There's a reason the card is by far the most expensive in the set, and it's not just because it's a free counterspell. If I had $450 to spend on a card, this would be the one that I'd buy.
They should make a promo version of this that is textless. Seriously this art is fantastic, maybe my favorite in 2XM (hard to say because there's so much great art!). Thanks for making this video!

Art is one of the primary reasons I got into Magic a few years ago. I dig the more "realistic" renderings for some of the art - but my favorites are the ones where the individual, wildly different media styles are most apparent. It's introduced me to a number of artists like Bliss, Walker, McKinnon, Mohrbacher, Guay, etc. Now I have another name to keep an eye on. Awesome!
Really outstanding work. I wasnt happy with wotc parting ways with nielsen, but such is life. This is a fine addition to the cards' history, combining your style with a little bit of an homage in my eyes

Is paint your favorite media for drawing. I'm a big fan of charcoal and Sharpies when I draw its been a long time since I actually picked up a drawing medium. The mixture of greens and reds in your piece makes it pop. thanks for being part of this love in MAGIC THE GATHERING keep going I'm excited to see what else is in store for MTG. Scott, you have been one of my favorite artists since around 2000! a huge influence on my own personal art. I love your use of vivid colors, especially in flesh tones, all the wonderful purples and blues in the backgrounds and your bright lighting and excellent composition with your figures. Sad to say I never learned to oil paint the way you do, but I would love to one day.

I ACTUALLY PULLED THE NON FOIL OF THIS CARD YESTERDAY! and now i get to see how this beautiful piece was created
I just pulled the non foil of this too about ten minutes ago. I jump on here and this is what I see. The craziness
Non-Foil > Foil, The foils will eventually curl over time as the cardboard absorbs moisture in the air, its especially relevant in tournament play.
i got one more chance coming to me to pull this card and im praying!
