As an American living in Germany, I find what Germans are good at, is coming up with a plan and implementing it. In the US & UK (was stationed three years at RAF Lakenheath), we have many conflicting interest. Those who benefit from the current system, no matter how out of date it is, will not allow things to change for the better. England is one of the teams on the international level which I favor/favour. I would like to see England learn from Germany and improve on the international scene.
Quiet Corner Great point. But the last sentence is what will make it difficult for England. Their ego is what makes the FA and England Football what is with no success. They have their so called England DNA, which is good, but their thinking and style is still stuck in 1966.

English football hates back and short pass
Germany always had world class player but the real reason is because they're manager even the great legend Beckenbauer coached for Germany in 1990 and won the World Cup
I think the biggest difference compared to England is that in Germany the young talents have a better chance to play in the first team of the Bundesliga Clubs. In England there are similar talents but when they reach the age of 18 or 19, only very few have the opportunity to make the final step to the first team. The rich English Clubs prefer to hire stars from all over the world instead of taking the risk to introduce a young, inexperienced player and invest time and effort, helping him to develop.
That’s why Chelsea was refreshing to watch this season before this corona bs. The transfer ban and absence of hazard let all young players play, been nice.
Because DFL rules that each team should have 12 German nationals in their squad. That's why there is no choice but teams have to develop what they have.

Look at how good Germany in youth development, they really have some wonderful talents such as Gotze, Schurrle, Muller, etc. They can really win the next 2 to 3 World Cups. Keep an eye on them in the European Championship.

They broke their Brazilian curse. Italian one has to be next. Germany team did so fucking well in 2010; I was really rooting for them then. They went 4-1 on Argentina and England! Then this world cup they went 4-0 on Portugal and 7-1 on Brazil.

But @ Lexus Eleven Brasils Win in 2002 was in the finals of Yokohama and they took the WC ! The Win of Germany 7:1 against Brasil was a humiliating win on Brasilian soil , but only a semifinal ! 😁
And Italy is the only Team to win against Germany all WC & EC Games that were Important ! Germany only beat them in 1995 in an unimportant Test match! It is a damm curse !😁

The real wakeup call was Euro 2000, after an already mediocre 1998 WC.
Germany in the 90s had some victories mostly because of the individual class of a few selected players like Matthias Sammer, but they were actually already outclassed both on an individual and on a tactical level and playing way above their abilities. Even their best moments beared none of the genius and domination that German teams used to have f. e. in the 70ies and, luckily, have right now.

2018 World Cup: Bowed out in Group Stage.
2019 UNL: Bowed out in Group Stage.
Euro 2020: Lost to England on R16.
2021 UNL: 0-6 to Spain.
2022 World Cup: I think did not qualify because 1-2 shock loss to North Macedonia.
Can they won on Euro 2024 as host?
