WOW, in the last 3 days I've watched about a hundred videos on growing relaxed hair. You are the ONLY video I've seen who say braiding relaxed hair or using protective styles are okay. Every video I've seen said DO NOT braid relaxed hair if you want to grow it and keep it healthy and from breaking.
Hello. Thank you for watching💕 my hair stays in a protective style. If I do braids I do jumbo. So there is less tension on the scalp. I also make sure my take down routine is correct 😆 I also keep my style in for 2-3 months. I used to go longer 🤦🏽♀️ That way all the manipulation is worth it. I have an entire protective style playlist on my channel. I think you may find it helpful if you’re interested in possibly wearing braids.
I usually strive for longer hair but seeing your healthy short hair is now my new goal. On another note you're really pretty with both long and short hair.
Thesea are solid tips that do work. For the first time in my adult life I've been able to grow my hair by doing these exact things. Trimming damaged/split ends, wearing protective styles, not leaving my hair out when going to sleep or anything that might have me rubbing my head against things causing friction or breakage. I haven't done the deep conditioning thing much because I'm kinda lazy and/or busy and I don't do scalp moisturizing enough for the same reason but I'm gonna have to get better cuz I want waist length hair and Im already half way there, whereas before I couldn't get it past shoulder length.
🤷🏽♀️ *Maybe my hair is snobby but I used 2 cheapy conditioners & they tangled my hair horribly. Your hair is GOALS sooo healthy also your living room looks comfortable* 😊
Hello. Thanks so much! And If drug store products don’t work well for you, I recommend the ORIBE line. I began using the restorative conditioner after my hair was badly damaged with a bad perming experience. It was VERY good at restoring my hair to a healthy state. It was just a bit pricey for me at $60 a bottle 😬. I tried Shea moisture and found it maintained the healthy of my hair and have been using them ever since. If the price doesn’t bother you I would recommend that line.

Hello!! Thanks for watching 💕💕The ORIBE gold lust line was Amazing. And the Moroccan Oil moisturizing shampoo is good for when I have protective styles. But for some reason when I switch to drug store products my hair style does well. As long as I deep condition and detangle properly. For me I noticed the most change in my hair when I started using the right hair oil (Unlay).
Oh yes it doesn’t matter the price of the shampoo because actually some of us natural sisters can’t afford the “nice expensive shampoo” and i actually use Suave Shampoo for both myself and my daughter and trust me it wash our hair just fine and I would agree on the deep conditioner every time we shampoo our hair👍🏻

I’m very thankful for this vid, because I’m on my hair re-growth journey, after my big chop about 3 years ago. I’m maintaining length but not enough thickness. I don’t want to go natural, though I am completely natural right now. I wear wigs as my protective style and by spring I want to get a perm, but I have been reluctant due to how it could defeat all of what I have been doing for my hair. I don’t manipulate my hair very much and I do deep conditioning with leave-in conditioners and rice water etc while rocking my shower cap during the day (since I’m home most of the time). I have several decorative shower caps that are the type I can sleep in when conditioning at night. Thanks for the tips.

Straight to the point and liked "my opinion",.. I have damaged my hair horribly going back and forth with going natural then relaxing. Guess I will cut it then start over with relaxing, natural is not for everyone, thanks for your tips, you're a cutie too:)
I’m a relaxed I’ve started this year relaxing myself after Covid my stylist is still absent I use affirm Avalon My stylist used it in my hair for several years . Thanks , for the deep conditioning tips . I’m going to get a braided wig or wigs on and off for protective styling . My hair is long a bit past shoulder . I would like it to be longer . I use biolage shampoo and conditioner. Paul Mitchell shiny balm oil. Shea moisture leave ins/African pride . Aloe Vera oil sometimes blue magic . I’d like to try Unlay .
Also, drink plenty of water. If you stay dehydrated, hair breaks more easily in my experience. Hair, skin, nails need to have water in our bodies to look the best.
I lobe ALL your videos so much and your hair is a whole vibe!!! 2022 is my year 💪🏾 also just want to say ur voice is so chill and calming... if you ever make motivational videos I'm just saying I could fall asleep to them lol 💋❤
Yesss 🙌🏾 we’re reaching these hair goals in 2022! You got this. As for the motivational speaking ….might give it a try lol 😆. Thanks so much for watching 💕
I haven't used relaxers in sooo long due to them having harsh chemicals in them. As a natural I prefer short styles. When I do attempt to grow my natural hair it takes forever and its often dry. BUT You make me wanna try relaxing my hair again just to see if I can achieve length like yours. *What relaxers do you recommend?*
Hello. Thanks for watching 💕 I use optimum defy breakage no lye relaxer. I have had a lot of success with length retention with this relaxer. I wouldn’t give up on being natural if you are really concerned about the chemicals in relaxers. Maybe try protective styles and thicker moisturizers. Also weekly deep conditioning may help with the dryness. Good luck on your hair journey.... whichever way you go 💕💕
I know there are many different factors that affect people's hair journey. I know when an natural my hair doesn't grow as well verses when am relaxed. I know the less manipulation to your hair the better and you can retain length. I do agree we need oild and deep conditioning and cut off all damage hair...I really wish my hubby would let me perm my kids hair cuz natural hair is sooooo time consuming and my teenager has extremely thick hair and an barely put it in a decent ponytail lord knows am tired of doing all this hair lol
This might be late but Rosemary oil can soften the hair 😊 Also aloe as a detangler x or try blow drying on a light setting to get all the knots out. It’ll be about 6x faster 😉
Why wear wings when you have all that beautiful hair! I was natural for three years and I just went back to a perm two days ago. I hated all those protective styles and fake hair. I want to take care of my hair but I'm over so called protecting it. Our hair is better than fake hair, weaves, braids and wigs!! Your hair is beautiful!!!
The wigs are doing more damage than perms. Seriously a lot of women are bald with only the middle of their head growing hair. That is sad. The real hair is so much better . Wearing a wig for special occasions is understandable, but most women won't leave the house without a wig. Wear your real hair please. God gave you hair how is it a protective style if it's causing thousands of women to loose their hair? Your real hair is great . The more who wear RH the more people will accept it for how beautiful
Even if you’re natural if you have Afro hair you will always need a deep conditioner if you want hair longer than shoulder length as our hair is dry - oil doesn’t flow through our hair’s length. It’s just the types of deep conditioners and protein requirement that are different
Hi! I use an oil called unlay but I’ve only ever seen it at my local beauty supply store. If you can’t get your hands on that Shea moisture has a strengthen and restore hair serum that’s VERY good. It can also be used as an hot oil treatment. Jamaican black castor oil is very good for hair growth. It regrew my edges after a bad perm experience. But it’s a heavy oil and should only be used in permed hair close to wash day. Hopefully one of these oils works for you. And good luck on your hair journey!!!

I’ve been relaxing my hair for 8 years now. Noticing some thinning going on, but I also haven’t been taking care of my hair. Should I stop relaxing right away, or give it some more time with consistent care to see if it can be reversed? I really love my relaxed hair 😭
Hello. Thank you for watching ❤️ I would definitely try to repair first. Start using hair repair products like olaplex ( although it does take a while to see change with that product), livingproof repair and restore leave in is amazing! Also deep condition with every wash after cutting any damage away. I would give it a good 4-6 months of care before I give up on relaxers. Also consider stretching your relaxers if you think the thinning may be due to over processing. Good luck ❤️
@@IannaYvonne I just got a relaxer a month ago and how long until I can relax the new growth? Should it be 10 inches of new growth etc ? And is there a root straightener you reccomend to use sometimes while I wait?
Hello. I recommend relaxing at 12-16 weeks. Of course this time frame will be different for everyone depending on their hair thickness and rate of growth. During that time I use heat on my roots/ new growth only to straighten that area and help make my hair more manageable while it grows.
I like your hair and pls how long can someone live the condition on her hair and when someone relaxe her hair how long before you can wash the relaxes away
If you’re cutting only twice a year does that mean you end up cutting a lot since you didn’t cut little by little every couple month? How many inches do you typically cut? Thanks,
Good presentation and great hair. A small suggestion for other videos: try not to beat/punch your hands when speaking. The punching sound is distracting although most of your viewers were more impressed by your living room.😃 your hair is a testament to your practices. Keep up the good job.

Affirm Avalon relaxer I’ve heard good things about that relaxer, are you still using it? what strength?
Also, drink plenty of water. If you stay dehydrated, hair breaks more easily in my experience. Hair, skin, nails need to have water in our bodies to look the best.
Do a video on how to clean dirty cornrows without taking it down.
Thank you....I need to act like I care about my hair. I have been laxed.
Thanks for watching 💕
Wow! Thanks so much for the helpful tips! You have beautiful hair by the way! 💜
Thank you. And thanks for watching 💕
You beautiful!! Eyes, hair, your background everything.God Bless
Good luck on your hair journey.... whichever way you go 💕💕
Wow...your living room is so beautiful! 💞
Thank you 😊 and thanks for watching 💕
When you wrap your hair and put on a wig cap, How do you keep your hair moisturised ?
Between wigs ,sew ins, braids which is healthier and less tension and which would promote length retention
Oh yes..your hair is absolutely beautiful
You're hair is so healthy and beautiful Queen 💞tranquil and very elegant style of your living room boo💥
Thank you and thanks for watching ❤️
Why wear wings when you have all that beautiful hair! I was natural for three years and I just went back to a perm two days ago. I hated all those protective styles and fake hair. I want to take care of my hair but I'm over so called protecting it. Our hair is better than fake hair, weaves, braids and wigs!! Your hair is beautiful!!!
Thank you for watching! Lol , Im actually taking a break from protective styling myself right now. So I totally understand this sentiment.
Because she can
this video was extremely helpful tysm xx Also your absolutely stunning!!
Thank you 😊 and thanks for watching 💕
Even if you’re natural if you have Afro hair you will always need a deep conditioner if you want hair longer than shoulder length as our hair is dry - oil doesn’t flow through our hair’s length. It’s just the types of deep conditioners and protein requirement that are different
Hii! What oils do you recommend?
More specifically, what oil do you use?
@@IannaYvonne thank you! I appreciate it. 🤍
How long should you be adding the oil to your hair? ( example every day )And how long should you wash your hair? (Example everyday)

@@IannaYvonne thks, really appreciate it..my hair has always had some length, not 2 middle of back, but definitely past my shoulders. It wz badly damaged in 2015, had 2 cut it 2 about chin length (very upsettin) & its finally now growin, but not cuz im using any growth oils & stuff, i just use peppermint oil, massage it daily & most importantly, stretched relaxer! Recently got a relaxer after waitin 5 months, got a trim, hair had body, some length & looks cute! 😉
Beautiful 😻 and relaxed hair definitely grows is what I learned

@@IannaYvonne thank you so much for your advice! I’m going to start a new regimen and give it some time 😇❤️
@@IannaYvonne I just got a relaxer a month ago and how long until I can relax the new growth? Should it be 10 inches of new growth etc ? And is there a root straightener you reccomend to use sometimes while I wait?
Hello. I recommend relaxing at 12-16 weeks. Of course this time frame will be different for everyone depending on their hair thickness and rate of growth. During that time I use heat on my roots/ new growth only to straighten that area and help make my hair more manageable while it grows.
Hello try Ayurveda hair care
can i ask how often you massage your scalp with oil? 😊
I like your hair and pls how long can someone live the condition on her hair and when someone relaxe her hair how long before you can wash the relaxes away
If you’re cutting only twice a year does that mean you end up cutting a lot since you didn’t cut little by little every couple month? How many inches do you typically cut?
Thanks,
Do you stretch your relaxers? How many weeks do you wait before you relax? Thanks for the inspiration!
Hello. Thanks for watching 💕 Yes. I stretch my relaxers to 16-20 weeks.
I think stretching the relaxer is a key factor to hair growth.
Amazing video? Can someone guide me on how to healthily relax hair?
The #1 component is **genes**!
Good presentation and great hair. A small suggestion for other videos: try not to beat/punch your hands when speaking. The punching sound is distracting although most of your viewers were more impressed by your living room.😃 your hair is a testament to your practices. Keep up the good job.
in the thumbnail picture: how long did it take to grow it from the bob to long? Thanks in advance🥰
Your hair is beautiful! And this is to lengthen and strengthen hair?
Do you deep condition with relaxed hair? I notice whenever i wet my relaxed hair it looses the straightness of before. How do I prevent this???? Because your hair is gorgeous and everything i dream of hahaha🥰😆
