Thanks for including Open Season in this preview :-) We hope that people will enjoy the game at GenCon ! Our games will be presented on the Flat River booth.
What is up you folks?! I didn't know you had a part in Wild Gardens! I backed it and am so excited to get it in and play. Also just heard about March of the Ants and it caught my eye. The theme for 4X sounds like one I would actually enjoy, and your love for it is very encouraging!
You mentioned several that I am interested in. Gnome Hollow and Reef Project are probable purchases for me. I am stoked to demo Nature. A few others that I want to check out- FateFlip - It looks like a choose your own adventure game with cards. not sure if it repayable. But it is also fairly inexpensive so a possibility. I remember seeing Natera last year and I was intrigued. I would like to try to demo it this year. And I want to check out the solo game Witchcraft.
A luthier makes and/or repairs stringed instruments. There are still luthiers today. They repair/service violins, violas, cellos, string basses. We take my kids' cellos to a luthier when needed. Some luthiers might also work on guitars, mandolins, etc.
Thank you for the rapid fire review. You gave me a good sized list of games to look into. Hope you both have a great gencon. Maybe next year I will get to go.
Great list, I follow that Geeklist and will now add a few more to my Interested List (Will RUN to Cities!!!!) I will be at GenCon (my 19th GenCon, missed 2020) so will look for you! I am RUNNING to Foundations of Metropolis OR Cities (now that you said I had to run to that one).
That was a great list, many of those are on my wishlist as well. The game that I would probably bulldoze my way to (not really, I wouldn't be able to stop apologizing) is Nature. But I'd love to see/demo/get Wandering Galaxy and Slay the Spire as well.
Nature is a project of true passion, we're so excited for it, and having played Wandering Galaxy you'll love it if you enjoyed the previous Crossroads Games. We haven't heard too much of Slay the Spire, will have to look into it! Thanks for the suggestion.
Run like a fool to Cities. I am patiently waiting for my Cascadia rolling hills. Then of course I will skip to Tylers booth and wait in line to say hey kiddo thanks for the great content and then mosey over to Ilya cuz I'm old and it's been a crazy day and have a lovely little chit chat. Then grab some food and sit and people watch. Whew! What a day.
Thanks for the video! Though Gen Con is a 4-hour drive from where I reside, it still will be a while until I attend such a large convention of this sort. Moreover, it's July already and Gen Con is next month already? 😲 I hadn't the chance to look at BGG's Gen Con Preview yet, as I (finally) found the muster to post my hot 10 games of June'24-which _(shameless promo plug)_ included Cities, Captain Flip and Seaside. Three of these 75 games I plan to special order through my FLGS are also Cities, Xylotar and Pixies. (Plus expansions for Beacon Patrol and Sea Salt & Paper.) So focusing on those five games, if attending Gen Con, I would likely walk-don't-run first to *Pixies,* then *Cities,* then *Xylotar,* then *Seaside,* then *Captain Flip.* Obviously a lot more games to be had, as a majority of research for my July hot 10 will come from the Gen Con preview page; will be getting on that fairly soon. 🙃
Squeee! Thank you for including Ovation and saying such lovely things! I think I'd first run to Ovation just to see that it's there and pinch myself to see my dream come true. Next cuz I totally trust you, I'd head to Pixies and Cities. Then I'd jog with my remaining energy to Wandering Galaxy. I love Plaid Hat's Crossroads system. 🥰
I'm making a run (or a fast walk) for Turnip, the Cascadia Roll & Writes, and Rock Hard 1977! I've played a different card game from Ken Jenkins that's terrific, so I'm sure Turnip is great too. I played the Cascadia roll & write when it was a prototype about roses - it was great then, and I'm sure even better now. And Rock Hard is from a member of The Runaways - enough said! Thanks for taking a look at River of Gold!
If I didn't already back them, I would endanger myself and others to get to Wild Gardens and Undergrove first. Beyond that, Rebel Princess looks like a blast. My friends love Hearts and are mostly all lesbians so the premise of avoiding the advances of prince's sounds like it'd lead to tons of laughs around the table 😂
We definitely will make our way to get a copy of Rebel Princess, it looks too good, and yes both excited for our copies of Undergrove and Wild Gardens as well!
I already pre-ordered Cities and Rock Hard 1977. I am also very excited for Captain Chair, need to look into it more, I do not think it is coming out until Essen ish Q4 of 2024
@@kovray it was AWESOME meeting the both of you while waiting to play LOTR Duel. My ConFriend laughed and said I was "giddy" for the rest of the day!!!! You are both amazing, keep up the great work, and THANK YOU for being so gracious with your time during a busy Con.
Question of the Day: What game would you RUN for at Gen Con 2024?
I like the sound of Contrabanter! I love a word game~
