      @@teddee4572 they were more fearsome as pure hitters that's for sure. They were known for colliding with ANY ball carrier regardless of size and they wouldn't go for the legs either. They hit you straight up top. Ronnie was better in coverage though. He excelled at the corner, free, and strong safety. He was versatile. And he was known for laying menacing hits on wide receivers.

      The hit on Largent(?) is the only questionable one and that’s only because it was late. Part of the reason Steve hit so hard was because he led with his shoulder not head and generally didn’t launch himself so he was able to use his legs and feet for leverage. That and he was a big f*}*+\[ dude!😂

      @@Certified-DM- is it really? Congrats to him if so. There was a pretty heavy amount of good to great safeties in the league around that time and he still managed to stand out. For one, he was big af for a safety at that time. Even today actually he’d still be considered pretty big at that position. 6’3 being able to move and lay the wood like he did made him a rare combo that that would be great to watch while being terrible to play and run routes against.

      No they wouldn’t. Receivers are protected now you can’t hit em soon as they touch the ball anymore. Now you have to give them time to protect themselves or they have to be able to make a football play before you hit em

    and the only thing illegal about the plays were both Seattle seahag players went to sleep during those plays.

      No he didn’t. There is one play where Atwater tried to hit Bo in the legs and he got knocked a little to the side but kept running then ran over 2 of Atwater’s teammates
