- Matt hit me with this idea before Vlogmas even started. Teeing off of hole 1 at Maple Hill and trying to get into basket 11 in as few throws as possible. I really liked the idea and once again Maple Hill being closed is coming in handy!

Simon: No this is the longest hole ever.
At a tournament in Aspen CO they do a hole the night before the tournament from the top of the gondola to the base that is 2.4 miles long. It's run by the discmania guys, so Simon should check it out!

That was fun. Seeing Maple in the winter helps me realize how relatively small "acreage-wise" one of the best courses in the world actually is.

My local course in Denver is basically a straight out and back. #4's tee to 14's basket is almost exactly 2 kilometers (about 6450 feet).

ive never played this course, but i feel like i know it better than some of the courses i do play. good stuff simon.
I think disc golf coverage channels should start adding whole course flyovers or something similar. Like I have seen Maple Hill played so many times but really had no idea what the property is laid out like, seeing this long and high flyover and where some of the holes are in relation to each other was really cool.

wow, great idea. love the drone footage. I have played maple hill twice now. gold first, then blue because gold is hard as hell. I have to go back and try gold hole one again. I shanked so bad it was embarrassing. If you think it looks far on video, stand on that hill with the bleachers to your left and you will see it's even farther that it appeared. great video Simon, thanks.

Now I want to play Milo east teepad 2 to Milo west basket 6. Measures in at about 4460' on Google maps. Maybe you or Foundation can film that at the BSF next year?
Edit: Milo west teepad 7 to Milo west basket 1 is about 4600'. Might be the longest "straight line hole" you can play on one established property, even though it's technically two different courses while in the year round layouts
My buddies played a 3600 ft safari hole about a month ago at bud Pell @ ross farm in Silverdale Washington.

Another fun "We have special permission and full reign" idea would be to compete for who can hit all 18 holes in the least throws. Obviously, this is would be for a course that zigzags across so doing holes out of order is best and you could either throw from within 5-10 of the last scored pin or from the next closest tee.

Steve Dodge should call that the Simon Line and only the first couple of tee times each day have the option to play it.

Why is it I got so excited thinking about having a 9 hole course with a bunch of like Par 7s and 10s and stuff? That would bring putting a bit less into the mix but more placements and creativity. Hopefully not so much open holes but some into the woods so distance helps but finesse would be KING. Of course this couldn't be a touring course but would be a fun course to think about if it could be done in the future sometime.
this would be cool as an anual thing since they close it each year you have the opppertunity
Maybe y'all could do another longest hole vid with a temp basket through a straight easement, like what power transmission lines run through, make sure it's varied elevation! 5000' and show Simon throwing it over those mountains!
