    Thanks, Kristen. I'm so glad I found you . I really watch what I spend and only go to the grocery store when there really is a need or sale . 😘😘😘

      I am so glad you found me too, and that you are shopping the sales! Isn't it fun to find a good deal? 😁😊😃

    It was worth going over budget when you get such a great meat deal. It is definitely smart shopping. My grocery hauls resemble yours. My 25 year old daughter is on her own but my 23 year old son is still home and he does like to eat. Speaking of budgeting,my son just graduated college as a software engineer and he is working. I told him to stay home and save his money for awhile. He is very smart with money…like you!

      Thank you! I'm glad you agree that it is smart shopping! 😊 It takes practice but the time spent is definitely money saved! Glad your kids are being smart well!

      Kids right out if college need some wiggle room to get on their feet. With inflation and covid, they have had to get through a difficult time. Much more so than it usually is for them to start out. Also, really good meat deal! Yay!

      @@rg-mi5hh Good points! If parents and kids are willing to work together through and beyond the college years, it can be a great way to help grown kids on a solid financial footing for their adult life.

      @@rg-mi5hh Agree! It is difficult for this generation to venture on their own. Fortunately we were able to pay our children’s undergraduate tuition so they don’t have to deal with that payment but you’re absolutely right about needing that wiggle room with today’s economy.

    I didn't spend much on regular groceries but bought 5 big bottles of Costco honey and 30 lbs cheese from Sams and frozen berries from Sams due to having friends offer to pick up things for me (I reimbursed them of course). I still ended up under $500 for the month for 6 of us.

      Well done, indeed! Stocking up on honey and cheese and frozen berries all at once will definitely save you money! That is wonderful to have friends who are willing to pick things up for you from Sams and Costco. I've done the same before with / for friends...especially with honey! 🍯

    The best way to store-sour cream is upside down in the refrigerator

    I got 50 pounds of chicken. I only got 4 pounds of clearance ground beef for $2.99. But I did go over budget too!! I cut and packed up 19 bags of chicken meals and made 8 hamburgers and 1 lb of meat. Great news to stock freezer but I just hate the end of the month sales to make it harder to budget well.

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! Why is it that the best sales seem to come at the end of the month lately?!?! Way to stock up on chicken and fill your freezer too! We'll definitely save money in the long run and make up for the overages! 😁

      @joyfullythriving  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome! I am glad you found me! I haven't shared many meal plans yet but do have a typical month's worth of menus shared in this video. I will have to try including more Menu plans with my hauls, if that would be helpful. th-cam.com/video/ioqFcH5eMjU/w-d-xo.html

    👍 You did a great job even if you were over because of all that meat & you wont have to buy any for a while. 😅
    I spent around $275 for May because there were hardly any good deals this month. Hoping June has some deals then i can stock up on those things. 🛍

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, and yes! That is my stocking up hope as well, because now I won't have to buy much for awhile. I'm hoping for good deals in June too!

    Well worth going over budget for,you definitely will make it back. I only found one super deal this week,16 oz bag of organic wild rice for .99

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a really good price on wild rice! It is interesting how some weeks, there are lots of deals, and other weeks they seem sparse. It helps balance out the budget, I guess! 😂

    how in the heck....we spend no less than 200-250 every WEEK on groceries for a family of 6 and we have almost no food by weds. i need to find $ to monthly bulk shop.... we spent 1100 for groceries in june

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does take work, and I know my budget isn't for everyone! I will say that I have been working at building a stockpile for years...slow and steady. And bulk shopping for staples really helps keep our budget as low as it is! If you can find some money to do a bulk stock up all at once, you see the difference more quickly. However, I still try to stock up on the deals every week as part of my budget. Do what you can. Slow and steady, and I know you can do it! 😊
