    Colors are out of Tamiya F4F instructions, then lightened by eye with White and Buff.

    Pretty good job man, paint chipping seems a bit sporadic in some areas and it still seems a bit factory fresh but overall pretty good for a very old kit and in that scale

    NICE! I'm working on a video of an eduard 1/72 spitfire Mk. IX painted with the American north African colors! I'm almost done with it, I'm super excited to make a video about it.

    What type of paint? Tamiya? Enamel? Was the wash an Oil Wash? Good build. I like the old stuff.

      Tamiya acryl, mixed according to their f4f paint guide. Clay wash

    Bro you got that colour nailed, there's a beautiful pic online where they got one setup for gun calibration ... but they are using palm trees to hold up the tail. as they probably haven't got the equipment on hand. your build looks weathered like that picture .

    Which paint did you use to paint this model? The finish is amazing and very accurate. It's amazing how you turned such an old kit into a show stopper.

    Well, the kit is from 1964. So, yeah, it's quite sub-par these days. A very nice build, though.

      Heller is certainly from a different era, it requires a bit more modelling skill than your typical modern kit.

    So what about that voiceover huh

    • @TheWaggishAmerican
      @TheWaggishAmerican  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Recording issue. It only recorded right side and nothing I could figure out to do would let me make it stereo.

      @@TheWaggishAmerican Ah damn that sucks, what software do you use? Don't get me wrong btw, I love the video. The voiceover just makes it more personal

    • @TheWaggishAmerican
      @TheWaggishAmerican  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dutchglorkgames Yeah I agree I've been wanting to bring back the voiceover for ages but it's just one thing after the next with implementing it. Things were so much simpler when I just plugged my lapel mic into my phone lol.
      I pulled audio by recording a video with my computer camera and my Yeti. Yeti was set in correct mode, so for whatever reason it was my computer that decided to only record right, and it hard coded in such a way that even after messing with it in Davinci I couldn't force it out of Mono. I'm sure I could have found a way to do it in Audacity but I can barely navigate that tool and I don't think I even have it installed atm.

    • @Dutchglorkgames
      @Dutchglorkgames 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheWaggishAmerican Hmm strange, I have set mono audio to stereo mode in Davinci before but maybe the file is just some kind of broken then. Let's hope that for the coming videos it works out. I also gotta agree that while a great tool the audacity interface leaves something to be desired, they do seem to be working on a better interface since the merge with muse group I think.

    • @TheWaggishAmerican
      @TheWaggishAmerican  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dutchglorkgames The merge is actually why I dropped Audacity lol. I have no interest in being party to the telemetry stuff. I've kind of been sitting back and waiting for the civil war of different Nu-Audacity offshoots to stabilize and present a 'best' alternative before reinstalling.
      Yeah I know the process to reset mono -> stereo but it's just not in the file. Like the file is hard-coded mono. It is very frustrating. I'm sure if I had more editing chops I could have found a workaround but I basically only know the most bare bones functionality of Davinci, have only barely glanced at the audio stuff, have never even tried messing with any of the color or effects stuff, and the video had to be done when it was done to stay on schedule b/c I had to travel...
      It just made more sense to drop it without.
      I am committed to Rufe having it though. I pushed back schedule, so it WILL have voiceover come hell or high water.
