True. Only thing that pushed me to upgrade from s22u is the battery life everything else was acceptable. I never game except for lightweight games so that didnt matter. One battery test shows the s24u beating the 15 pro max by 40 minutes. @@ulysses4989

This video helped! For my needs, it just isn't worth the extra money. Seems all the AI features are nice, but not the type of features I would use daily or frequently. Also, Saki is right! Some or all of these AI features will get passed down to the S23, S22 and others in the months ahead. It's worth the wait and if you find that this extra make a huge difference to your daily use, you can always consider upgrading at this time next year to the S25 Ultra. For now, I think my S22 Ultra is still a super phone.....for one more year! Great video Saki 👍

The AI features are cool but I would never use the language/call translate feature. The grammar check might come in handy and the circle to search is cool.... But I can do the same search with Google Lens just the same. And I like the waterfall curved screen if the S22U. 😀

You will 100% see a difference, I went from S22U exynos to S23U Snapdragon. The S23U was noticeably faster and the battery does last longer. You will be happy going from S22U to S24U👍
Same here pal and from battery tests I've seen on here so far the S24 Ultra has out performed the other phones in the tests, including the S23 Ultra by quite a bit (which did better then S22 Ultra) and even the IPhone 15 Pro Max. So I am also looking forward to my Snapdragon experience 😄😁
@EzTips_yt This has been standard with the 'pre release' videos on most of the phones. The S22 and S23 Ultras had stability issues / camera performance blah blah. A month or so after release date and about 10 updates later (lol) all settles down so I'm not stressing really. If they made them great for release date that would be awesome but for some reason never happens 🙄✌🏼

In response to the title of this video: NO. All the "Advance Features" aka A.I. software gimmicks will eventually make its way to the S22 and S23. The S22 Ultra is still a Monster phone in 2024 and it makes absolutely no sense to upgrade to the S24 Ultra, unless it's for bragging rights of having the latest gadget on the market. Keep in mind that other phone manufacturers are probably busy with their version of these "AI Advance" features for their flagship devices. 2024 is still young at this point in time. You would be wasting your money getting the S24 Ultra now. There are far better, cheaper options on its way.
Well unfortunately most of those AI features will not make their way past the S23 Ultra because of hardware limitations. The 8 Gen 3 has dedicated AI cores in it which makes generative AI possible, 8 Gen 2 can also handle cloud based AI well but the 8 Gen 1? I don't think so, and I think Samsung has Also announced that the AI features will be only available on S23 and S24 series. However that still doesn't make the S22 Ultra a worse phone. It's still a beast, especially for the price it is at now. My only gripe with it is the battery life and thermals. S22 series had especially horrible battery life.

With Samsung bringing out new flagship phones every year, upgrading every year only makes sense financially to Samsung even with the massive discounts. Better to wait a few years for substantial improvements that really make it a good decision to upgrade!
Also keeping my 22U I almost pre-order but I don't think all the features are worth $500 or $600 don't get wrong I always buy after a year but until samsung ditch the front camera I don't think is worth upgrading every year
I'll be keeping the S22 ULTRA for now there feels no reason to upgrade to the same phone paying that premium price I just wanted something better than the note 10+ that's why I upgraded to 22 ultra!
Good points. You must realize though that the processor and its speed is somewhat better and efficient, therefore the improve performance. Sticking with the S22 Ultra. Got about two more years of support left so I'm riding it out for now.

I almost kept my mint S22 Ultra. However, my Carrier offered me $800 trade in value or in a prepaid visa card! Plus a few perks. So I had to grab that 512g Black S24 Ultra. Can't wait for her to arrive here in TX..🤟

I have been using s22 ultra with an lED cover. I never got compliments and and started wondering whether this phone isn't attractive like the way iphone does. The phone was so heavy on my hand and after some time I would feel a hand fatigue. Few days ago after removing that cover I then started to get a lot of compliments from so many people 😂. I also realized that I missed on a luxurious feel of this phone on my hand. It definitely changed my mind because I was thinking of upgrading to 15 pro max
I have an S22 Ultra. It's a great phone. I'm going to upgrade because no longer having my S-Pen slip off the side of the curved screen when I'm trying to select stuff is going to be really nice. Other than that, the other stuff will be nice to have but not necessarily needed. By the way, your link works but if you try to include the headphones, they aren't available for delivery.

At the moment, the S24 ultra costs twice as much as the S22 ultra brand new. As much as the S24 ultra is significantly better, the cost is something to consider in my case
I don't know if it's just me, but from what I've been seeing so far, the s24 ultra's screen seems crisper, even a bit more than the s23 ultra. Curious if that has to do with loosing the curves.
It loses the curves, it's brighter and it uses a less reflective screen. I think I read it was something like 70% less reflective so the colours will pop even more.
I've placed an order for the S24 Ultra 512GB; this will be my first Samsung device since the S7 Edge in 2015. Since then, I've used the Nexus 6P, OnePlus 5, and 7 Pro. Recently, I decided to leave OnePlus because they have been banned from Germany due to a patent conflict with Nokia. I briefly owned the Pixel 8 Pro but returned it due to poor battery performance. After nearly 9 years, I am thrilled to be getting my hands on a Samsung phone again. I appreciate the freedom Android offers.

The s22 ultra will get most of the Ai features when the One UI 6.1 rolls out. I have upgraded every 2 years starting from the S3 to S5, S7 Edge, S9 Plus, S20 Ultra, S22 Ultra. For the first time I am considering skipping the 2 year upgrade because it doesn't seem like the S24 Ultra is a big enough upgrade.
@Rob__James according to what saki said apparently it is. I didn't think it was so dramatic but those three things I listed alone are functionally important. Galaxy is just my play phone for shows but if that's your main phone it sounds like it would be beneficial to you in real use cases. 12 gb of ram the on board Ai. And also the guarantee of 7 years of os updates and the snapdragon 3. But really you never notice these things.im not buying another one of these until 2028 unless something compelling happens. Especially with these trash trade in offers.

I owned s9 plus when it first came out for 5yrs then changed to s22 ultra in 2022 i feel its still worth rather than upgrading until a massive difference comes like under display camera or a massive change in device that we can drastically see it

I was going to skip the s24 Ultra because of no 10x optical zoom but then I played with the 2x digital optical quality setting. If the 5x 50 mp optical quality 10x is that good I can live with it. I am planning to upgrade now.
People should know that if you are trading in the S22 Ultra, or any trade-in, you don't get that 15% discount from the Samsung Offer Program such as Military, Student, etc. You'll see once you reach the final checkout page, that 15% shoots down to about 5% ($32.50). It won't auto-calculate the actual price until the final page which is a bit misleading. I still think it's a good deal, but just know that the price listed on the first page after you click the options, and even the 2nd page when you're selecting accessories... is not correct. The Samsung assistants say it's because they will only give the full 15% if you're not doing a trade-in. So instead of the $554 price that you said @sakitech, it would be $617.49 before taxes.
I received $112.45 for the Education discount. What I wasn't able to do was check out with the headphones. They say I have to pick them up 1hr away. But if I pay full price for the headphones they are available for delivery. Seems like a little bait and switch going on here. Since the headphones are not available, you can't simply remove them, you have to re-do your entire order without them. Regardless, the price came out to $589.09 after the tax was applied. Also, it said the phone would arrive by Feb 21, 2024 but I just received an email saying it would be delivered on Tuesday, Jan. 23. We'll see.
I have yet to be convinced that the battery difference between the S22U & S24U is all that much. Assuming this isn't a brand new battery in the S22U, then it's bound to last considerably less long at this point (I have an S22U & the battery life is now a third of what it was at purchase). Also, the chip may be more efficient, but will that extra screen brightness counteract some of that battery saving benefit?
Thanks for this comparison, I had already decided to upgrade from my S22Ultra and needed to show my husband why he should upgrade from his S21 Ultra too! Trade in values were a big help financially. We are both upgrading and can't wait for the phones to arrive. You may want to mention that Samsung is allowing 7 updates on the S24 Ultra, that's a great selling point also.
very true,i didnt event bother watching many reviews when i pre-ordered alright since the discount is soo huge that the net price of the new s24 Ultra 512gb for me is 357 usd. the trade in values and vouchers is already the same as the brand new s23 ultra when s24 launched. If you own S20 and newer it would be hard to justify. You already have smooth hz and beautiful display with hardly any bezel. My S23 Ultra still amazing. Good time for S10 owners to uograde if they want to

As someone who has been with android for years now. I will say this. Your android out the box typically only lasts for the time it takes to pay it off with monthly updates. The speed difference between my s22 ultra to the new 24 I got today. It's astonishing. It's SOOOOO much faster there's no lag. Nothing wrong with my apps. I used to have so many app issues especially snapchat.
When do you have to surrender the trade in? You need the old phone for moving your user ids like banking apps etc... can the trade in be done 4 weeka later?
Fancy benchmarks are OK. But the real question is: How much faster/better it is for TH-cam, Facebook, Chrome, WhatsApp, Instagram, Spotify etc., cause such stuff is what most of people ACTUALLY use it for. Not for running supercomputer calculations of the birth of The Universe.
@@AbuyDullah About 6 hours in high brightness. I have about 700 apps installed. Some pull battery even when they aren't used. Recently I did a factory reset and then I got about 8 hours. Therefore, it is difficult to compare as battery life also depends on one's setup.

@@AbuyDullah In my answer an S22/S23/S24 refers to the Ultra modells only. It depends what are your priorities. I like the 2500 nits of brightness of the S24 over the "only" 1750 nits of the S22. But I do need the 10x zoom the S22 and the S23 have, but not the S24. Therefore, I can't see that the camera of the S24 will do better for me than the S22. The higher speed of the processor isn't a critical point for me: even though the EU version of my S22 only has an Exinos, it has always been fast enough for me. But I do not do anything critical like gaming or video cutting. Both the S22 and the S23 still are top model smart phones. I recommend you to carefully compare the three models and answer to yourself whether you need the adds of an S23 over an S22 or an S24 over both S23 and S22 and if so, how much you are ready to pay for it. I am travelling a lot. Therefore, the camera and a huge memory (my S22 has 1TB!) is key for me. I am not going to pay a single cent for a phone that hasn't got more memory than my current phone and hasn't got at least the same optical zoom as my current phone. I want to have the higher brightness, but not at the cost of my most important issues.

I am one of the unfortunate many that already has screen burn in on my S22 Ultra, it's a known issue for people who use their phones for prolonged periods. For me it was a no brainer to preorder the S24 Ultra, for all of the reasons others already mentioned. Better display, losing the curved edges, etc, etc. I have been extremely happy with my S22 Ultra as far as performance is concerned, however with the latest OneUi update I have noticed quite a bit of freezing up amd lagging. So I'm not a huge fan of that.
You don't need the latest cpu or hardware or camera the ones of the s22 are more than enough and you'd barely notice any difference the battery lasts a whole day easily even with heavy usage and charges really fast with a 25W charger, there is nothing interesting enough that would justify spending double the price to upgrade it.
So coming down to the wire on the trade...still not sure on trading my s22 ultra for the s24 ultra? Worth it or not? $650 trade for mine plus the $150 in accessories??
Regular user will never see the difference. Have my 22 ultra and see no reasons to change. In real life I'm not using even 50% of all stuff my phone has. And think I'm not the only one )))
I switched to an iPhone 15 Pro Max about 2 months ago now after being with Android for 6 years, and let me tell you, it's the best thing I've ever done. I have an S23 Ultra and it just feels cheap and sluggish compare to the iPhone 15.
I kinda dont want to upgrade my S22, but if i think about it, the S25 next year will be peobably the same as the S24, so that means I will have to wait for the S26 for a huge change, and 2 more years to upgrade sounds too long.

With Samsung bringing out new flagship phones every year, upgrading every year only makes sense financially to Samsung even with the massive discounts. Better to wait a few years for substantial improvements that really make it a good decision to upgrade!

Good points. You must realize though that the processor and its speed is somewhat better and efficient, therefore the improve performance. Sticking with the S22 Ultra. Got about two more years of support left so I'm riding it out for now.

I have been using s22 ultra with an lED cover. I never got compliments and and started wondering whether this phone isn't attractive like the way iphone does. The phone was so heavy on my hand and after some time I would feel a hand fatigue. Few days ago after removing that cover I then started to get a lot of compliments from so many people 😂. I also realized that I missed on a luxurious feel of this phone on my hand. It definitely changed my mind because I was thinking of upgrading to 15 pro max

I have an S22 Ultra. It's a great phone. I'm going to upgrade because no longer having my S-Pen slip off the side of the curved screen when I'm trying to select stuff is going to be really nice. Other than that, the other stuff will be nice to have but not necessarily needed.

At the moment, the S24 ultra costs twice as much as the S22 ultra brand new. As much as the S24 ultra is significantly better, the cost is something to consider in my case
I don't know if it's just me, but from what I've been seeing so far, the s24 ultra's screen seems crisper, even a bit more than the s23 ultra. Curious if that has to do with loosing the curves.
It loses the curves, it's brighter and it uses a less reflective screen. I think I read it was something like 70% less reflective so the colours will pop even more.
Pre ordered mine . Upgrading from 22 to 24 didn't see the reason for jump to 22 to 23 but this one most definitely worth the upgrade
I've placed an order for the S24 Ultra 512GB; this will be my first Samsung device since the S7 Edge in 2015. Since then, I've used the Nexus 6P, OnePlus 5, and 7 Pro. Recently, I decided to leave OnePlus because they have been banned from Germany due to a patent conflict with Nokia. I briefly owned the Pixel 8 Pro but returned it due to poor battery performance. After nearly 9 years, I am thrilled to be getting my hands on a Samsung phone again.

The s22 ultra will get most of the Ai features when the One UI 6.1 rolls out. I have upgraded every 2 years starting from the S3 to S5, S7 Edge, S9 Plus, S20 Ultra, S22 Ultra. For the first time I am considering skipping the 2 year upgrade because it doesn't seem like the S24 Ultra is a big enough upgrade.
@Rob__James according to what saki said apparently it is. I didn't think it was so dramatic but those three things I listed alone are functionally important. Galaxy is just my play phone for shows but if that's your main phone it sounds like it would be beneficial to you in real use cases. 12 gb of ram the on board Ai. And also the guarantee of 7 years of os updates and the snapdragon 3. But really you never notice these things.im not buying another one of these until 2028 unless something compelling happens. Especially with these trash trade in offers.

You have to use an anti reflection screen guard to maintain that feature. Goes without saying they are much more expensive.

I owned s9 plus when it first came out for 5yrs then changed to s22 ultra in 2022 i feel its still worth rather than upgrading until a massive difference comes like under display camera or a massive change in device that we can drastically see it

I was going to skip the s24 Ultra because of no 10x optical zoom but then I played with the 2x digital optical quality setting. If the 5x 50 mp optical quality 10x is that good I can live with it. I am planning to upgrade now.
People should know that if you are trading in the S22 Ultra, or any trade-in, you don't get that 15% discount from the Samsung Offer Program such as Military, Student, etc. You'll see once you reach the final checkout page, that 15% shoots down to about 5% ($32.50). It won't auto-calculate the actual price until the final page which is a bit misleading. I still think it's a good deal, but just know that the price listed on the first page after you click the options, and even the 2nd page when you're selecting accessories... is not correct. The Samsung assistants say it's because they will only give the full 15% if you're not doing a trade-in. So instead of the $554 price that you said @sakitech, it would be $617.49 before taxes.
I received $112.45 for the Education discount. What I wasn't able to do was check out with the headphones. They say I have to pick them up 1hr away. But if I pay full price for the headphones they are available for delivery. Seems like a little bait and switch going on here. Since the headphones are not available, you can't simply remove them, you have to re-do your entire order without them. Regardless, the price came out to $589.09 after the tax was applied. Also, it said the phone would arrive by Feb 21, 2024 but I just received an email saying it would be delivered on Tuesday, Jan. 23. We'll see.
I have yet to be convinced that the battery difference between the S22U & S24U is all that much. Assuming this isn't a brand new battery in the S22U, then it's bound to last considerably less long at this point (I have an S22U & the battery life is now a third of what it was at purchase). Also, the chip may be more efficient, but will that extra screen brightness counteract some of that battery saving benefit?
Thanks for this comparison, I had already decided to upgrade from my S22Ultra and needed to show my husband why he should upgrade from his S21 Ultra too! Trade in values were a big help financially. We are both upgrading and can't wait for the phones to arrive. You may want to mention that Samsung is allowing 7 updates on the S24 Ultra, that's a great selling point also.
very true,i didnt event bother watching many reviews when i pre-ordered alright since the discount is soo huge that the net price of the new s24 Ultra 512gb for me is 357 usd. the trade in values and vouchers is already the same as the brand new s23 ultra when s24 launched. So its no brainer for me to trade my 10month old s23U for a new s24 ultra,haha.

The s23 Ultra uses the same sensors on the ultrawide and telephoto lenses so you can use that while waiting.

If you own S20 and newer it would be hard to justify. You already have smooth hz and beautiful display with hardly any bezel. My S23 Ultra still amazing. Good time for S10 owners to uograde if they want to

As someone who has been with android for years now. I will say this. Your android out the box typically only lasts for the time it takes to pay it off with monthly updates. The speed difference between my s22 ultra to the new 24 I got today. It's astonishing. It's SOOOOO much faster there's no lag. Nothing wrong with my apps. I used to have so many app issues especially snapchat.

@@AbuyDullah About 6 hours in high brightness. I have about 700 apps installed. Some pull battery even when they aren't used. Recently I did a factory reset and then I got about 8 hours. Therefore, it is difficult to compare as battery life also depends on one's setup.

It depends what are your priorities. I like the 2500 nits of brightness of the S24 over the "only" 1750 nits of the S22. But I do need the 10x zoom the S22 and the S23 have, but not the S24. Therefore, I can't see that the camera of the S24 will do better for me than the S22.
The higher speed of the processor isn't a critical point for me: even though the EU version of my S22 only has an Exinos, it has always been fast enough for me. But I do not do anything critical like gaming or video cutting.
Both the S22 and the S23 still are top model smart phones. I recommend you to carefully compare the three models and answer to yourself whether you need the adds of an S23 over an S22 or an S24 over both S23 and S22 and if so, how much you are ready to pay for it.
I am travelling a lot. Therefore, the camera and a huge memory (my S22 has 1TB!) is key for me. I am not going to pay a single cent for a phone that hasn't got more memory than my current phone and hasn't got at least the same optical zoom as my current phone. I want to have the higher brightness, but not at the cost of my most important issues.

I am one of the unfortunate many that already has screen burn in on my S22 Ultra, it's a known issue for people who use their phones for prolonged periods. For me it was a no brainer to preorder the S24 Ultra, for all of the reasons others already mentioned. Better display, losing the curved edges, etc, etc. I have been extremely happy with my S22 Ultra as far as performance is concerned, however with the latest OneUi update I have noticed quite a bit of freezing up amd lagging. So I'm not a huge fan of that.

You don't need the latest cpu or hardware or camera the ones of the s22 are more than enough and you'd barely notice any difference the battery lasts a whole day easily even with heavy usage and charges really fast with a 25W charger, there is nothing interesting enough that would justify spending double the price to upgrade it.
