I love that IDF desert camo on their airplanes. It looks good on any plane they have, from the F-4 to the F-16 to helicopters. What's with that dorsal spine on this version? I never figured that out.

@yairbe5 the bulges outside the spine are conformal fuel tanks. I was talking about the spine in between the the tanks (which is still there when the tanks are removed). I know it's avionics, I just was unsure what kind of new gear they were putting in there.
I can answer that. The Sufa is actually considered one of the best variants of F-16 and one of the most advanced. It has advanced electronic components for example inside the hump on both sides of its back which gives it excellent capabilities in terms of ground attack and also air to air interception mission. But those avionics systems add weight to the aircraft and reduces its manoeuvrability a little when it comes to close quarter dogfights but it has unrivalled capabilities for sure.

@brtshstel it is belived to have more avionics systems and maybe some fuel, sufa256 cant answer to you because its classfied, and hes a pilot. but it is belived to have some electronics in it

That's exactly why I asked - Sidewinder is inferior to Python so why not put two more Pythons on the aircraft or two AMRAAMs? Btw, love the full sphere Python V! :)

It's not rusty, though you're right about the F-22 being the world best jet fighter today. The F-16I is better in many ways than the F-35 which is 5Gen (and Israel bought these too, but many in the Israeli Air Force didn't like the decision because the F-35 are too expensive, too incapable in terms of ammunition, range, etc and for other good reasons as well).

@John Smith They kind of are though. Check their rep and history they practically pushed back 4 countries at the same time :)). When it comes to armed forces. They do know what they are doing more so than others. Its the amount of experience they have gone through.

I have to say that the CFT's on the newer F-16s look quite ungainly. The smooth appealing shape of the original F-16 is not so appealing with the new mods.
@sufa256 yes its a nice tune, only not my favor so i suggested another, but im sure many people will disagree with me :) but i think if you could make this video abit longer and put conquest of paradise in it could have been better, but everyone with their taste :)
Those comformal fuel tanks ruined the plane, it was better to increase the lenght of the fuselage, rather than do this aberation. Those things ruined vortices generation at high angles of attack, making the plane less agile.

I wonder why, every published book or footage showing Israeli jets, blots out the faces of the pilots but not the ground crews? I would have thought that in the interest of national security and annonimaty that both aircrew and ground crews would have their faces blotted out. Anyone know why this is that one is blotted and not the other?

Yes. You can understand the difference only by looking at the manufacture year. The "F-16" was manufactured in the end of the eighties, while the "F-16I" was manufactured in the early 2nd millennium, when the technology was much more advanced.
מיכאל חדאד I believe the F-16I is very similar to the F-16 block 52, however it has enhancements to meet the demands of the IAF. (weapons, has better avionics on a dorsal hump with electronic warfare capability and it has a better radio, JHMCS, auto-radar targeting (apg-68(V)9) Radar, and CFTs.) Definitely a great plane, all it needs now is a phased-array radar, then it will be an even deadlier aircraft.
My beautiful, lovely Sufa! I was an airplane technician in my military service in 2007, and we have F16I. It is amazing airplane! I miss this days.

This plane reminds me of a snapping turtle...with those conformal upper tanks functioning as the shell ridges of an American snapping turtle.
Some interesting editing going on here…constantly bouncing back and forth between a plane with/without conformal tanks.

TEHGROUND, I don;'t think we need to improve it even more. Now the F-35 is under development, and it is in an whole other level.
