I found a document that I read. Idk what it said, but it gave me the option to say that Gortash hired me as an additional body guard. They let me in with that after a persuasion roll.

If you saved iron hand gnomes and don't immediately attack the patrol with steelwatcher - they will flashbang the steelwatcher before it can tell anyone that you are to be arrested, and everyone just forgets you exist, because now they gotta find out how to fix it
in my durge playthrough i snuck through and around wyrm's rock itself. had to go up over the top past gortash's private office and kill a bunch of steel watchers lmao
Well, that's the problem with living in a world where pictures and film don't exist. No one knows what you look like, other than those close to you. They know you by name or reputation, but not by face. Anyone can say they're Duke Ravengard's son.
I want an option where Tav can claim to be Wyll, if they're a human male (or disguised as a human male). Or Gale could make the attempt and fail miserably. Actually I want that second one more, Gale would fail so hard at pulling it off even before the fact that he's the wrong race and possibly a decade or more too old.

I really hate to be pedantic, but pictures definitely exist in Faerun, you're thinking of photographs. And I'm sure that you'd at least be able to surmise if someone is related to your city's ruler, especially if he's your boss.
In the real world this was solved with a few layers of protection. Firstly, by personal knowledge (communities were smaller, even the biggest cities were a few hundred k people). Important figures and their families were known by the locals Secondly, with seals and official documents. The Romans had a pretty elaborate system for this but you can imagine even in fantasy something like a signet ring, necklace, etc that would be extremely expensive and hard to fake. In a DnD context they could put an enchantment on the item for further security. Third with bearing, speech, clothes, etc. Income, healthcare, and education inequality was enormous. You could tell the difference between a peasant putting on an act and a noble. Last with severe punishment for lying about nobility or identity. Extremely painful public torture and execution type thing
my halfling bard had the necklace that let her shapeshift into a raven. flew in and wound up in Gortash's chamber XD luckily you don't trigger anything by showing up as a bird!
I find it funny that if he does have the horns he tries it twice. I actually saw for the first time Florrick’s response if he doesn’t have them (Karlach is alive, I just got her fairly late and had other night time scenes override Mizora so she took a few days to show up. )
That might be precisely why, they’re designed to take in psychic signals and a disembodied, personality-less, brain probably isn’t going to care about being insulted or have a greatest fear for stuff like Phantasmal Killer to take advantage of.

My last durge playthrough I took out all of the scrying eyes from stealth before doing anything else. I got through the gate without being "selected for special treatment"

Gith were originally based on the idea of what a Jedi would be like, at least stats-wise, in D&D. So seeing the lightsabers there is a neat coincidence. *They have force powers, big special swords they are very attached to, and a faction each based on mental powers and physical powers. Edit: Ok, so I swear I read this somewhere a decade ago but I went to go double check and I couldn't find a single source for it or even discussion of the similarity. However the Gith were invented by a 14 year old British boy in late 1977 or early '78, the height of Star Wars mania, so I think the theory is still valid (at least the force/psionics and lightsaber/silver sword parts). Interestingly the backstory, culture, and even _name_ of the Githyanki were taken from a sci-fi novel by George R. R. Martin.
I couldn’t think of any Jedi like things going for them before this, but now I still can’t, except for maybe just the monk angle? They have a lot of poorly written bits to them, probably why they aren’t really written about that much now. You could write loads about Jedi though.

@@Ya0w The horns make him more handsome, but I don't love his demon eye and I hate his default hairstyle. I prefer to give him Gale's hair and a goatee (using the Appearance Edit Enhanced mod), but those disappear when he gets the horns.

To be fair, cameras don't exist in this setting, and Wyll's been gone 7 years - I highly doubt she's ever seen him before

The game straight up says the watcher connects to your mind, scans your memories, and sees everything you've done. Seeming won't do shit.

I almost always kill karlach. I prefer leazel as my melee fighter and the robe you get from mizora is so good for gale or a caster tav.
