The focus and concentration these guys have to have is incredible. They are going so fast they don’t have time to ‘think’ , it’s like a 200 mph meditation
I’ve ridden around the Island, and the key to the whole circuit is knowledge. You need years of practice to know exactly where you are and what the race line is at all times. You’re going so bloody fast that if you forget for a moment where you are, then you’ll be on the wrong line for the next corner or bend, and then you’re fucked. It takes seconds to get it wrong and unless you’re really, really good and can recover just as quickly, you’re in deep trouble because if you get it wrong in one bend then you’re hopelessly out of line for the next one which on the Island is only a few seconds away, and that can kill you. I was there in about 1998 with my mate Paul who got it wrong and crashed at some ridiculous speed. Incredibly he survived, albeit he nearly lost his left arm, but just about the only salvageable part from his CBR600 was the filler cap. We bought the rest home in carrier bags. We got the filler cap back and had it mounted on a wooden plaque for him as a momento, along with the external steel frame that he wore for some 6 months to save his arm. In 2002 the guy who used to service my motorcycle breakdown trucks died in the Classic TT when his Aermacchi hit some oil, I still remember getting the news the following morning. RIP Eddie Byers. Unless you’ve ridden the Island, or even been there to see it, you honestly cannot comprehend just how dangerous it is. I can’t stress that enough. It still gibes me the willies watching it each year.
I have climbed some of the toughest mountains in the world but I hold up my hands - - - I do not possess the smallest fraction of the courage these lads do. Utmost respect.
Any news about Patrick Hoff? He came off at School House(?) corner - the left hand bend before Ramsey. He was reported to be ok, but I have not seen a statement from him. 😬
*Update on Patrick Hoff* He is fine, although he will not start in the first sbk race due to a Coccyx sprain. He lost the front wheel in the Schoolhouse corner - 160+ mph - during Wednesday(?) practice.
Spectators didn’t even have time to react, he was half mile down the road when the poo finally cought up and came out. 😂 They’d have known nothing about it
Absolutely insanely brave idiots of the largest calibre. And I mean that in the highest possible esteem. The skills on show at every point on track is why this lot and this event are at the pinnacle of motorsport.
Officials need to see that and put crash barrier dead ahead on wall. If he got that wrong he probably would go splat.... Then again i guess there's a thousands spots like that on the course 😂

@@JJ62 True enough and that is why some riders actually walk the full circuit or road so as to get an angle on all that you say.

It's fearlessness.
Thank you. That’s better, no silly music or slomo, just raw bikes and engines. Great

I'm hoping for a year everybody goes home.
This is wild. A second thought and well. There is no pause or time out.
I soo want to come from Canada to see this race in person.. Need to get a passport, and save up a few for the $3k cost of flight...

It always makes me cringe when I see people standing on the outside of corners on open courses.
Rather stand on the inside than the outside
@@colecollett9517 I actually should have said outside! Old man brain!
Your life is basically in the hands of your spectators. Praying that nobody's suicidal and has a proper eye on their kids .
LORIS❤️🏁🏆🏍️

300/km not fking even enough for them to approach their desire

misleading title
Isle of ball's
All that zoom removes the sense of speed.
These riders have gonads the size of coconuts !
No deaths this year?
Hopefully there won't be still 4 day to go everthing crossed for the riders
