I get that, but at the same time this fits the character well. Kano is never a good guy. He is ruthless killer. And he was only with the good guys cause he was offered money. the money wasn't even real so if he found out, he'd probably kill them all. Very much did feel like a kano move

Kano was right in betraying them, in two separate occasions (the first time when he was tied) he made a dumb joke and the good guys hurt him Will Smith style, while he (the "bad guy") never hits anyone out of nowhere like that, he just challenges Sonya to a fight
I just met this guy at Brisbane SupaNova Nova, took a photo with him and got his Autograph and while no one was lining up for him, I took like 5 minutes talking with him, he’s amazing to talk to.

Since Kano got stabbed in the eye, he might survive, only to get imprisoned after his clash with Sonya and he gets busted out of prison by Shang Tsung who promises Kano wealth and power if he fights on behalf of Outworld in the tenth Mortal Kombat tournament.
Kano and Scorpion were the best characters in this movie. The rest were kind of fillery. Also that leg swipe move spam scene was genius. Absolutely brought back memories of the games. xD My least favorite part was probably the generic protagonist. Overall the movie was great.
I remember watching that series "Cloud 9" and they had this pharmaceutist there that had a hilarious way of delivering funny comments. I did see MK movie earlier and Kano there had similiar vibe too. Its only when I looked up the Kano actor I realized he played both of those roles.
Script writing definitely played a part in this. But in my opinion the writing doesn't mean sq***t if it's not assigned to the right actor. Josh was just the right choice because of his comedic charisma and honestly.. (to me) he kinda stole the movie😅
Even though this movie is bad (Mostly where they done sub zero terribly wrong), kano is the only best past of this movie that does everything right about him like in a video game universe.
Between all the shit changes they made like giving everybody magic, Reptile being a dumb animal, Goro being a joke, Shang Tsung having no personality, making Sub-zero a flat villain, an almost elderly Hanzo, and yes, Black Mileena (why not just play Tanya!? Leave Mileena light-skinned), Kano stands as the one person who not only stays true to his character (besides the magic thing), but actually might be the best portrayal of him in any media.
They need to bring him back. The thing is that Kano is always the better fighter but loses because of his ego. Here he is better than Sonya but gets cocky and then she takes him out. With this version I want to see King Kano.
I heard they didn't want a 'white man' as a lead so they made up the new guy, which sucked. Ironically Kano, who they clearly want the audience to hate, was the best part of the film by a huge margin. Good times.
I love Kano, would ALWAYS main him on every game, ever since I started playing when I was like 8. I'm in my mid-teens now, beard is growing in everywhere except for the chin. Hated it but thanks to Kano I rock it now. Only Kharacter that comes close is Erron Black.
