  • Want to leverage a set of keyword highlighting patterns someone else has created for use in SecureCRT? This video shows you how, using a "Cisco Words" INI file submitted by a VanDyke Software customer. See the scripting example, Import Keyword Highlighting INI File, www.vandyke.com/support/scrip..., for more details.

    Thanks, Jake. After all these years I have never used this feature. Need to put together one for compilation output

      If you come up with a highlighting INI file that you wouldn't mind sharing with the community, feel free to send it our way (email support@vandyke.com) and we'll upload it to the corresponding forum post mentioned in this video so that others can benefit from your color styling skills.

    this slows down my securecrt (sometimes hang) when I have a lot of texts showing up.
    I think because it needs more CPU resources to do the regex

    • @vandykesoftware
      @vandykesoftware  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Highlighting keywords in real time will result in more CPU resources needed. For every word that is received, each and every regular expression must be tested to see if there is a match and the word then colored appropriately. Order the patterns you expect to see most often at the top of your keyword highlighting list. Please contact support@vandyke.com if you'd like to create a report and investigate whether there are any steps that can be taken in your specific case to speed things up at all.

      vandykesoftware I’m exactly using that .ini file from the forum thread. Maybe securecrt in mac is not as fast as in windows

    What about MAC users. you do make Secure CRT for MAC as well

    • @vandykesoftware
      @vandykesoftware  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, SecureCRT is available for macOS. On the download page, you'll see a tab for "SECURECRT FOR MAC" where you can find the .dmg for installing SecureCRT on supported macOS platforms. See the system requirements page for the versions of macOS that are currently supported with the current official release of SecureCRT (www.vandyke.com/products/system_req.html?pid=clients)
