    Thank for explaining these modernist views on the Bible. I went to an Archdiocese "Catholic" Bible Study that espoused all of the errors that you reviewed. When I was taught that Adam and Eve were a myth I became sick to my stomach. Fortunately for me God gave me the Grace to just discount that theory. The whole different writers thing had me so confused that I dismissed that also! I am so excited to continue with your study! God Bless you Father!

    Jordan Peterson's genesis interpretations are a net gain because he shows to a materialistic audience that there is meaning and profound concepts in the bible stories, so then, people who always disregarded the bible as nonsense will then investigate the topic more seriously and many did convert thanks to him. As to his 'psycological approach', he isnt saying this is the only approach. He has other failings and wrong opinions, but that particular series of his is good.

    I believe that Moses wrote all of it because of some points to consider. Let's ponder, in God's divine providence He allowed Moses to receive the best education of that time in the court of the Egyptian pharaoh. Who of the thousands of Israelites with Moses in the desert would have had that type of education and excess to other ancient writings that Moses may have used in some of his writings (Moses may have used sources in the book of Genesis.). Although, the scriptures indicate that a mixed multitude came out with the children of Israel, so there might have been some educated Egyptians that came out with them who were converted and worked with Moses as scribes. That assumption may not be valid though.

    Hello Fr. Can you explain who God’s “ Counsel “ is? According to Dr. Michael Heiser - a biblical scholar, albeit an Evengelist - says in one of his talks the God ( Yahweh) was at the head and the Elohim are who made up his counsel, as stated in the Old Testament. If so, why is it not mentioned in the New Testament?
    Also, will you be addressing the Nephlim and why were they called the Son’s of God in the OT? When they were seen as bad angels - the Watchers. Again Dr Heiser speaks at length about these. Your opinion?

    I heard that two baptized people even if they are married in the justice of the peace can not get divorced.
    I ask this priest’s about getting married in the Church and he said “marriage was created four hundred years ago….” He didn’t elaborate on it. So I am a little confused!
    Was I living in sin or not?

    • @pete9688
      @pete9688 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      From what I understand ( my niece is going through the same - she was married civilly and now is divorced, but wants to get married correctly in The Catholic Church to a man she met ) she HAD to go to confession re living with her civil husband as she was living in the state of mortal sin - she also didn’t receive Holy Communion while she was civilly married-) Having sexual relations with your civil spouse is considered a mortal sin. The Catholic Church doesn’t view a civil marriage as “ a valid “ marriage. I’m not sure why your priest didn’t mention that to you. There are quite a few priests that were mal catechized the seminary. Unfortunately.
      I’d get a divorce ASAP or marry him through and with the blessing of The Catholic Church.

    • @andreathemisses1422
      @andreathemisses1422 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Catholic Church does not recognize your marriage in the Justice of the peace. In other words as Catholics we marry in the Church, not outside it. You therefore are living in sin. You should seek to get an annulment, at a Traditional Catholic Church, not at a Novus Ordo. ( modernist church) so you and your partner can get married in the Catholic Church. If that is impossible seek out a good and holy priest to help you. And seriously read and learn from the Baltimore Catechism especially on Marriage. Modernist Novus Ordo do not teach the proper traditional Catechism that all Catholics so desperately need. God Bless.

      Catholics were exegetes from the beginning. Church Fathers, such as St Jerome, St John Chrysostom, Origen, etc.were exegetes. And the monks of the West too, through the early and Medieval period, were exegetes.

    It would be equivalent to me studying Christianity from a Rabbi. It doesn't work. A Rabbi will tell you Jesus is not in there and a Priest
