Another excellent and educational video Sam. I have come to to the conclusion that taking pics of people is not really my thing (in fact I am hopeless), but streetscapes and architectural shots I like. I often do get people in my shots, but, as you pointed out, I try to respect them. Thanks again Sam.
As I've said before, I really love your POV walk around videos. It's really educational just to watch someone doing their thing. Two observations: The first I've noticed many times and it makes me really nervous....you never use a wrist strip! LOL! Second: In this video your speech is slowed down a bit and that was a big help for me. You're a pretty wired kind of guy and in years past sometimes your speech rate was really fast and I had a hard time understanding everything. This isn't a criticism. it's probably more because I'm from the USA and I'm not accustomed to your speech patters. But, in this video I had no problem at all. Thanks so much for taking the time to make these POV videos. They really are instructional! Have a rockin' weekend!
Love these osmo pocket pov videos. The view is more natural and pleasing to look at with the pocket as compared to an action cam which can get really tiring to look at. Keep em coming dude!
Love this. I live in Abu Dhabi and we have similar rules and I love street photography so it’s always been something I’ve been worried to attempt. Over zealous security guards are a problem asking for permits. Love the POV. New subscriber here
Brother hats off to your efforts and for the inspiration. But the intro you mentioned is 100% true of Dubai. I have lived here for a decade and its definitely a challenge and sometimes downright double standard with smartphones. Don't get me wrong, I love Dubai, its my 2nd home and blessed me a lot mentally and emotionally. I also see the point behind the restrictions but this is certainly a pain point for photographers with cameras. Amazing images btw!
I just came back from dubai not long ago... and been there for a few times over the years... photography is fine.. just avoid taking picture of people's house... and security guards.. and local in robes.. other than that.. not much problems.. dubai is filled with so many tourist.. they are ok being photographed. In most cases.
You can get permits pretty easily to shoot in a lot of areas. Al Seef and Blue Waters were particularly helpful. Some others on the other had..... URRGGGHHHHH!
It was smart of you to change the faces with the help of AI, but that doesn't mean that we should ignore the rules just because we have the "AI solution" in our pocket. As you said, we should always be respectful. Loved the photos from both lenses!
Exactly, I was respectful in this video and as long as we as photographers depict people in a normal, respectful way in the photos way take then it’s all good. I used the AI route to highlight there is a grey area now and it’s a good conversation to have. A lot of the regulations are around people privacy rather than the act of actually taking a photo. Be good to see where this goes in the future.
I got stopped by by police in surfers paradise Gold Coast australia, they got my name, address, asked a bunch of questions and took a photo of me for the system. All because I took a photo of a pathway and it happened to look like I was taking photos of a cctv camera….
Hi Sam, loving all your work. just a quick question. I use Luminar Neo for editing, can your presets be downloaded for that or are they only for lightroom? Many thanks. Paul.
Such a cool video. Thanks for more valuable information. I dig the pocket 3 POV look. I actually did a couple of Dubai videos on my channel. Both videos was inspired by you Sam. The night time super car photography video in JBR is one of my favorite 😊. Wish I was back in Dubai now to meet up...
I‘m new to streetphotography and editing. Are your presets compatible with the Ipad Version of Lightroom? Sorry, if this is a silly question but I read there is a difference between the Desktop version and the ipad ‚app‘ version. Love your povs
The camera that’s strapped to your body, what is it? Which camera is it? How did you move it like adjusting it in a second and it films in a significantly higher quality than expected 2:18
In Dubai its not difficult and laws don’t prevent its just some security guys do not understand or they are lazy, the role is to leave your informations to the security and take a permission so that if any complaints about using people faces on social media or miss use the footage by any mean they can communicate with the photographer its only safety roles, but some security guys instead of taking informations and giving license they prevent using professional cameras its easier for them or they may be do not understand, Dubai always welcoming people from all over the world and encouraging influencers to visit and capturing
Who’s Danny ? 😂 my names Sam. I don’t put the preset name just because I use presets as a starting point then adjust sliders according to each image + masking etc. i use these ones the most. Super moody tones Sony lover Those are the two main ones I use as starting points 🫡
Early morning. Every big city is the same. You go out early there’s hardly any people. For mega cities like New York / London / Tokyo etc you’d be looking at 5-7:45am is the most quiet. Small big cities like Dubai you can be about until around 10am before it starts to get busy.
Sorry, but you're wrong. You can still identify person only with tattoo's, clothes if you're local. Changing face with AI isn;t enough. Dubai is specific place for street photography and very restrictive.
Love these vids man
Thank you 😊

Some absolutely stunning shots here!

This is so cool! Love the switch to more architecture from people! Gives me some great ideas, thank you!

It’s true, the fact that they let you take photos with your phone in certain places but not with a camera makes no sense to me.
its a joy to see your Version of Street Pov from the same place where I always do photowalks. Old dubai is an intresting place for street photography.
the amount of detail on these new cameras is absolutly crazy to me

It's also the safest city to walk around with 10 grand worth of gear

I do love your city walks - sounds of city ; & bird song , enhanced this pov for me.
Generative full is a good idea, would be good if this become a thing to allow street photographers to do more photos!
very well done! thanks for sharing and good luck
That was amazing photography 👍 dubai is nice always

18:10 Thank you so much! I love cats and this part of Dubai is filled with them.
Beautiful photos
You get the best mornings!
I just love your vibe, taking photos in all🥰🥰big fan from Nagaland
I wished I saw this video sooner I have lived in HK and Dubai.
How quiet and empty it seems at times. Great inspiration to grab my own camera and start using it more.
Love the boat 🇵🇸 (❤ you mate)

My photography idol ❤

That woman asked the perfect person to take a photo.
The quality of the POV cam 🔥🔥🔥
It’s a little more fiddly to use but the quality comparison is crazy! I love it so much 🙏🏼

Why do you use for video? And how are you mounting it ? Looks clean , great work❤
Dji Osmo Pocket 3
hmm.... my whole approach on street photography is to come close to people show who they are, seams like Dubaickukd be tricky..
Is it the DJI osmo 4 that you are using for POV? Looks really good with that quality 🔥
No im using the pocket 3 📸🙏🏼
The camera that’s strapped to your body, what is it? Which camera is it? How did you move it like adjusting it in a second and it films in a significantly higher quality than expected 2:18
I had the dji pocket 3 attached to a chest mount 🫡 not very comfy but footage looks epic!
Do you use ND filters for lenses?

Hi Sam, great video as per usual.
Is there any chance you could show which preset you've used when previewing the image that you've taken? Thanks :)

Being a Photography in Dubai is reallt stressfull oh God
How is there literally no one else walking around in a big city like that?
Early morning. Every big city is the same. You go out early there’s hardly any people. For mega cities like New York / London / Tokyo etc you’d be looking at 5-7:45am is the most quiet. Small big cities like Dubai you can be about until around 10am before it starts to get busy.
@@Opticalwander Thanks for the details. Helps to plan some walking
I prefer it without the bokeh tbh, so we can see what you're seeing
Do you colour grade footage from your DJI?
Yes 🙏🏼
Shoot in D-Log ✅

Is it really not allowed to shoot random portraits or candid of people in Dubai?
The only shit not allowed in dubai is flying drones
So you're not allowed to photograph people in Dubai but video is fine?
POV: It would prefer it even more, if you would remove the Camera from the sight!!! Thx
Why is it so desolate?!
So you can record them but not take photos? Makes little sense...
Dubai looks so abandoned
It was the morning at the end of the video it was 10:30am I always try to go out early to miss the crowds 🫡
Sorry, but you're wrong. You can still identify person only with tattoo's, clothes if you're local. Changing face with AI isn;t enough. Dubai is specific place for street photography and very restrictive.
i dont knwo why almost all arab countries are limited with a stupid rules
