    Nathan Pennington, MBA is the founder of rundreamachieve.com, VDOT O2 Coach Ambassador and holds personal bests of 9.27 for two-miles, 4:22 for the mile, 14:18 for 5K, 31.09 for 10K, 50:54 for 10-miles, 1:07:06 for the half-marathon, 1:44:05 for 20 miles and 2:19:35 for the marathon. Nathan was the 1995 Junior Olympic cross-country bronze medalist as a high school senior and finished 7th in the 1994 Junior Olympic 1500m final with a time of 4:01.18 as a high school junior. Later in his career, he became a member of the US Army World Class Athlete Program and two-time world armed forces cross-country team qualifier.
    Nate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Malone University, Master of Science in Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado, an MBA from Purdue University and currently working toward his Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

      Don’t do too much treadmill running.
      But I made it to my marathon location!
      Not hurt.
      Functioning gut biome.
      Only problem was figuring out I was living with a family of full on narcissists!!
      It all makes sense.
      Being ‘kicked off’ his property for now… maybe nowhere to go back to…

      About a stressful race!
      One thing about self improvement is it can really expose narcs….
      But knowing that no human deserves to be yelled at.
      In my heart of hearts.
      This marathon will be SO MUCH SWEETER WITHOUT THAT BS!!!
      I’m all the more excited about it.
      Jus my gotta find somebody to hold onto my dog….

    I really like cruve treadmill way better tbh i ran three sets of miles on there at level 8 resistance 4:45 4:43 and the last one 4:25 but i noticed that order to be challenging i had to put resistance on to make more accurate when im running outdoors

      Curved treadmills give the best workouts for sure..nice job dropping those mile splits. Superior work!

    So how would one do incline running on a curved manual treadmill?
    Most motorized treadmills have the ability to go to 15%.

      I don't believe you have the option to run on an include on a curved treadmill to be honest, will have to look that up. That being said, running on a curved treadmill is FAR harder than a regular flat belt treadmill as you are putting in all the momentum to keep the belt on the curved treadmill going so definitely provides that hillier terrain work output for sure.     Never tried a curved treadmill. Don't think I've actually seen one other than in pictures.

    What about for 3 to 5 mile daily walks? I walk on a treadmile on incline atm

    I have an Assault AirRunner (CrossFit). I have done 10 sub3 marathons on it. Also, a 50k at 3:31 (sub3 pace). While it doesn’t replace outside running for outside races, the fact it is self-powered makes up for it.

    This is another very informative video on treadmill running. I prefer running outside but have done plenty of easy, tempo or long runs on the treadmill. They have their time and pace that is for sure.

    Great video, I just bought a treadmill; last month and I do like it alot it has helped with bad weather days or dsays that are too hot. it also has decline so that helps too when I am training for some rest periods

    Nate..... Finally I got a 3'30 in Chicago.... Half in 1'41 and 2nd half in 1'49....Aquiles tendinitis and Calf tighteness (Minor injuries since a month ago, no long runs at all in september) after 25k was a challenge, no quit & no stops during the race, Just slowing the pace to finish and enjoy my 1st Major at my 53...and time to recover this month..please🙏 Post some Boston maraton stuff, Next challenge April 2023.     I really like the idea, but are curved treadmills really suitable for long-distance training? Because you run in the curve to accelerate. But doesn't it have a negative impact on the foot position and the muscles because of the different angle?

      Agree, you definitely need to be in superior shape to train on these types of treadmills. I would definitely recommend training on flat treadmills until you have really put in some heavy anaerobic workouts cause training on curved treadmills is SO much more difficult, night and day difference.

    I just tried a curved treadmill for the first time a few days ago and I'm obsessed! It does compare to trail running....I do intervals and it's much more challenging than a regular treadmill😃
