- I've been trying to figure out what the problem is with the intermittent power loss on the bobcat T6 50 skid steer. I've been having issues the past few months with this thing bogging down under a load and after running for sometime when it's hot out. I pulled the fuel pick up tubes and return tubes out of the tank, and when I went to pull them out, the tube came off so I fix those. Hopefully they won't come off again after how I fix them. Put new fuel line from the fuel pick up tubes up to the fuel filter, blew out the fuel filter block and change the fuel filter with a new one. I cut the old fuel filter open. No debris was inside. I made sure the primer ball was functioning properly. It would pump fuel all the way up to the injection pump. No problem the machine would always start and run so I never suspected that the mechanical fuel pump was the issue. So I took it in to White star machinery, and they were able to put on a fuel pressure test gauge and test the fuel pressure coming out of the pump while working the machine that's determining that the fuel pump was not meeting the required speck of fuel flow to the pump so they changed the fuel pump and this solve the issue. I also have them replace the Hydro pump drive belt which goes from the engine to the hydraulic pump due to its age and having some cracks in it so I took the machine in yesterday morning. I received it back today by five so it was a quick turnaround and it's already to go for next weeks work thank you white star. If you need any equipment work done, check out whitestarmachinery.com.
