      @SnyperMK2000JclL ปีที่แล้ว +8

      A little effort, a little work ahead of time, and you'll be rewarded with bread so damn good you'll ask yourself "wtf is that crap I have been buying for decades from the store, cuz it ain't bread,... THIS is bread!" Then proceed to devour half a loaf in the blink of an eye...
      Seriously though bread making is stupidly easy and the hardest part is the wait times for rise and proofing... the outcome though, oh my god... miles above any "fancy bread" you'll buy in a typical supermarket... and will rival that of your local bakery with a little practice... plus that price, come on... 15 dollar loaf at a bakery but you can make it for like 45cents and get 2+ loaves more... like the first commenter said, don't be lazy. And trust me it's worth it any day of the week

    • @DoremiFasolatido1979
      @DoremiFasolatido1979 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Indeed. To spend $100 per month on groceries, for 3 meals a day, for one person, comes out to $1.19 per meal. And frankly, spending more on food (something people DIE without) than one might spend on one's phone or something (necessary in today's world, but not deadly without it), is beyond fucking absurd. That it's even seemingly necessary to spend up to $100 on food each month, is already insane. To have to spend more is grounds for justifiable homicide.

    • @DoremiFasolatido1979
      @DoremiFasolatido1979 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Deathraze1 Same. My point though is that even $400 a month for a family of 4 is an obscene amount for something so abundant and so necessary. And yet people spend often far more than that every month, even if they're "super-couponing". It's functionally impossible to spend $100 per person each month on food. And again, even that is still abhorrently extreme.
      Everything is geared toward keeping the poor, poor.

    Those of you who are intimidated by the idea of having a huge roast left over just for one or two steak sandwiches... Expand this idea to include leftovers and maybe it'll make more sense.
    You have some bougie bread and leftovers from Sunday dinner. All you have to do is sauté some veg, melt a little cheese... you've got a nice dinner for Monday night in 30 minutes or less. The beauty of sandwiches is that they are flexible and adjustable.

    2 weeks ago chuck was over 8 bucks a pound. Flour was over 5 dollars for 4 pounds. Butter is up to 4 bucks a box. Milk was nearly 5 dollars a gallon. Cheese was at bare minimum for the garbage brands 4 dollars a pound. Didn't matter what kind. Onions were 1.20 each, so around 2 bucks a pound. Peppers were only .89 for green and 3 dollars each for any other color. Didn't check yeast.

    I almost exclusively slow roast my joints of beef, lamb, and pork for around 12 hours these days. No matter how cheap they were, they're always tender enough to cut with a spoon afterwards. Leftovers are always sliced, portioned, and dropped in the freezer for future sandwiches.

    Boss man, I’ve been a subscriber before you blew up, and now you’re nearing a billion channel views. Just wanted to say thank you for following this dream and giving all of us a chance to create beautiful food alongside your crazy ass. Lotta love for you brother and I hope that I can someday shake your hand. You’ve helped refuel my passion, as well as literally millions of other people, for food. You deserve all the fame and fortune that’s followed. THANK YOU PAPA FROM ALL OF US

    Parchment paper for your bread. You can leave the hot pan in the oven and carry it cover to the oven on a round piece of parchment paper.

      @ firstly use your anger towards becoming a better person instead of a racist POS.
      Secondly learn how to speak/write, your sentence makes no sense.
      Thirdly mind your own business and stop spreading hate, its disgusting.
      You're a pathetic hateful little man.

    Okay so I want to try and make every single one of Patricia's 77 Sandwiches from Bob's Burgers one Sandwich at a time. If it takes me a year to do so be it. As far as the budget goes I bet I could get Josh's videos to inspire me more to be able to not break the bank.

    What about Onglet/hanger steak? Often considered offal and only one per beast it's usually cheap cheap cheap. Except in France where it makes all their awesome steak sandwiches!

    my first dinner when i visited us was steak sandwich for 18 bucks. i literally got a piece of dry meat between two dry, burnt slices of the cheapest bread. no sauce, no veggies, no cheese. i thought about moving to us, but food is the main thing that keeps me from doing so

    Just a heads up for those in the mid west.
    Meijer regularly sells sirloin strip for 6.99 a lb that’s cheaper for a better cut.
    Cheaper but better.
