Considering how Cynical's done mods for first person throughout before, this is a great progression

The scroll wheel makes command selection so much easier
I found the keyboard and mouse controls for 2 and 3 pretty good actually, I had absolutely no issues with it and I even done multiple lvl 1 critical playthroughs on it, definitely didn't feel like I was being gimped by using it
It actually felt more responsive and reactive in KH3. I used to only prefer controller with KH titles but now I’ve been enlightened. I’ve had no issues as well.
I had a severe problem with tron world light cycle, but it was pretty good otherwise.

As a Mouse & Keyboard player myself for KH2 I love seeing Jared struggling lmaoo. M&K on Kingdom Hearts can take some time to get used to but once you got it down it’s easy

I actually 100% KH2FM+ on keyboard only on critical a couple years ago (using pcsx2), it was actually pretty alright for the most part? The lock-on on this game is very good and was enough to make it bearable most of the time, the most difficult fight to navigate for me was probably Data Demyx because you have to actually keep track of the clones and stuff lmfao

even though i thought it would work horribly, i was pleasantly surprised. i ended up playing the entire franchise from anew with mouse and keyboard, i was actually only ever excited to play the games again cause of the thought of playing them with mouse and keyboard. im of the pollar opposite opinion and think the camera movement works surprisingly fine lol, i thought they just emulated the mouse to work like the right stick which fortunatley wasnt the case.
As much as I love Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts in general, I can't imagine playing it on mouse and keyboard. Props to sticking through with the torture though

I've know english for the past 16 years (considering 15 was when I was starting to understand it on my own), this is the first time I understood what Xaldin said because cynical mocked it, "Where's the fun in this?"... I heard "Let the party begin." or maybe he says both.
Using scroll wheel is better than using D-Pad but the keyboard controls take a bit of adjusting to. I personally use a Steam controller, and the paddle buttons are mapped to browse up and down menus, but I have to set up GlosSI so that Steam will assign it as an XBox controller.
I mean the thing is that the controls aren't bad, they just kinda feel bad. Like left click to attack, right click to guard, space to jump, F to do a reaction command, shift to do shortcuts, R to lock on, scroll wheel to select a command, it all makes perfect sense. It's just really awkward. It feels awkward and unnatural. It's something one can get used to with practice, especially if it's like the method you use to play the game on a first playthrough, but coming from a controller, it's very unusual

I've **Always** played with mouse and keyboard, isn't horrible, you just need to get used to it, and the the default control configuration it's really good. It's just diferente from playing in a controller, but it's no bad, it's not that horrible
yeah I've played kh3 with mouse and keyboard for a good while and I thought it was good especially considering rpgs don't have the best support for mouse and keyboard at least from what I've played but I still play on controller because that's what I'm used to

The Keyboard and Mouse controls are basically universal FPS controls adapted to KH. They make a lot of sense from that perspective.
That said, it's probably easier going from Keyboard and Mouse to Controller than vice versa.
I remember completing kh1 with keyboard only. Yes, keyboard only no mouse.
It was actually not that hard except for the secret bosses of course.

I've played kh1, kh2, kh3 and I'm currently playing DDD on keyboard and mouse and it's really fine. Good even.

My question is, why was the mouse even in the default bindings? Eww. Whoever was in charge of the port ergonomics was smoking something good.
In order to play KH2FM back in the 00's, I had to emulate it and didn't have a controller for my PC, so I used keyboard. But thankfully I'd been a PC gamer my whole life, so after mapping the keys to WASD, IJKL, the cursor keys, and YUOP for shoulder buttons, I had little problem playing the game like a piano. In some ways I feel like it was easier than controller cause certain button combinations were just effortless, like pressing triangle and X, or square and circle simultaneously. Being able to mash 3 of the face buttons at the same time with 3 different fingers is just so powerful.
That said, I know it's an acquired skill regardless, cause a lot of people can barely deal with keyboard for movement, they need an analog stick.

You could have definitely changed the dpi, because its basically impossible for the developers to know which mouse on which setting you are using.

I now exclusively play KH2 on KB+M. I dunno I got used to it. I had to change the bindings but once I got comfortable with it, it became second nature.
As someone who tried to beat kh2 with mouse and keyboard... I gave up after land of dragons first visit
It might be because I play Kingdoms of Amalur, but this really doesn't look hard to control.
If anything, being able to navigate the menu while moving around looks like it could really enhance the combat, with enough practice.
That cant be done on a controller, cuz you gotta take your thumb off the stick to move it to the d pad. Unless you just crab claw it.
Never heard of this but id take any challenge if i get a chance to play KH again. I think a pc set up would work great for the card game. I think its chain of memories
I actually finished every game and even beat yozora on keyboard mouse the first time I played the series (skipped CoM). Looking back I kinda feel like I missed out on how the games were intended to be experienced but the controls felt pretty smooth for me the whole way through.

I feel called out, my first playthrough was on an early version of pcsx2 with mouse and keyboard with custom binding. Nowdays i could never but back in middle school with no console i did what i had to do.
When Cynical said this run was cursed I felt that. I never played any Kingdom Hearts game that wasn't traditional controls.

weirdly enough ive been able to beat more data battles on m&k then on controller while still preferring the feeling on controller lol only thing i really hate is switching between commands and closing them
as someone who has no controllers (cause in my country they are hella expensive) this is what i have to live with, but in full screen it is at least more playable, you kinda get used to default controls so it is not as bad

See, if everything in the command menus were assigned to a key instead of having to navigate the menu to select attack, magic items and drive/limit, maybe it could have been interesting to play on a keyboard and mouse, but to stay with the original command menus gameplay, yeah kb/m is awful.

My controller was broken and while I was waiting for a new one I learned keyboard controls to do the datas on lvl 1. 😂 I managed to do it because I beat them many times before with controller but it was not fun doing it with these controls lmao.

Originally play OG Kingdom Hearts 2 with a just a keyboard and no mouse when inwas a teen because I was emulating it and I didn't own a controller yet
It wasn't a good experience but I was my first time acutely playing KH2 instead if just watching the cutscenes on YT so I had a blast

You're overreacting haha! Keyboard and mouse for these games is actually not bad at all. Plus, here you can move AND navigate the command menu at the same time without doing finger gymnastics. Maybe adjust the mouse sensibility. You are not used to play on keyboard and mouse all that much right?
For some reason my ps4 controller stopped working with it at all and now can’t get it to work so i would have to be stuck with mouse and keyboard :(
KH with mouse and keyboard isn't that bad, although I will admit some of the keybinds are questionable. I hate when controller players switch to mouse and keyboard and instantly start shitting on it after 2 seconds. mouse and keyboard takes time to get used to

i remember when i first played KH3's PC version when it first launched, i immediately played mouse & keyboard. my brain was so confused and had a difficult time comprehending its combat 😅😂

I have played every single dark souls sekiro whatever with keyboard and mouse, but i could never play kh with them
