    I saw these at my local Target for $85. I was getting ready to pick one up but then I noticed that one of the side flaps was opened, so I brought it to customer service to bring it to their attention. I offered to buy it if there was nothing missing from it and they allowed me to check it in front of them. Spin downs are a staple of bundles. And they made special ones for special bundles in the past - Throne of Eldraine comes to mind. It seems the intent was to incentivize Compleat edition purchases with the spin down life counter, yet anyone can get one if they purchase $75 or more of product. I am also in the same boat. Lands while may not be as exciting as actual spells, I think are more useful than a majority of commons, uncommons, rares etc. A lot of these low rarity cards you will likely not use in your deck in any format, heck some may not even cut it in Commander. But these special oil treatment foil lands and the Phyrexian foil full art lands I think do have some value to the player even if they do not hold a high price tag. I think having these cool lands be matching art and foil is quite neat. I would my Thassa God of the Sea Commander Deck to have those oil foil Islands in. Man what a beautiful sight that will be.

Add 12 set boosters (3 short of half a box) valuated at 36 to 48 bucks. The Set Boosters is where you lose money. 24 packs valuated at 96 bucks. The 4 notable pulls from those 24 packs, Norn (38.00) Vraska (12?) All will be one (9.00) Urtet (7.00) total out to 66 bucks, with the rest of the rare/mythic (23 total) totaling out at 15 bucks maybe? So, you're at 81 dollars in value (-15.00) WITH a Norn Pull had you bought these as packs. Now, the waiting game to see if WoTC prints more and does a second wave. Honestly in terms of value if you can get the compleat edition for about 80 or less it's almost worth it just in the oil slick lands with for the two of each land type goes for around 64 usd at time of release plus everything else in the box. But it's only worth it if you have the extra money to spend

Found two of the compleat bundles for $80, my friend pulled Elesh, Vraska, and Sword of feast & Famine...and so much more...I got the value out of mine as well however no where near his crazy pulls. The oil slick cards are way cooler in person than I thought they would be. While we don't plan on selling them his came out around 300+ dollars and mine was close to 100 dollars

    My compleat bundle arrived today and the lands were very pretty, but I’m glad they had extra boosters too. I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t have another dice 😅 I like collecting the oversized spindowns. Felt happy with my purchase at preorder of £60, but now they’re going for quite a bit more I wouldn’t of got it at any higher price.

    Honestly if I could buy just the compleat booster on its own for 20 bucks, easiest decision ever. The lands themselves are selling anywhere from 5-8 dollars at the moment and I really love the design of them. I don't really wanna pay that much for a land on its own though. I will eventually, but I'm not gonna enjoy it. Not to mention that Elesh Norn, that's like 50 bucks and also something I really wanted. I'd buy like 4-5 of those boosters just for the lands and whatever the other two cards I'd see as a bonus.

  • @anthonydelfino6171
    @anthonydelfino6171 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I always feel like they're overly stingy with basic lands, despite you talking about how many basics are in there. I get real picky about wanting my basic lands in decks to match both in frame and thematic style, and while those oil slick lands look amazing, to build a commander deck with them, I'd need closer to 6 of each basic which puts them out of reach to do for a deck.
    I've found in the past when I see the amazing treatment on basic lands, I then get disappointed that I just can't get enough to do a deck in that style for a reasonable price. We should get a lot more basic lands in addition to the rest in these packs. Give people enough of those treatments to at least build a deck or two in them. Basics are so ubiquitous they should be able to add all that in without breaking the bank or secondary market.

Haven't opened the Set boosters yet so all of that is just gravy on top in my opinion. The best part was the red and white Phyrexian 100 point spindown life counter that my LGS was giving away for every Compleated Bundle bought. Its just like the life counter from the Nicol Bolas Archenemy box-set but has the Phyrexian symbol on each side of it. Just the life counter alone is going for 40$-50$ on Ebay. Maybe then Wizards could have focused on making more for everyone and bringing prices down? I picked it up primarily for the oilslick lands for my blinged out Atraxa deck, cool looking storage box and a chance for a something cool in the mythic slots. Ended up with the new Atraxa and Ichormoon Gauntlet! Very happy way to start the weekend. The oilslick lands look like they'll be in the £2 range. That's £20 in the compleated booster before factoring mythics, plus the rest of the box value - But I wouldn't have wanted to spend £100 on this for the reasons you laid out. I was pretty lucky with my set booster pulls, with another atraxa and 4 or the 12 boosters containing list cards, all playable mythics and rares (goldspan dragon being the big one!).

I mean, I agree in that it would've been dope if there were just one of each land, and then a few other cards with the same treatment, like some commons/uncommons, or even a rare or two, and the price markups. I was only able to secure one of these things before they sold out everywhere, and I adamantly refuse to pay this insane markup, and I pulled Jace and Tyrranax Rex as my oil mythies, and was lucky enough to get a Sword of Forge and Frontier from one of the included packs. So, based on those three cards alone, I got about $60 works of the $85 I spent after taxes/shipping on it. But, damn.
