They do get second hand spot light. There are thousand of people, that think the same. As long as the organisation gets spotlight here, the other dogs are more likely to get adopted too.

Puppies and Kittens are always the first to be adopted, Steven should "Rescue Dog Rescue" with old and disabled dogs and cats.
Carbon Ghetto Queen I agree but I understand puppies put on a better show. At least when they got adopted they clear more room in the shelters for adult dogs.
In a way they are helping in another way. These are mixed breeds that aren't as wanted as purebred. Yes they aren't young but they still need help
Supply and demand: If no one adopts the old and disabled, while the puppies and kittens would have been adopted, what then? Also, there may be far more puppies and kittens than old and disabled animals. It seems that even after cracking down on puppy mills, and spaying/neutering animals, there is an excess of them in existence.
The fact is, five or six adoptions is less than a drop in the bucket. The real benefit here is the promotion of adoption from legitimate shelters.
I've volunteered at places where the old and disabled animals die in a kennel at the shelter, whereas the puppies and kittens barely stayed more than a few weeks. Doesn't matter how many puppies and kittens there are, people will always want them over adult pets (especially old and/or disabled ones)

Cranston did such a great job, & it's adorable how he was a big ole mush to all of the puppies. Definitely a true animal lover. Gotta love how chill Columbus looks though, sweet kitty... errr, puppy. Black cats are usually the hardest for shelters to adopt out but hopefully someone scoops him right up. Remember black cats go with everything!
I have had many cats over the years and can confidently confirm that black cats have the sweetest personalities and temperament.
@@oliveoyl1802 Absolutely. Shadow, my black kitten was a stray. He has brought me more joy than I can properly express. He is so sweet and silly, black cats are overlooked and it breaks my heart.

I work in an animal shelter. I'm glad he does this but at the same time, I wish he would feature some older dogs. Puppies have no problem getting adopted.

it's 12:30 am and i'm too tired to be thinking straight because i'm over here straight up crying because all of these puppies (and kitten!) are so cute but i can't adopt any of them
indeed, I don't live anywhere near that facility as i'm not even American. Quite a shame in this case. I still want Sterling.
The cats spare me a trip to the shelter by just showing up at my doorstep. Not always the cutest or easiest to get along with, but hey everyone needs a home. There's a particularly surly one that goes through my trash every night that I'm trying to tame. The neighbors always roll their eyes and tell me it's a possum, but I think that's just another of those enticing lies.
lol, its true they just show up. I have about 5 or 6 showing up in my neighbourhood. They especially come around food time to make noise at my back door.

This is SUCH a fantastic way to get animals adopted. I hope that this becomes a regular thing-there are a lot of celebrities who love animals!

Anything that raises public awareness for rescue groups is another step in the right direction.

Completely agree, but I'm assuming it's way easier to transport a bunch of tiny kittens and puppies around as opposed to full-grown animals. Also at least they had a black cat, they're harder to get adopted!
