Finally was under. It's the 5 shopping days in month that get me. I'm really being more cautious of what I purchase.
Good job staying under! 👏 It is definitely more and more of a challenge to stay under budget lately! Let's see how we do this month! 😏
Yes,call that a win! I'm starting October $4.00 over,it's fine,I'll get it back.
Yes, indeed - you definitely will! Here's to a fresh start in October!
that "Boost" program sounds great. We don't have Kroger in my area, but if they keep up those deals it sounds like it is worth it to those who have them. this was a great, unintentional low spend month for me do to some unexpected sales plus receiving a free dozen eggs from a farmer friend. I also discovered that I could buy quarts of long-life milk at Dollar Tree for just $1.25 each so bought four. This would be a great deal for families with kids who drink a lot of milk, but for me who doesn't drink it a lot and was finding I wasted too much, it was my score epiphany of the month. Thank you for sharing you deals, even though I have different specific stores, the seasonal trends are comparable and I enjoy/share your system.
Yay for low spend months! It is nice when that happens. And yes, Dollar Tree has some good deals! I will have to do a video about that sometime soon. Glad my videos are helpful - even with different stores!
Thank you for this video. If you have time, I have a question about brisket. I've never bought it because I'm a little intimidated with how big they are. How do you cook it? And, would you suggest cooking it all at once then freezing for future meals? I don't have a smoker but maybe there are other ways I could prepare it. Thank you 😊
Very good question! I actually grew up eating brisket occasionally in Texas but never attempted cooking it until my husband bought a smoker. I still technically haven't cooked it since he smokes it for 10 hours or do. Low and slow is all I know. BUT we like to smoke the whole thing and then freeze portions for later. We actually just had brisket from the freezer tonight and it tastes just as good thawed as it did when it was first cooked.
Excellent video do you have any pictures of Hawaii never been there
Thank you! Hawaii was beautiful and a special place to visit. I am glad we went and definitely recommend it if you can go someday!
Kristen,
More amazing deals! Well Done! Much love and God Bless from all of us! xxx
@@joyfullythriving,
You are most welcome! Also do you have a video for your Poppyseed Chicken you kindly make when company come over and or needing to take a meal to people? I couldn’t find it on your channel! Thanks in advance! God Bless and much love xxx
I just started buying eggs from a local family for $4/dozen or 18 count that are slightly smaller. They are nearly $4 a dozen at Aldi or were last I checked so this worked out. I was within budget for September but definitely over in October with all the meat (40 lbs ground beef, brisket, 15 lbs bacon, 4 pork shoulder roasts, 4 beef roast (whole, so two were each 20 lbs). I think we got right around 167 lbs. We did calculate price per lb but I can't recall the exact amount. $3 something a lb including the brisket which was definitely more than you paid!
That's a great price per pound with all that meat! 🙌 And very smart to start buying your eggs from a local family too. Glad you found someone to sell you eggs- and meat!
You did really well, the deals were great! We were over but some things were included that weren’t food or even paper goods. I found some cute fall items at Aldi and that was my downfall! Oh well, there’s October to redeem myself. Great video as always🙂
I'm pretty well stocked up all the time for our household of 2 + grandkids coming by when in town.❤ Only spent $190.58 on food/non food supplies for the month of September. However in October I have already spent $304.42 because I stocked up at Costco(Los Angeles county) last Thursday 😊 where I paid $8.29 for 2 dozen Organic brown eggs/pasture-raised/vegetarian fed. 2 dozen white eggs were cheaper. I only shop the deals & sales at Ralphs and Vons and spend most of my grocery money @ Traders buying their produce + Costco about once every 2 to 3 months 😊 Enjoy seeing all of your grocery hauls & will take advantage of boost when it works out well in any given month...
I like your plan to shop the sales with stocking up at Costco every couple months. Those Costco or Sam's trips can add up quickly!
Amazing ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Over budget! But my freezer stocked with great meat sales so I am ok with it.
I too don’t buy as much in October because great deal’s November and December.
Yay for stocking up on good meat sales! 🙌 Isn't it interesting how our shopping goes in waves throughout the months???
Curious: does your budget only for groceries, or does it include paper goods, cleaning, ext?
At this point, it does include toiletries and paper goods and everything except vitamins. I am thinking of taking those out of my budget and making the $500 solely for food. Do you include other items in your grocery budget, or separate them out?
❤❤❤❤❤
where is your meat and chicken and other proteins?
In my freezer! I have a full freezer, and buy all my meats when they are on sale - which allows me to shop the sales this way.
Over budget. 🙄
No worries. It happens to all of us! Fresh start this month! And think of all the money you saved this past month, even going over budget...there were still lots of savings I am sure!
I recently picked up bakery bread on mark down at Walmart for .27 cents each. I bought 6 and put them in the freezer.
Wow! That's amazing, and bread freezes so great!
