stitches like you said... i have nine stitches now..... so how may i evenly decrease the the stitches along with the odd number of stitches left to decrease (ex. 5 left to decrease of 7 left of 3 left to decrease)
u learn very bad i ame confusing
