I think all was in Invoker's plan. he needed to remake the world so can his girl live, so he could teach her how to fix the dollhouse (the world), so she could insert herself in the old world. Remember that he made the Tower for her and that the Tower would survive anything, in other words the Tower is its own little universe.

do you think it was his plan all along tho? i started thinking that, but now im thinking that he changed his plans mid-process due to Filomena grabbing his hand
so you think that Filomena was definitely in on it?
who do you think Filomena was speaking to in the final sentence?

@@bridge4 I don’t believe she was in. When she was holding his hand, I think it means that she accepted her fate and OG universe have to be restore. IMO, Mirana restored balance but allow Filomena to lives since she knows what its feel like to lose someone. She gave a chance to Filomena to live in the OG universe.

@@bridge4 I think it was all along. I don't think mirana was able to make the forge not work when they went back in time, but I think the invoker finally found out filomena did not want to reshape the world. So the invoker just used the forge to bring her back and not remake the universe

hey Kev. at the tree, she told her father: "Nothing is beyond repair. Papa, I was thinking. Perhaps there is another way. A better way."
the last two lines were suspicious. but im with you in terms of how i interpretted her reaching out, holding his hand, and leaning her head in. it seemed like that was a way of showing her courage in accepting her fate. or should i say, her destiny. :-P (shoutout to the feisty Oracle lol)
ooh, i jsut finished reading your comment. so you think Mirana chose to bring Filomena back!?!? if so that's a dangerous move due to the butterfly effect
the reason that idea doesnt resonate with me is ... if she's not afraid of the changes that will result from bringing back Filomena, why wouldn't she do the same for Davion and Marci?
here's some tinfoil. i doint think there is anything here, but this is what i thought of the very first time that i watched the season. during s3, Filomena entered Mene's memories (Fymrym's memories). so Filomena walked around in Fymryn's shoes. did they form some sort of a connection due to that?
in one of the final shots (right before or after Mirana found the Archronicus book), Fymryn is at the broken tower and she looked down at the coin that the Invoker gave her in Season 1. the first time i saw the ending, i had assumed that Fymryn changed appearance to look like Filomena and then rebuilt the Tower the way that Filomena would have
i dont know why she would have worn Filomena's image. i'm just throwing it out there as being my first thought for whatever that's worth. but then the second time through, i noticed that Filomena had the rot on her neck, and it disappeared. so i stopped thinking it was Fymryn in Filomena disguise for lack of better words. so now i believe it was truly Filomena in the "original reality."
still dont understand how tho lol

    • @bridge4
      @bridge4  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

when you say "all along," do you believe his plan started all the way back in the original reality, such as when he asked for Mirana's help going to Foulfell? in other words, did he plan on Davion dying, so that he could use all eight Dragon Souls on the Forge? (i can buy into that since he did sort of mock Davion when he gave him the five. saying something along the lines of "until you die")
but was his plan always to recrate Filomena in a different reality, and then come back to the old one? if so, why did he try 12,403 times to make that one work?
side note: here's something im still confused about... why did he go up to the moon and release the Arc Warden so as to cause the cataclysm? i guess that doesnt make sense to me unless his plan was already to get Mirana to reshape the old reality, and somehow get Filomena there as well

Filomena asking “do you love me” at the end kindof worries me because that line always seemed to be the mark of the weird sort of self obsessed nature of the gods. Of course we had Selumene, but Fimryn/Mene also seemed a little more unapproachable in the new timeline. I just hope she hasn’t lost her good, kind nature now that she’s in the old timeline.

It’s pretty clear it was the Invoker’s plan from the beginning. The story about the house was the key, Filomena would only accept the universe rebuild if it would be her decision but knowing the cost of it she refuses so the Invoker pull the strings to let her think her plan is the right one. The Invoker wanted a world in which Filomena could live and probably with “this will be the last experiment” could represent that he finally understood that to achive it he needed to sacrifice himself not living with her daughter.

I was actually shocked by how good this season was and how it made the two previous ones so much more coherent and interesting. Because back in the first season I expected some fun adventures set in the world of Dota (I've been playing Dota 2 for about 8 years, so I love the setting), and was happy with it, although I thought that many plot points were kind of thrown out there and nothing happened with them (like the dire crystal in the snow cave) and I concluded that is simply the issue of the writing. Then came the second season and I was disappointed because nothing really made sense, neither standalone nor together with season one. But season 3 subverted everything 180 degrees, the whole another reality thing answered most of the questions, filled gaps, gave a proper meaning to the events from previous seasons. My jaw literally dropped when I realized that Filomena entered Fymryn's memories, it really was happening back then, or should I say simultaneously, as Invoker and Selemene's responses matched both Fymryn and Filomena's words. It was so good. So yeah, this season made me TOTALLY change my opinion on the series, and now I know I need to rewatch the whole show from the beginning.

The thing that kinda frustrated me world-building-wise was that, with there being _a lot_ of godlike\beyond godlike entities, nobody ever tried to stop TB or Invoker from going on with their shenanigans.
But then, at the end of S3, the writers kinda excused themselves on this point, first with Mirana recalling Oracle's prophecy(revealing that Oracle knew precisely how things would turn out), and then with Shopkeeper seemingly also being aware of what went down. Filomena is now a goddess.
The Invoker used the Forge to bring her back before it disappeared.
"Do you love me?" is used mainly byy Selemene the goddess. (And only sarcastically by the Invoker while he was addressing Selemene herself).
The Invoker finally decided to bring his daughter back without the disease, "letting go" of the daughter he knew for a "different me" (as Filomena describes any version of herself without the disease).
I say she's a goddess because they make every effort in that last scene to show us that this is a different Filomena with a higher power level -- also, she was glowing.

I have a theory. When Filomena told her father about her sickness, she told him that to heal her he would have to turn her into someone she is not. We also know that the forge can be used for more subtle changes than simply remaking the whole universe. Therefor, I think that the Invoker used the forge and the dragon's souls to bring the Filomena from the new timline into the new one, but with a new body free from the illness. Her smile at the end seems to prove it since she would never have been happy with being brought back at the cost of others.

    • @2495781
      @2495781 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I see that as a possibility another is how she said the Sickness is a constant in her life. Something tied to who she was. A destiny that it will always claim her and all the Invoker could do is push it back. But since in the old world she had already died bringing her from another could have broken that binding of fate. Since she said no God, Medicine, or magic could heal her.

With the book sealed, Filomena already memorized the process (as was mentioned in one of the episode). Like the Master Craftman who made her the doll house, it was able to create a doll house of her liking and able to fix it if its broken. Mirana created/restored the world and Filomena was able to fix what is broken hence she is able to exist on the original universe.

First off i want to clarify that Kaden called Bram "Father" because he was the only dragon knight left that was very knowledgeable, like the old Father, instead of being combat focused. He was a scholar and a book nerd. When he said he could work the forge, he meant the weapon forge from Dragon Keep, not the reality forge of the Invoker. He reforged Davion's sword because he had learned the process of metalurgy from one of the many books he had read. Just wanted to clear up that confusion you had there.
Now let us discuss the ending.
At the end, when Filomena said "there is another way" she meant that there is a way to restore the old reality but also to restore herself (i think). When she took her father's hand she reminded him how much she loved him and so HE managed to let go of the Filomena he loved, just like in the prophecy. In every reality he had created, he would make Filomena from his own memories so in each reality she would have the disease because that was the only way he knew her.
By letting go of his own idea of what Filomena should be like, he also let go of the damaged Filomena and only kept the pure love of his daughter in his heart, knowing he would never see her again. By releasing her this way he was also able to save her.
When Mirana remade the reality from her memories she also brought the Invoker back with them but he brought a purified image of Filomena with him in his heart. She manifested in the old reality from his pure love of her.
In the end Filomena asks "do you love me?" refering to her father, but it is a retorical question because she knows he loves her, otherwise she would not be there.
This is how i see the ending anyway. What a beautiful and amazing journey this anime has been. I enjoyed all of it and it shows that american anime has come a long way almost reaching the peak of top notch japanese fantasy and sci-fi anime story telling.

After watching Arcane, I thought there was no way this series would be able to top it (being a Dota fan it was kind of annoying that LOL topped DOTA in the cinematic genre). After watching the third season... wow. I've got to say, what a story writing master class from the writers. The execution might not have been on par with Arcane, but the story was very well crafted. Although I do think one or two more episodes for each season would have helped with the pacing. The third season was a massive home run. Enjoyed every bit. I even cried towards the end :')

I also watched Arcane and Dota in that order, and having extensive experience with both games since their respective betas, i felt like I had a pretty clear understanding of the mindset and motivations of the developers behind the games. As such, i was cautiously optimistic for Arcane and had very low expectations of Dota: DB. At this point it is safe to say that Arcane is deserving of the universal acclaim it received, but Dota:db honestly had no right to be as good as it was. The only explanation i can think of, is that Valve execs took a step back and, wisely so, gave Studio Mir a lot of creative freedom. I dont know whos responsibility it was to craft the core narrative, but I think it is safe to assume that they are creative geniuses mired in passion for their craft.
Although season 1 is somewhat generic, season 3 is incredibly bold and ambitious. It could easily have gone wrong and left the viewer perplexed and with a feeling that the narrative team had bitten off more than they could chew.
Except it didn't. The ambitious narrative plot was actually matched with a nearly flawless execution.
Arcane has no doubt set a new standard for future anime, especially for video game adaptations, but Dota:db is perhaps the biggest surprise in recent years. It had a lot against it: a cringy titel, generic industry-standard animations, and was based off an IP belonging to a financially aggressive game developer that caters to a fanbase not exactly known for their emotional depth or maturity.
Miraculously they somehow subverted all that through sheer talent, and i am honestly in awe of Studio Mir. Can't wait for season 4.

But just as a stand alone experience, while the whole thing wasn’t perfect all round, and Arcane has a level of masterclass itself in its presentation, the script and writing for DOTA:DB is absolutely masterful and of the NETFLIX game adaption anime’s it’s the one that has stayed with me the most since I watched it last year. In terms of themes and plot, they somehow managed to bite off so much, and yet do it all nearly flawlessly as you say. I’m legitimately in awe at that.

The ending is such a mystery!!! So many theories! Honestly, my theory is that Mirana brought them back to the first reality and Filomena was actually evil like her mother and the invoker had to accept it now but that was the reason why he kept changing realities in the first place because he failed her as a father. But of course if there is going to be another season than we would find out. I really hope so! Davion probably won’t return but he would have a son who acts just like him instead and would become the main protagonist.

What make this special the the presence of mad moon aka the 3 big pieces of primodial mind. And I doubt that is the reason why elder titan make a huge mistake when forged it.
The 8 eldwyrms is the part of fundamentals used to forge this sole world, while enigma, Io, Ck, Kotl... is the avatar of whole fundamental in all universe, all worlds that forged. So why they would give a f when a little world reset many time?

Invoker speaks about how 'causality was the second lesson' when he is referring to using the forge. It's possible that rather than taking Terroblades deal, he rather worked out how to bend causality such that his daughter could be in the original world, perhaps the tower was in a pocket dimension (it was, after all, in ruin at the end of season 3). Whatever way he achieved it, this is what I believe happened. However, I don't think everything was planned by him after he first used the forge. I think he originally didn't know of a way to recreate the original world, and stubbornly kept remaking new realities, but eventually realised Mirana could remake it.

I think in the end, it was Filomena and also it was Fymryn/Mene, maybe somehow their minds connected eachother in the new world itteration(it become previous now). We saw Fymryn at the tower and after cutscene we saw Filomena fixing the tower, I think it was Mene but she also has mind of Filomena and Filomena we saw was just her image by Mene and when we saw her wounds become healing, it was actually not healing, Fymrin/Mene chaging her look to herself back and the last word: "do you love me?" this word almost always told by Mene :)
Also when you look at the tower fixing "magic" it doesn't look like magic of Invoker or Filomena, the shape of it look like Moon magic by Mene.

I mean there are 2 gods present one that has the power to change entire universes. The other one is not weak either.
Besides, it was said about Filomena that not even making her immortal stops the rot. And then she is still in the universe where she died long ago suddenly with cured rot. Then it wouldn't have been so hard for Mirana to rewrite the death of Davion or the one who brought Filomena to the Old Reality. And no I have no problem with nice characters dying I also love Demon slayer but there the deaths make sense. She didn't bring Filomena to life. It's most likely the Invoker who did.
By all indications from that last scene, my conclusion is that this is a "different" Filomena (she said the disease was part of her, and that if she was brought back without it, it would be a "different" her).

Also the Oracle said, "You will travel into darkness, and save what you love by allowing what you've loved to die." Does the 'what' include Marci and Davion? The only one who remembered was Mirana since she was a constant but she didn't know that Filomena would "cross over" so to speak. What confuses me is how she cured her disease when the Invoker himself couldn't do it even with thousands of iterations under his belt. Shopkeepers seem to be the most protected people in the whole lore. Not sure where this protection comes from though, probably not from gods because even they can get cursed once a shopkeepers rule is broken. It felt like episode 2 was the actual ending of the series while episode 3-8 was an ova episode over how invoker's character arc is finalized and/or concluded. While also being about how mirana mourns for her dead lover given the amount of screen time she gets compared to the other characters. Also, Filomena. This entire arc was about Filomena, Invoker and Mirana since everyone else's character has already been finalized in the original universe.
I loved how they ground the magic as much as they possible can. Like he can recreate the whole universe but he's not completely all powerful that he can make you sh*t donkeys and say "This is reality now. We all sh*t donkeys in this reality, as I command it to be". 12,000 time... Damn!!! That's a lot!!! I don't like it when a fantasy story makes magic so easy that human are basically gods in comparison to reality. There's weight to what invoker did
God I wish I can watch the whole series again.
The extra episodes also proved to me that I wouldn't want a story that goes on forever and loved the ending as it is, even with Davion dead😢. They left the story open with Filomena alive for a potential book 5. But I like it as it is. If they do add a new seasons it better be an epilogue for the old characters(I just want to see them live life and be doing well) but also introduce new ones to take the role of protagonist and a completely new cast. I'm not familiar with the games so I don't know if there are potential other characters but I hope so. I don't want them to milk the crew for every last drop of story they can get from them when their character arcs are already finished.

Question however: if the flowers could cure Filomena, at least with the help of a goddesses, as implied by Selumene refusing to cure her in the first timeline and confirmed at the last scene, why did the Invoker not just ask Mene/Fimryn in the new world to cure her since he knew she had the disease all along?

Philomina and Invoker helped Mirana go back to the original reality ? But what if it wasn't the original ? What if Invoker meddled with it just enough to have his daughter in it , but everything else seemed just the way it was? That would explain the smile at the end.
However there is a plot hole.. in 12k recreated universes invoker couldn't find a way to bring back Philomina without the disease.. but for some reason, in this one she is cured? Her being cured is the part that makes no sense to me, considering invokers knowledge. Either he was written poorly when it comes to this aspect for the sake of drama , or something yet unrevealed is the cause of this.

  • @primallife2602

Hey bridge here is my theory.
    Theory 1
Have you guys not seen or realized yet. Invoker used forge to create a reality in which mirana will go reset the existence. Watch anime again he was guiding mirana to use forge and also after it was done and mirana was holding davion body and its was only invoker using forge and turning it off. Crazy ride i must say. But now you must ask why he need to do all this stuff. Simple to bring back someone from another universe and yes you are right its philomena. So the usage of forge was a must. In short invoker planned all this even mirana gaining concious and all that moon breaking, every little thing was his plan even mirana resetting reality and bringing philomena back secretly. It was him all the time.
Theory 2 may be who knows what they bargained because mirana was looking at invoker too. Like i have done my part. Now if we see why she never bring back marci or davion. Those two are linked with death of 2 powerful enemies. So if marci is back then void dragon is back too and if davion is back terrorblade is back too.
THE END of a season but beginning of a new era.

i think mirana created filomena while remaking this universe , she created her as someone who is not biologically invoker's daughter , there was a line where filomena said that the disease is a part of her until she is what she is , so I guess changing her roots may have caused the disease to not exist at all.
Taking terror blade's deal doesn't make sense as the deal was that when terror blade himself recreate the world he would do that for the invoker but terror blade never won.

Overall, thoroughly enjoyed S3, way more than i ever expected after the confusing mess that was S2.
One thing i wasn't a fan of(aside from killing my best girl Lina, _again)_ was them making Terrorblade kinda lame. Like, hey, i get it, that whole series is an Invoker story, but still - TB was built up *hard* in seasons 1&2, but then in 3 he's defeated in ep2 and is all but absent from the rest of the story. After the memory-sequence all i could think of was "wouldn't it be *fucking cool* if TB somehow managed to manifest himself into the new universe through Filomena accessing a memory of him?"
Alas, that never happened. Shame, really.

The Invoker was the most powerful entity but the most lonely.
The ending was that Filomena was healed by her mother.
Even the Invoker being the most powerful can not heal her (Filomerna).
It's Love that healed her (the love of her mother).
Hopefully, the three were re-united. There's nothing more powerful in the whole of reality but love.
Its opposite is despair. No matter what knowledge and power the Invoker accumulates, his.daughter's ilness can not.be healed nor her will/nature can be changed as the Invoker wishes. It is only and only thru love that made things right again.
The Invokr deeply loved Filomena and remade reality but in the wrong way. His despair to cure her shook the universe madly. The Invoker became the enemy by.circumstance.
He's almost omnipotent and almost omnicient but forgot that Love goes even beyond power and knowledge.
There's nothing deep as deep love to a daughter child.

imagine if the 1st reality from season one was not the 1st but the 2nd or third. hear me out what if the invoker already made a universe based on terrorblades deal but filomena hated that universe, so he ended it. ANd when fymryn kept saying there is not anything he does not know, could he have known how living in a universe made from a god would be in this case mirana was the god and Filomena would like it. You could also say that he knew she would not like the universe he built since he was not a god so mistake were a given. The whole 3 seasons were a plot to create Filomena past her death date on the 'original universe' and then bring an older version. Better yet when the invoker said he always knew when she showed him the disease was that he knew the universe needed to claim her so he had to remake the universe to make her live but even that one needed her to die once, in the end only in a universe she died in could she survive. So if this theory works, why then did the universe decree she had to die? maybe because she was even more terrifying than the invoker, remember she is a daughter of a goddess as well and the godesses of the moon face madness before they are switched, so then could she face the madness too and it would destroy the universe so the universe in knowing that future decided to clip the danger in the bud.

And ın the universe, which is created again should have some differences. And ı think Filomena is not her fathers daughter anymore. She is Selemene’s daughter from now.

  • @ekoeloundou
    @ekoeloundou 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Whatever the case, remember in season 1 the invoker said he expect people to be themselves and notion else, that's why he always wins and Fimryn told Filomena that she knew her father very well that very little happened without him knowing and wanting in advance. That all means that either this was his plan all along or he modified it midway after that talk with her, but every was always according to his foresight.
And remember Filomena said to Davion and others that if the world got destroyed and remade the consequences for them, all of them, instead of saying for all of us, since the retart to the old World would mean she died too. But in saying that it implied she did not care if she died or more likely she would not died, there would be no consequences for her.
So my drift is she knew she would not died even after the reset of the universe, like her father said she and him will always resist the destruction of the universe as long as they are in the valley with his tower.
So the Invoker had a plan to have his daughter not be like him, crazy, lonely, obsessed and playing God, and she wanted to live and make things right again, so both plans converged. And Father and daughter were the ones casting the spell even though Mirana and Davion were at the center, so they still could modifier how it all went.
