Currently restoring my 50's 6" Delta Rockwell jointer. I tore the whole thing apart, cleaned everything and replaced the bearings. I bought a bearing puller at Auto Zone for 25 bucks. Worked beautifully. Pressed the bearing onto the cutter head shafts first and then, using a socket on the inner race, tapped them into the cup housings. When I got to reworking the fence I was baffled as to how it worked. The threads on the largest threaded rod were buggered like yours and I could not figure out what the crescent shaped piece was for. Found your video and am now going out to the shop to apply what you taught me. Thank you!
@@crect3692 yeah I wanted something old reliable and not too stupid big. Jointers are supposed to be simple machines, not sure why the new ones are so much more complicated yet flimsy.
Do you know where I can locate the cutter head pulley? Mine is defective and is a 2 1/2 inch by 9/16 inch bore. I can only find 1/2 inch or 5/8 pulleys but no 9/16 inch bore. Any suggestions? My jointer is the Rockwell 37-220 like yours. Really enjoy your videos.
No sorry I dont, mine came with it still intact which was fortunate. Ebay might be a good bet, or maybe even replacing the cutter itself... but that may lead to finding one that fits, then replacing and replacing to many parts.
@@crect3692 Thanks for your reply. I will keep checking but so far does not look good for finding the pulley with the correct shaft diameter. Again, good job on the Jointer video.
