ive been experementing around with paint layers for a faux old and beat up paint job with bare metal and rust effects. ive tried three trials with wax, grease and butter trying to do what you did with the latex, i have litteraly been looking at a bottle of latex since Halloween at my workdesk. goes to show that i sometimes overcomplicate and am blinded by things, thanks for opening my eyes to whats in front of me. and love you print and paint layout on the mask.
Thank you man! Honestly that wax idea sounds pretty good. I saw on vaultfox's channel where she used the latex and I really liked the simplicity of it. Highly recommend it. Hope this helped you somewhat, and thanks for watching!!!
Those layer lines are terrible looking, but you did a great job smoothing them out. Cool looking mask. Would love to see it a higher resolution resin print of this.
Hi mate, I don’t know if your gonna read this, but I’m looking at printing something like this off, I could really do with some advice on support placement, orientation and cura settings for the print you’ve done chief
Honestly, all I did was have tree supports on. It’s hard to give settings because each machine is individual. Even mine is calibrated right now because I got some new filament and now it’s off. Unfortunately you gotta just play with it. I hope this helps somewhat and thanks for watching!
So I pulled the rope through both holes and then looped back through between the mask and the rope about middle way of where the mask is. This created natural ear loops, and then I just tie it behind my head. Also putting a little extra foam on the nose to prop it up more.
There’s a lot of files out there, I got this one off of thingiverse and printed it as is. You can always size up or down. Also some other sites have different masks, but you may have to pay for the file. Let me know if you make one for your dad!
You know, I haven’t. The only thing I’ve done is a coat of resin to smooth it out. Have you had good results doing that? I’ll have to try the acetone sometime.
So I took the whipped end and pushed it through the holes on the side of the mask. I really took my time because it was tight. Then I tied the loops and knots after I got the rope through. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
The most convenient would be something with a bigger build plate. Something with a 12x12 in plate like a CR-10 v3, or similar. However, you can get one with a smaller build plate and print the mask in two pieces and join them together after they have printed!
I’m gonna be honest, I had to reset my settings and have been having some issues with my printer. However I would suggest try slicing it different ways and look at your support settings.
I’m gonna be honest, I’m still trying to figure out. It differs between machines, filament brands, and other factors. In my experience, you really have to explore the settings for your individual machine.
Loved the video, enough that I'm in the process of making a mask, but one quick question. Did you do the whipping technique on both ends of the braid, or just leave it without it? If you just left it, did you put any sort of PVA glue onto it to make it hold its shape?
Thank you! I did the whipping on the ends that I tie around my head. On the other end of each braid I just did a simple overhand knot. Thanks for watching and I hope your mask turns out good!
I’m going to be honest I can’t remember, but I want to say 10%. I printed another one right after this video and it fell apart. You really have to play around with the settings for each machine to get the best results. Sorry I couldn’t be more detailed for you!
Nice 👌 Paint came out looking great. Just started a mask series myself if you're interested (not samurai, but theater masks) but instead of pla the end result is copper. Anyways, keep it up 👉 👉 Cheers 🍻 -Highball
Feel like nowadays everyone just 3d prints anything, i know how to buy a file and press print, i thought i was guyna see someone make summin instead of print/sand/paint, like duuuh
You are seriously criminally underrated, this deserves 10’s of thousands of likes. You deserve to be at 1 million subs!
Thank you man, I really appreciate it! Let me know what type of content you would like to see more of in the future. Thanks again for watching!!!

Soak your paint cans in a bowl of warm water before you spray, it helps thin out the paint. This looks awesome man! Good job
Thank you! I’ve heard that before, I definitely need to try it.
Thanks for the tip
This is awesome, i love the way the mask came out and the steps you used to make it look weathered and more authentic
Thank you! I'm going to try and post some more videos on this type of stuff in the future. It's a pretty fun hobby!
@Papa Romeo Productions i just ordered my printer. I'm excited to start playing with it too
@@MakerCuisine awesome! Let me know how it goes!
Nice finish mate, cheers!
Thank you!!!!
i really was looking for someone used 3d creater to creat an masks ,i reallly was looking alot then i find you

I’ve seen another guy posting some stuff on TH-cam using resin and they look sick! Thanks for watching!!!
In my opinion I think watered down black shoe polish is better then watered down paint
I'll have to give that a try sometime!!!
Very cool 😎 👌 👍
Thank you! I appreciate it!!!

Eu amo essa máscara, onde eu encontro o molde dela?
Thingiverse.com
how do you keep the mask on your head i have the same one but struggling with it i use paracord

Do you have any other suggestions to make for my dad who is a Big fan of the shoguns

Have you ever tried doing a acetone vapour bath to smooth the print
You know, I haven’t. The only thing I’ve done is a coat of resin to smooth it out. Have you had good results doing that? I’ll have to try the acetone sometime.
@@paparomeoproductions5956 yes it works wonders , just don’t leave it in too long
How did you do the rope thru the holes and the knots ?
Also loved the vid and made the mask myself but idk how to do the rope bit

What size printer would i need if i wanted to make some similar or more detailed masks?

Bom dia as máscaras samurais eram feitas de madeira
Correcto, pero imprimí este en una impresora 3D. gracias por ver
Can you link your cura settings for this? How did it take 8 hours? Mine is taking 2 days

OMG Que 431 abonnés ? Affolant, c'est génial !
This mask version isnt available anymore. Still have the file to share?
Let me see if I still have it and I’ll see what I can do!

Hey bro! What is your support conf??
I can’t remember the numbers off the top of my head, but I do have tree supports enabled
I am really suprised by you having only 459 subscribers ._.
I appreciate it! I don’t post on a regular basis, but maybe I will more in the future. Thanks for watching!
How long does it take to print this mask?
It depends on how you slice it in your software, printer settings, and the material you use. I think it was roughly about 8 hours.
como evitar se rompan los dientes superiores?
Usar suportes en el modelo
